@@shuriken4852 well, I'm not a native speaker, so that's an extra layer of problems to not only hearing but also understanding what's sung. But the problem here is not only being able to understand what is sung (i.e. the text), but also *how* it is sung. If the voice drowns in a sea of "noise" (okok, quite a few instruments played at the same time as the voice, and even louder than it) the quality of the singer becomes less and less noticable. At least for me. But maybe our host in this channel can differentiate better than me? (For my usage of "noise" above: take a spectrogram around 4:25 (Simone) and 7:25 (Michael). The third one is Marcela Bovio from Mexico. She now lives in the Netherlands. She does a lot of vocals in Ayreon. She was the singer of Stream of Passion, that also started as a project by Ayreon's mastermind Arjen Lucassen. But the band continued after their first album as a band of their own. You should really check them out, one of my favorite symphonic metal bands. She has also some solo albums and she's a vocal teacher (and such a nice person). Right now, she's one of the 2 female vocalists of MaYaN, the second band of Mark Jansen (not related to Floor but also in After Forever with Floor at the time) and Ariën van Weesenbeek from Epica. Worth checking out. Very dense, even chaotic at a first listen, but extremely good, especially live. And Marcela sang backing vocals for another Ayreon side.-project "The Gentle Storm" feat. Anneke, but only on the live shows, not on the studio versions. She was a founding member of Anneke's band Vuur, but she left in the middle of songwriting, as it wasn't quite her style. If I remember correctly, she also appeared in MAiden united, an accoustic Iron Maiden cover / tribute band, also worth chekcing out. Right now, Marcela is working on a new album with her new project called Dark Horse White Horse.

Anneke came through as a co-headliner with Delain last year and I finally got to hear her live because she doesn't get very many reasons to come to Texas 😂
Anneke is the reason Floor started singing symfonic metal! And Anneke will be featuring in the last solo show Floor still needs to perform and will record.
Marcela Bovio is one of my favorite metal female singers, she is amazing, her voice is angelical, I recommend you her last metal band, Stream of Passion.

Elvann Ha ha. This inspired me so that I decided to listen JT: "A little light music" acoustish live CD from 1992 for a long long time. Ugly men but they'll do this time. 😆

A Mexican Singer from Hydra and now Mayan, a dutch 👀 symphonic metal band...😁 A flute is nice in the music, me thinks with your music aswell 🤘 Thnx for this collaboration, you should both do that more often..it is a good way to wake up 🤪..ehm 😎 ...Thnx 👊
soooo nice that you approve anneke so much. absolutely underrated! also in her own country! please react to more of her :) no suggestions, but if i must, gathering has 2 wonderful concerts on dvd, a noise severe and a sound relief....beautiful!
Anneke is the inspirator for Floor Jansen and Simone Simons, she was the first of the Dutch ladies fronting a Metal band .. Charlotte Wessels, Sharon den Adel, Floor Jansen, Dianne van giersbergen ( not related ) Marcella Bovio the wine haired third singer here :) ( born Mexican )... taname a few all followed Anneke's example
So great you saw Anneke live, I've seen her a few times (The Gathering, Agua de Annique and acoustic during an intimite livingroomconcert), she is such a sweet person ♥️ Try her version of "Jest Oldu", a song she sang during the last season of Beste zangers for Karsu, another awesome Dutch/Turkish singer. She rocks it🙃
Love this video. Never heard this before, I'm shocked. I'd love to see your reaction to Xandria. Particularly to Queen of Hearts Reborn, or something like that. Stay safe, darling.
Hello! Oh yes, Anneke should receive more attention, especially because she was one of the first (if no the first) female singer to lead a metal band, and singers like Floor have mentioned her to be an inspiration to them! In that sense, have you hear her band VUUR? They have an amazing song and video of a song call "My Champion - Berlin ". That would be an amazing reaction to watch! Also, I Love your videos :-)., so thank you.
The third singer it's Marcela Bovio. She's been part of many Arjen's or Anneke project(Ayreon, Steam of Passion, VuuR, The Gentle Storm) . Also she's in Mayan, the side project of Mark Jansen (ex- After-Forever, Epica). Lately, she fighting a cancer and, good news she's now clean. No more cancer!
