I also received an E26 for review. I’m in the middle of a long ride on it this morning and stopped for breakfast. Lo and behold RiR has a review of the exact same bike. Love your reviews.
I now understand your concerns about being chilly, I rode my E-bike this morning and the temperature was 32 degrees, my ears were cold. I need something for under the helmet.
I have the 2023 Wired Freedom that has a 34 inch seat height. My inseam is about 30 inches, but I could sit on the seat with my feet almost flat on the ground. My guess is that the rear suspension allows for me to stand while on the seat as compared to a hard tail not having any suspension compression. The Engwe bike is a nice bike for the price, but I live in a hilly city and wanted the extra power for getting up those hills.
Morning Russ, like the way the colors pop right at you. The style of your bike is about the same, except for I have no fenders, back rack, or lights. Manual brakes instead of hydraulic like yours. I do like the price range also. Still working on trying to get a new battery, and maybe a new guardian Angel, blew the house fuse panel while taking the battery apart, big WHOOPS. Have yourself a great day.
IMO....Would rather have Bright headlight & rear light brake/turn signal light. BRIGHT yellow frame makes for Better noticeablity(is that a word?) & being seen during the day, except in foggy/rainy weather. Liking the bell but prefer aftermarket horn(>120db)-lol
Very nice looking bike. For the price it should be a good seller.. A bike that needs to be tested by the user to determine if it is too large for them. As you know a bike like this can easily be too big for a lot of people.
The reason it won't get to 28mph is because of a weird setting. If you're locked at 24.1 mph top speed, You have to open the menu and go to setting 09. You set HL-n and also set Hf-y. Now you should be able to get to 28mph at full throttle
Very cool looking bike. Very beefy. Nice details. Yeah, not exactly a blue, step-through. But seems like a great deal price wise. Hubby and I have put together 4 e-bikes. Putting on the fenders was the toughest part! Oh, I had to order a new handle bar light for my bike. My first one died. The button to turn it on and off and select the mode does not work anymore. I like having a blinking light on the front of my bike. You have influenced me to do that and I do feel a bit safer having it. I ride our country back roads and want cars to see me.
Russ, for that Woman Running 🏃♀️ With No Jacket 🧥 on, I am willing to bet that she is From Northern Europe, because I that Northern Europeans are Use To Running Even If It’s Zero Degree Outside for real.
Different category of bikes. The Zebra has better components on that bike, but the Engwe costs less. Value-wise, this is a better choice. Higher quality-wise, the Zebra is the better choice. The Zebra is a 20 ah battery vs the 16 ah battery on the Engwe. You get more range with the Zebra. Max load is 400 lbs on the Zebra and 330 lbs on the Engwe.
Hi there! I have mine 2 days now. The handle bars keep wanting to turn to the left. I loosen the spiral cable binders and loosen the cables a bit. It still keeps turning to the left. It seems like there is an alignment issue with the front fork. Anyone experience this?
I think the step thru would be better for you. I am 5’10” with an inseam of around 31”. I can barely clear the top tube. It would be no problem with a step thru version.
If you install a rear bag or basket, could you mount it as a step thru, or is the top tube too high? I guess depends on rider's height. Was your camera too low this time?
I got around after 13 miles of usage to provide my thoughts on my step thru version of the E26 followed with a short ride! I’ve watched others reviews of this bike and I pretty much fall in line with the others. Feel free to check it out anyone interested
Good morning Russ! This is off subject a little bit, but did you get the liner for your Xnito bike helmet, if so, how do you like it? I love my Xnito helmet, but now that the temps have dropped here in the Hoosier State, I am going to have to get something for underneath my bike helmet, mainly because I don't enjoy the cold air blowing through my scalp! LOL
Yes, leaves can be very slippery and they also conceal hazards. The worst are pine needle falls, you need to slow down a lot to be safe, especially when turning.
i have a E-Bike throttle wide open is 20 mph. but pedal assist i can reach speeds up to 24 mph.. you should try that and see how fast it goes using pedal assist !
I was thinking that as well. Some bikes follow the true class 3 rating in that the throttle will assist to 20 mph but you can pedal assist to 28. Other bikes can be throttled to 28 mph. I will test that aspect again and report on the next video ride with it. Thanks.
Engwe has not told me if it is or not, but many are water resistant, but the display screens may not be. I would always try to protect the display screen from any kind of water.
Looks like a nice bike for the price point, and the yellow/blk paint scheme makes it stand-out. Not much/any detailed info on their display that I could find. Does the display show distance traveled, battery level, pas mode, etc? I'm using Rad's display as a comparison. Looking at their website, the additional $50 was offered between Sept 11-24. 🤔
The display can toggle the odometer, trip distance, max speed and average speed. Battery level and PAS isalso displayed. No wattage level usage however.
@@RussIsRight Would be the step-over version if/when I order it. I've ridden my grandson's RadExpand5 step-thru, and it always seems like somethings missing not having a crossbar there. Guess I'm just "old school", lol.
I believe you can in the advanced functions of the menu. However, I have not made these adjustments. I do see P-1, P-2, P-3, P-4, P-5 and each seem to have a percentage attached to them.
Hey Russ this is the best deal out there. You get a lot of bike for $1,199, nice design, display AND with the Russ Is Right stamp👍Love the colors too. I wished this was available when I first bought an ebike 3 years ago. Quality issues on the rear fender (nuts and bolts) though but can be overlooked bc of the price$$$. Great review video.
Dual is a poor choice of words. If you look at their website, while they call it a dual suspension, they are referring to a front fork suspension and a suspension seatpost. FULL suspension bikes more often refer to front fork suspension with a rear frame suspension. They don't call it a full suspension bike, but they could have made it clearer that their "dual" suspension refers to a seat post suspension with the front fork suspension. While the word choice of "Dual" could have been better, the webpage does say it is "front and seat suspension".

