Goddamn these guys write great songs: hooks, melodies and resonant lyrics. Satisfaction and fulfillment on every level no matter how you enjoy their music. Saw them play a small club in Sydney in 2006. Didn’t stop smiling for weeks.
Oh, I'm awesome at standing absolutely still. Have some good memories of pretending to be asleep at school, hearing people talking about me while they thought I was really sleeping. I would love to do a video like this some day.
Wow. I didn't know Chris had moved until now. I've been watching/ listening to the video for a long time and I haven't noticed before. :P Great song, great band, and great video.
Just to explain this video. It is based on the artwork of British Art Duo; Gilbert and George who work as self styled "living sculptures". Many of their early film/vid works, feature the pair, just standing around doing nothing, in real time video shoots. It is this, that We Are Scientists based the video on. Nice work chaps! I am a big fan of this song and of Gilbert and George, so I am impressed!
Lyrics This scene is dead, but I'm still restless An hour or so until last call, I guess I shouldn't even be here, much less Drinking myself into excess I'm not going home till I'm done Well come on, we can't go on Well come on, we can't go on Well come on, you can't go home The night is young I'm blacking out But it's been Fun Well everything's another excuse To keep from doing what I want too Like I would really love to kiss you But I guess I'm in no condition I'm not going home with no-one Well come on, we can't go on Well come on, you can't go on Well come on, you can't go home The night is young I'm blacking out But it's been Fun Well I said that's it I'm not going home with no-one Not going home with no-one Not going home with no-one Well come on, we can't go on Well come on, we can't go on Well come on, you can't go home The night is young I'm blacking out But it's been fun You can't go home The night is young I'm blacking out But it's been fun
2006? 2007? Semi-Small club in Hollywood. They opened with the song getting airplay: "This Scene is Dead." Always impressed me. Usually those are the encore. Way to go, scientists. Love the cat theme (Paul: I would really love to kiss you ... but I guess I'm in no condition)
I came to this video pretty randomly and recognized that bridge immediately. Crossed a few times during my stay at a hotel near there a month ago. I thought it would be a great shield from the biting cold, but enough of the windows are screens that it wasn't. Looks a lot nicer when the leaves are green.
ive got the bum grapes.. how do you get rid of them? love we are scientists .. kind of somehow missed them till after hours . now im hooked totally hooked
Well you probably live up to your name clever id imagine. I am from London england and even over here we have heard of your school, you guys are amazing for science and maths...
Oh shit. I just liked, flicked through it rapidly, and they more around a bit as they stand there, but so small you hardly notice it in normal play. WTF DID THEY ACTUALLY STAND THERE THAT WHOLE TIME
I was so happy to see a new video from We Are Scientists and it says published Oct 31, 2012....then I see the top two comments from two years ago...lol Is this a halloween prank? haha
that Gilbert and George (who live in the same neighbourhood as me, by the way) are very fond of the multicultural Eastend of London and speak very highly of the huge local Bangladeshi Community whom they live amongst very happily. This doesnt strike as of the behaviour of racist people, somehow.
The soundtrack to my high school years :')
With love and squalor is by far my favorite CD of all time.

love this song! I've seen them like three times and whenever they play this song, I lose it.

Lyrics
This scene is dead, but I'm still restless
An hour or so until last call, I guess
I shouldn't even be here, much less
Drinking myself into excess
I'm not going home till I'm done
Well come on, we can't go on
Well come on, we can't go on
Well come on, you can't go home
The night is young
I'm blacking out
But it's been
Fun
Well everything's another excuse
To keep from doing what I want too
Like I would really love to kiss you
But I guess I'm in no condition
I'm not going home with no-one
Well come on, we can't go on
Well come on, you can't go on
Well come on, you can't go home
The night is young
I'm blacking out
But it's been
Fun
Well I said that's it I'm not going home with no-one
Not going home with no-one
Not going home with no-one
Well come on, we can't go on
Well come on, we can't go on
Well come on, you can't go home
The night is young
I'm blacking out
But it's been fun
You can't go home
The night is young
I'm blacking out
But it's been fun
I love this song! This is a great video!

Worth The Wait AND the alternative video for It's A Hit. Read the description for more info.
i was inlove with this song. I think I hear it it 20 in a row. It's pretty hardcore and fast and intense.

it was probably taken twice and they put the still part on a layer on top of the moving object.
do they just stand there when they sing or do they sing while they just stand there?