This singer is Marcela Bovio. She is an amzing singer too and joined Ayreon often. Ayreon is basically not a band but just on dutch guy, Arjan Anthony Lucassen. He is the writing all the songs and plays in the studio all instruments himself except for drums and the classical instruments. Then he invites famous vocalists from all over the globe to play/ sing a character on his albums. This is from an Ayreon show, quite rare as Ayreon hardly plays live on stage..
Beautiful reaction!! A cover of this in your voice and Harp Will be amazing!! I hope that you considere it please! Thanks Elvann! Grettings from México :D
If you like Anneke's voice and acouctic music, she did a couple 'quarantine' perfomances online recently. You may want to check them out, if you haven't already. - Quarantalks at M-PX (includes Valley of the Queens) ua-cam.com/video/7LqT0jDi7P8/v-deo.html - The Isolation Sessions (includes new unreleased song!) ua-cam.com/video/08V43L98whU/v-deo.html
Thanks for giving credit to Anneke and Marcela Bovio. Most reactions focus on Floor and barely mention "the other 2 singers". Marcela had this band Elfonia, they used to open concerts in México for The Gathering back in the 2000's. Hope you can react to the aswell.
Anneke isn't underrated by me. 😉 I have yet to bask in her reflected glory in person - but she did a great acoustic set on UA-cam recently. She debuted a new song, and made me bawl with My Mother Said. If she'd played The Blower's Daughter that would have finished me off. 😭 And you are the second of my subscriptions to be doing this one today. I feel spoiled by my favourite ladies 😘❤️(Tauri Reacts is the other).
@@ElvannReacts I've loved since I first heard her a couple of years ago. She and Floor spoil my ears with their aural gorgeousness....and they're both beautiful to my eyes. 😍
The third singer is Marcela Bovio. You should check Ayreon (Stream of Passion) Out in the Real World Live in Tilburg 2019 video, from the band's latest live release.
That's the beauty of reaction vid's - tube is overfilled with bands and performers, that I'd never know to listen, now Anneke used kyuosho jutsu and clicked some pressure point. Now I ho over UA-cam pages and search her songs too - unfair (but marvellous)
The third singer is Marcela Bovio, a great mexicano singer that plays with Ayreon, MaYan and a band called Stream of Passion, please check Delirio from them and check her great voice
Marcella is from the Dutch band MaYan formed by Mark Jansen. Yes that is the same Mark Jansen from After Forever & Epica. I guess he like to stay busy being in Epica and MaYan at the same time. Also I would say you are correct Anneke is amazing and truly underrated. I love how she can sing so well even when flashing that cheshire cat grin of hers.
And the Druids Turn to Stone might be one you like from this concert as well. Damian Wilson sings it perfectly I think and it is also a very atmospheric piece.
The 3rd red-head girl is a mexican compatriot singer who has sung into a lot of projects like Ayreon, Stream Of Passion (her ex-band), The Gentle Storm, MaYan and more. I definitely suggest you to listen some of her songs
The new song i'm recommending to every reaction channel: MaYaN - Saints Don't Die ua-cam.com/video/qTB8hM5T4sk/v-deo.html 5 (!) different style singers !! People known from other bands you've already heard of !!
Found another one with a solo from Marcela. "Tides of Time" live at Sandlane with Coen (keyboardplayer from Epica): ua-cam.com/video/iL_P6VBJJH4/v-deo.html
Marcela (as others here already told you who she is) sang lead in the song "Theory of Everything", the same concert (Ayreon Universe). Check it out, it's awesome. The whole show is, actually. I wish you did more reactions on it. There's a whole army of excellent singers performing there. You'd love it. edit: grammar
Anneke has done a lot of work with Devin Townsend which is awesome. Try Grace, live at Retinal Circus, or Hyperdrive live in London. Have you done Somewhere live by Within Temptation with Anneke guesting?