Another good review for a bike of good value. They didn't offer bikes with these features when I bought mine and paid a lot more. Love that bell!

Flashing handlebar lights are worth having.
This bike earned the RRR seal of approval, congrats to Engwe.

£1.400 in the Uk

2 yrs ago, something like this would have been in the $2,000 range
That E-Bike looks like it is Prefect for a very very very very Tall Person for real, my Brothers and Sisters, And Russ.
👍
Would this bike be as good as the himiway Zebra? Thanks for the video.

May I ask, do you have add the chain lube on the E26?
It is a good idea to lub any chain.
@@RussIsRight Thank you😃
I like the look of that bike. what the angle of the hill. they should measure from center of top tube. I like the yellow.
Don’t know the angle.
Please, how can I bring back the maximum speed to 25km speed Because I can't pedal with the maximum which is lawful in germany.
I don’t know. I sold the bike so I can’t check it out. You might want to contact Engwe for advice. Sorry.
Great video.
Cruise control ?
Not on this ebike.
Great rewiew! Is good for 5,7ft? thx

Top tube is too high to mount as a step through. Camera angle was off a little.

Sure thing! Let me know how you like it.

If the fallen leaves get wet, does that make it slippery for the tires as you turn or brake? I never get falling leaves here.
Yes, leaves can be very slippery and they also conceal hazards. The worst are pine needle falls, you need to slow down a lot to be safe, especially when turning.
Yes, it can be slippery.
Got mine…not sure I like how you feel like your having to hunch over to much to reach the handlebars. Wish you could raise the handlebsrs
You could always get a handlebar extender. They sell them on Amazon. Not expensive at all.

Do you know the model for the display lcd screen. Trying to find a video on how to unlock it and change the assist and stuff thru the p settings.
I do not know.
is it water resistant ? Because on the website there is no information and it would a shame if something goes wrong in the rain.
Engwe has not told me if it is or not, but many are water resistant, but the display screens may not be. I would always try to protect the display screen from any kind of water.
Isn’t too small and stay close? I would like to have more options on frame sizes from chinese producers
Producers like Scott, Specialized or Cube offer more frame sizes and write S, M ; L wich is important@@RussIsRight

@retnav92 Step thru or step over version?

Also sorry for the ?s but I keep seeing some videos saying this is a 250 w e-bike? Isn’t it 750?
It is a 750 watt motor that peaks at 1000 watts.
Thanks for this review - just ordering mine now. Where did you purchase the throttle trigger from? Thanks again
It was 3D printed at a local library. Watch this video. The file is in the description of the video. ua-cam.com/video/OPPBwhGP-Ns/v-deo.html
Is this bike from 2018 or just using only technology from that year?
It is a new bike.
I can’t even get the 1099.00. Did the sale end and its 1149.00 with the discounts?
That is the discounted price. It is $1299 regular with $150 off. Which makes it $1149
Same bell as sold by RockBros.
Yeah, I know most parts come from other sources.
Ok russ just put the bike together and have battery charge…how in the world do u out the battery back in? I put it in and it isn’t flush and secure
Put the back of the battery into the opening first, then slide the front into the opening, turn the key and it's in.
You will achieve top speed (28/30)if you pedal with no throttle.
Whats meant to be fastend to the front looks like there mean t to be 4 bolts in or something
Optional front basket
Can u adjust the PAS level on each level? The %

Sighs, no mention whatsoever about battery depletion and range achieved while you were riding. 😒
Oh yea, one more thing, phantom bike’s calls it a cruiser style.
So it seems they all have a different name for this kind of bike.
Russ ur $50 code aint working for me
It should automatically remove the $50 after you add to cart. That is what I noticed.
This looks like a fat tire Jasion EB5 Roamer.
I don't love metal fenders for safety
Why do they lie and claim it’s dual suspension? Wonder what else they lie about
