Hello Gary, Do you know if the newer 4g Eclipse auto transmissions (F5a5a4c1z) Will fit and run in the 3g Eclipse with the(F4A5 trans)? I know the 4g Eclipse 6g75 engine will bolt up to the stock 3g engine mounts, but the auto transmission from the 4g would save on the rebuild if it works with the stock transmission mount...
Hi, Gary. I have rebuilt the f4a51 transmission. And after changing all frictions, gaskets, o-rings and filter I have some dtc as p0732 or sometimes p0733. I have some problems with gears shifting. And in hot this problem more sensitive.
hi Gary. love the vids. what can I do to a f4a51 if it was to be used for a drag racing situation. are there stronger stacks available? stronger planet pins? can the oil pressure be altered mechanically or can the pressure solenoid be driven harder? can the trans be manulised or driven without a ecu? thanks in advance.
Hello Gary, I have a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe with this transmission. My problem is that it slams into drive when cold, 1st start. Reverse no problem. When i drive around the block, it engages drive smoothly. Gear changes are smooth as well, hot or cold. Any idea what causes this problem? Thank you.
@@GaryFerraro I've already done that. No fault codes either. When I put it in reverse first en let it in reverse a few seconds, it engages Drive much smoother.
Hello gary, i've scanned the engine and transmission with a proper Delphi scantool. The engine has no faultcodes, transmission however gave the P1782 "actuator position sensor". Any idea where this sensor is? valvebody? No check engine light btw. Thank you.
Great information! Did you contact the aftermarket pump manufacturer to find out why his bushing tolerances were different? I remember when the whole transmission was cast iron..... early Powerglides, Dynaflows, etc.
Question? I have a F4A51-2 transmission on a 2001 chrysler sebring lxi coupe sometimes shifts real hard into drive and no 4th gear what can cause this. Fluids are new and full rpm's above 3,200 @ 60+ mile per hour. Please help I already changed all solenoids and speed sensors.
Thanks for the video Garry I have an urgent issue with my F5A51 AWD Transmission. I rebuilt the whole thing myself but now it has Two serious problems 1. it's Stuck at first gear, won't move into second even with tip Tronic mode! 2. It Jerks Violently when put in reverse, it doesn't jerk when putting into drive or 1st gear. Basically only first and reverse work. What can be a possible cause of this in your opinion?? Thanks heaps sir
@@GaryFerraro adreed Gary, I was shooting in the dark, I swapped the valve body and wiring but to no avail. I'm guessing I have a misfit somewhere, specially as I used a mixture of old and new componants. I'll see if I can find a scanner that can work with this car.
@@GaryFerraro Actually I scanned the car today and it throw these specific codes: 31 LR Sol Open 32 UD Sol Open 33 2nd Sol Open 34 OD Sol Open 35 RED Sol Open 36 DCC Sol Open I have to say that I have fitted a valve body and solonoids from another F5A51 Transmission as well as new clutches, steels etc etc (they had lower mileage on them) thinking they are exactly the same which they seems like they are. Same make and model transmission. But I have these codes now! I have checked the wires but to no avail so far. What would you think? Wish I was in USA here not many people work on these.

Does this repair/rebuild require a new torque converter because of metal particles trapped inside of it?

markbos4 Do you have access to a scan tool? First thing that should be done is a memory reset see if anything changes

Hello. My dipsick is showing half of dipstick wet with oil, is that too much ? Mechanich changed oil but it looks like too much..
There should be markings on the stick to show the full mark, if it's over that it may be overfull. Engine has to be running to check fluid level
@@GaryFerraro yes i know. There are temperature markings 25 c and 75 c. The oil is way over 75 mark. Should i remove some oil?

@@GaryFerraro sadly it used MUT II system, it's a Mitsubishi Verada AWD (Diamante). I have OBD 2 scanner but won't scam transmission codes