Marcela Bovio is a Mexican singer currently residing in the Netherlands and serving as a singer in the Symphonic Death Metal band MaYan, which was co-founded by guitarist Mark Jansen of Epica & Floor's former bandmate in After Forever. She Just announced that she is now cancer free after a nasty scare.
Marcela Bovio is a beautiful singer too, she had a symphonic metal band called Stream of Passion, I love this band, the lyrics, the songs are amazing. Maybe you can check this band.
@@ElvannReacts Yes, do so. Marcela is really fantastic. She is mexican, but lives in the netherlands for many years now. She was the lead singer of STEAM OF PASSION, another project of Arjen A. Lucassen (Ayreon-mastermind), where she also played some violin on stage. (They played some Ayreon stuff on tour too. Here a link to Valley of the queens - the girl on the right is Marcelas sister Diana: ua-cam.com/video/EJgthkfxVjc/v-deo.html) And she was 2nd voice THE GENTLE STORM, again a project of Arjen and Anneke. As mentioned above nowadays Marcela is in MaYaN, a sideproject of Marc Jansen from Epica - great stuff, but really heavy. One male, two female singers + two male shouters/growlers. I saw them live last year. Also I saw Marcela several times as one of the backing vocals in the german ROCK MEETS CLASSIC project. All of that fantastic music you should watch & could react to. Love you, your music and your reactions. 😘❤️

Marcella Bovio is another astonishing singer in the Netherlands .Listen to her group Stream of Passion. The song "I have a right" is an absolute masterpiece.
Nice collab reaction. Seeing your recognition of Anneke and Floor was great. Marcela Bovio is the third. She was in Gentle STorm ua-cam.com/video/2q2Wx5H6wkg/v-deo.html and in Stream of Passion (with her sister: they also performed Valley of the Queens ua-cam.com/video/EJgthkfxVjc/v-deo.html) as well.
I’m suprised Anneke didn’t do this song at Tuska. This arrangement is a bit different than the album version. There are more vocal harmonies and a lead flute, instead of a synth. The song is off of the album Into the Electric Castle. Recently Ayreon released the live performance of the entire album, recorded last year. That version is with Anneke on sole lead vocals (as on the album) and with another amazing, but different, flute performance. Marcella had choir duties on these shows, but she is a professional singer in her own right. She has solo work, bands and have done a ton on Ayreon over the years. She did the part as Wife on the album The Human Equation, and also reprised that on the live performance The Theatre Equation. You can find some of that on UA-cam. The other two choir singers were Floor’s siste Irene, and Lisette van den Berg, from the band Scarlet Stories. Marcella arranged the choir vocals. I really love how every Ayreon concert is different, because it’s like once every two years, and the musicians are a bit different on every occasion.
Thanks to Anneke, I was able to come to love The Gathering which opened my eyes to new worlds of music. As far as I know, she is THE trailblazer that made way for the likes of Floor and Tarja. And she's pretty damn good in her own right. ;)
If I may suggest some more react options: Myles Kennedy, lead singer of Alter Bridge and Slash ft. Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators - Alter Bridge - Blackbird (Wembley 2011 performance) - Alter Bridge - Words Darker Than Their Wings (Royal Albert Hall 2017 performance) - Alter Bridge - Watch Over You (acoustic version, Amsterdam 2008 performance) Marko Saaresto, lead singer of Poets of the Fall - Poets of the Fall - Carnival of Rust (Moscow 2013 performance) - Poets of the Fall - My Dark Disquiet (ua-cam.com/video/AaXr0hegC4I/v-deo.html) - Poets of the Fall - Cradled in Love (Moscow 2013 performance) Alter Bridge is a hardrock band from the US. Three of the band members were in Creed and I was a huge fan of them, so when they broke up in 2003 I was quite sad about it. However, in hindsight I'm extremely happy, because a year later Myles joined as lead singer and they started making awesome music. They're one of my favorite bands till this day. Poets of the Fall is another favorite of mine. They're big in Finland, but even in The Netherlands where I live they're quite unknown, usually performing for about 600 or so people. They're truly amazing though, one of the very few band where I can't name a song I dislike even if I tried. I'm lucky enough to have seen AB three times and POTF five times live so far, and they're absolutely amazing live. Their lead singers are some of the very best rock singers out there currently, definitely worth the listen. :)
I was actually just wondering if anyone ever did reactions to Ayreon...This was such a surprise! Please react to this one! ua-cam.com/video/r5IitoFXc7E/v-deo.html
She's probably enjoying herself thoroughly on stage, singing with Floor and Marcela, because who wouldn't? She's probably also very proud on top of that, remember that Anneke is a few years older than the other ladies and has served as an inspiration for many female leads in metal at one point or another. She's the main reason Floor does what she does, for example.
Love this! I’ve been a huge Floor and Anneke fan for about 20 years. Had the privilege to see Anneke acoustic last year and also for her 25th anniversary. And also besides several Nightwish gigs I had the privilege to see Floor’s solo concert last January. They are both fantastic singers, they are even better live than on any recording I’ve ever heard. Love them! Also love love love Ayreon and Marcella! ❤️❤️❤️

Her name is Marcela Bovio, and she is a Mexican singer, songwriter and vocal technique nerd. Nine years ago she left her hometown Monterrey and moved to Holland to follow her heart and further pursue a career in music. She has worked in metal and progressive rock for quite some time; you might know her from her work with Stream of Passion, Ayreon and The Gathering, or you might have seen her on stage performing with bands like The Gentle Storm, MaYaN and Maiden uniteD. On my solo projects she explore a more atmospheric and dreamy side of music, and combine classical musical influences with her rock and prog background. www.marcelabovio.com
Same song, solo only Marcela Bovio (the 3rd lady 😜) live in a living room (2018), and keyboards: ua-cam.com/video/Aby2K83h4tQ/v-deo.html And if you like the Prog.music of Ayreon: The Source is the 9th studio album from Ayreon, a progressive metal/rock opera project by Dutch musician Arjen Anthony Lucassen, released on April 28, 2017. ‘The Day That The World Breaks Down’ is a song that features all 11 (well known) main guest singers (incl. James Labrie, Tommy Karevik, Russel Allen, Floor Jansen, Simone Simons and 6 more) and is taken from that album. Arjen himself is telling (in subtitles) who the singers are and which instrument are used and by what standards. Btw. The clip is 13 min. Long and I think you won’t regret it !! Official (Arjen’s) clip: ua-cam.com/video/oFuMKdrzPqU/v-deo.html
When Tull's Crest Of A Knave won the Hard Rock/Metal Grammy over Metallica, Anderson took out an ad in Variety that said "The Flute is a Heavy, Metal, Instrument" poking fun at both the silliness of the grouping of the awards, and those ranting about the Snub of Metallica by claiming Jethro Tull wasn't Hard Rock or Metal.

A flute is nice in the music, me thinks with your music aswell 🤘
Thnx for this collaboration, you should both do that more often..it is a good way to wake up 🤪..ehm 😎
...Thnx 👊
Hey thanks! We really did enjoy doing this video together!! It was so fun, and we chose the perfect song for that!!
another awesome Ayreon song that features not 3 but 11 main singers is The Day That The World Breaks Down ua-cam.com/video/oFuMKdrzPqU/v-deo.html
soooo nice that you approve anneke so much. absolutely underrated! also in her own country! please react to more of her :) no suggestions, but if i must, gathering has 2 wonderful concerts on dvd, a noise severe and a sound relief....beautiful!
Annekes voice is just so piercing and original. Love it the most of them all, tbh. Altho I do love them all.
Beautiful song. Instrumentals and vocals. Came over from Heline's site.
I agree - Anneke is very much underrated. She s amazing, such a unique tone to her voice
You can find Marcella performing this song by herself in some performances (Anneke recorded it originally as a character named "The Egyptian")
A very beautiful and ancient sounding song. I thought you would appreciate this song. I could hear you doing a harp version of this song.
- Quarantalks at M-PX (includes Valley of the Queens) ua-cam.com/video/7LqT0jDi7P8/v-deo.html
- The Isolation Sessions (includes new unreleased song!) ua-cam.com/video/08V43L98whU/v-deo.html
Great reaction! Ayreon is one of my favorite musical projects. You should check out Ayreon - Garden of Emotions Live
Thanks for giving credit to Anneke and Marcela Bovio. Most reactions focus on Floor and barely mention "the other 2 singers". Marcela had this band Elfonia, they used to open concerts in México for The Gathering back in the 2000's. Hope you can react to the aswell.
Yes! Anneke, for sure, needs more people discovering her!
Her voice is wonderful!
The Gathering. Travel. Discover.
Floor is, as always, perfect.
YAAAYYY... A new video 😍 Heya, Elvann... I hope you're up and well...
Helloo!! :D I am, thanks!! ;)
The third is Marcela Bovio. She played with Stream of Passion, and at some point she was about to play with Anneke in Vuur.
Really amazing, Ayreon never disappoints...
I feel she's not being talked about enough in general, she's really solid!
@@ElvannReacts I've loved since I first heard her a couple of years ago. She and Floor spoil my ears with their aural gorgeousness....and they're both beautiful to my eyes. 😍
Heline Tauri and Elvann doing the same song at the same day... what is happening...am i dreaming? Thought i woke up already...🤔
@@Syp74 I think they're plotting something.. 😉
@@ChrisPage68 🤣 was thinking the same...
The third singer is Marcela Bovio. You should check Ayreon (Stream of Passion) Out in the Real World Live in Tilburg 2019 video, from the band's latest live release.
You know you have two legends on stage when Marcella Bovio is the backup vocalist.
Lovely. and BTW: Helene sent me ... along with many others.
The new song i'm recommending to every reaction channel:
MaYaN - Saints Don't Die
ua-cam.com/video/qTB8hM5T4sk/v-deo.html
5 (!) different style singers !!
Needed more flute!
Anneke has done a lot of work with Devin Townsend which is awesome. Try Grace, live at Retinal Circus, or Hyperdrive live in London. Have you done Somewhere live by Within Temptation with Anneke guesting?
Nice reaction Elvann!
The third singer is Marcella, she does a lot of Ayreon.
Marcela Bovio is her name and she does sing in MaYaN too.
Ohh I didn't know her before! I'll definitely check her up! Her voice does sound familiar to me, I might have heard her in previous Ayreon songs then!
Here a link to Valley of the queens - the girl on the right is Marcelas sister Diana: ua-cam.com/video/EJgthkfxVjc/v-deo.html)
And she was 2nd voice THE GENTLE STORM, again a project of Arjen and Anneke.
Elvann since you prefer acoustic versions check out Stream Of Passion Acoustic:

War of our own ua-cam.com/video/m_ZqKUcoB3w/v-deo.html
Anneke with Devin Townsend when they sing IH-Ah is one of my favorite things
Marcella Bovio is another astonishing singer in the Netherlands .Listen to her group Stream of Passion. The song "I have a right" is an absolute masterpiece.
Valley of the Queens by Marcela Bovio: ua-cam.com/video/Aby2K83h4tQ/v-deo.html
Here is the third red haired singer ;) Attention, it can blow u away!!!
Nice collab reaction. Seeing your recognition of Anneke and Floor was great. Marcela Bovio is the third. She was in Gentle STorm ua-cam.com/video/2q2Wx5H6wkg/v-deo.html and in Stream of Passion (with her sister: they also performed Valley of the Queens ua-cam.com/video/EJgthkfxVjc/v-deo.html) as well.
ohhhh wait that's where I recognized her voice from!!!!!!!
And she's pretty damn good in her own right. ;)
Goosebumps all over 😍
If I may suggest some more react options:
Myles Kennedy, lead singer of Alter Bridge and Slash ft. Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators
- Alter Bridge - Blackbird (Wembley 2011 performance)
- Alter Bridge - Words Darker Than Their Wings (Royal Albert Hall 2017 performance)
- Alter Bridge - Watch Over You (acoustic version, Amsterdam 2008 performance)
Marko Saaresto, lead singer of Poets of the Fall
- Poets of the Fall - Carnival of Rust (Moscow 2013 performance)
- Poets of the Fall - My Dark Disquiet (ua-cam.com/video/AaXr0hegC4I/v-deo.html)
- Poets of the Fall - Cradled in Love (Moscow 2013 performance)
Alter Bridge is a hardrock band from the US.
Collision Ayreon Marko Hietala & Tommy Karevik. Marko & Tommy singing together is pure joy.
Heline sent me, new sub!
Very cool reaction! Your such a beautiful lady!
Thank you Maddie!!! ❤️❤️
The Gathering - Strange Machines live Pinkpop 1993 Anneke as a 20 year old girl fronting a Metalband :D
I was actually just wondering if anyone ever did reactions to Ayreon...This was such a surprise!
Please react to this one!
ua-cam.com/video/r5IitoFXc7E/v-deo.html
Anneke couildn't contain her smile, she even laughed during singing?! :)
This happiness is sooooo contagious. I’ve seen Vuur live two years ago, I remember that I’ve smiled all concert long.
@@RudyBleeker thank you for your insightful comment! :)
Anneke always smiling on stage. If you need posivity in your day, watch a live gig with Anneke.
@@barbamamance8561 Truer words were never spoken!
Hi, Elvann. I recommend the song Dhyana by Mayan. The singer is Marcela Bovio in operatic style. You'll love it!
Came here from Heline's Vid! Hi!
You should check out Anneke's solo version of " valley of the queens" in New York
hello my darlyn ( lucha aymar loocks like :) ) the redhead is marcela bovio, is a mexivan singer, wife of de creator aeryon band, and is a beutifull singer. greatings from argentina
There is a newer version of ayreon - valley of the queens (Electric castle and other tales 2020) with anneke van giersbergen and the flutist thijs van leer (focus).
This is the Anneke´s caracter duying final song from Ayreon´s the electric castle album
loooooove your video :-) Marcela bovio she had an famous band called Stream of Passion. Please listen to the songs of Stream of passion and there are two solo albums of marcela bovio too. she is a soprano great singer. she is from mexico but lives in netherlands.
Marcella Bovio the third singer also backed Anneke in The Gentle Storm. She is amazing ua-cam.com/video/_qpseRKIYuE/v-deo.html . Arjen also had a hand in that band. Anneke asked him to help her put the album together.
After Floor was in Beste Zangers, next season had Anneke featured, and she sang in Turkish, please reactt o that one
Did you know that two of the singers have performed with devin townsen a fellow canadian singer..?? And one of them has afew Duetts with devin...
Piccallo for the win Elvann :)
One step closer to finding the Eye of Ra.
Floor looking proud. Knewing she made a good job. 6:47
I love Marcela!!! ... but Anny & Floor too... XD
Hello, you may have seen/heard it already but if not "Epica accoustic pinkpop 2014" (one of their accoustics), and if you want to do Epica in general i wouldn't mind :p.
Best regards.
Ayreon - The Day That The World Breaks Down (with 11 singers)
she might actually recognize a few of them. Here is the link. ua-cam.com/video/oFuMKdrzPqU/v-deo.html
I would classify Floor as a Dramatic soprano,if she can even be classified!!
More Anneke live and badass - Gentle Storm - Storm (live masters of rock 2015) There Marcella is also singing.
Same song, solo only Marcela Bovio (the 3rd lady 😜) live in a living room (2018), and keyboards: ua-cam.com/video/Aby2K83h4tQ/v-deo.html
And if you like the Prog.music of Ayreon: The Source is the 9th studio album from Ayreon, a progressive metal/rock opera project by Dutch musician Arjen Anthony Lucassen,
released on April 28, 2017. ‘The Day That The World Breaks Down’ is a song that features all 11 (well known) main guest singers (incl. James Labrie, Tommy Karevik, Russel Allen, Floor Jansen, Simone Simons and 6 more) and is taken from that album. Arjen himself is telling (in subtitles) who the singers are and which instrument are used and by
what standards.
Opera Rock. From Spain please. React to Camilo Sesto: Getsemani ( live 1977 ).
