    As a pilot and a cat lover, this video covers the things I love most in life. Love that black kitty! Love aviation! The balance between kitty and aviation is off here but understandably so. Unlikely that many come to an aviation channel to see cats, plenty of channels for that sort of thing. Still it's a nice bonus for someone like me. Nice to see so many women in aviation as well. I'm a PPL holder and fly for fun and travel, but my sweetheart is a career commercial pilot. She taught me to fly actually. Wanted to share something she loved with me, she gave me a gift I will forever cherish.

    P.S. Your nervousness in your first video is quite endearing. I'm hoping for more content on your channel in the future. Rock on...

    Hi Captain. Loving the nightlanding view from the cockpit. I was allowed once (before 9-11) actualy to stay in the cockpit strapped in the jumpseat/observerseat behind the thruttle of a 737 and experienced a nightlanding at AMS coming in from CDG (EuroDisney winter holliday). An experience I'll never ever forget being a guy that dreamt of becoming a pilot but never realised. Your clip's view reminded me so so much of that moment, all the emotions that I felt in the cockpit together with the male senior capt and the female fo. During this retour flight I was actualy seated at the very rear of the cabin, no seats behind me. I talked my way in to the cockpit. Instant click between us 3, captain was so down to earth and with a great scense of humor too. He asked me to rate his landing on a scale of 10 and during the route to the gates it was not very cleared which gate was assigned so he replied to the fo joking: "shall we just pick one then?" Fo "I guess so" Capt "or maybe we shouldn't, don't think groundcrew will appreciate us crashing wingtips on their stuff along the way" lol, so funny. After connecting to the gate and all instruments back on cold the 3 of us kept chatting so long in the cockpit that the cfa dropped in and informed us that the cabin crew was waiting for me to exit as there was nobody else on board anymore by that time lol. So from being seated at the very end of the 737 at take off I ended in the cockpit for the landing! @Pilot Emilie I salute you from The Netherlands and thanks for sharing your aviation world captain!

    Not a pilot and don't watch many flying vids. I have mad respect for all pilots. A buddy of mine is a captain with United, so hear a lot from him. I'm a cat dude, so loved your quick shot of little ninja. Just lost my black cat a couple months ago...just like losing family. One of my fav YTs is a car channel (DDE with nearly 2 mil subs). They often fly from Victoria/Vancouver to Kelowna. Best of luck to you on your flying career and YT channel! Just passing by. :)

    I came upon this channel because of the FS 2020 and 3:59 finally answerd what i was wondering the last few weeks: In the Simulator hitting L switches ALL lights on, but landing lights really works similar to a cars headlights "full beam" on the runway and when you enter taxiways you switch to "dimmed beam" like you would drive into a village with a car. Greets and Thanks from Bavaria/Germany.

    Very nice to see Calgary from the air at night. You may let the video run in realtime and put comments in about what we see, what you pilots are doing and other traffic around us. The flight time is not very long just for the last trip over the city, and the colours are quite beautiful, so I would welcome a longer video from you. Be safe, Emilie.

    • @mikep9604
      @mikep9604 5 років тому +1

      The usual procedure is that it's not allowed to make videos in the cockpit when there are passengers on the aircraft. She would also need the permission from the ATC personnel to present that communication.
      Then there are the airline regulations. Usually the airline doesn't allow to make videos in the cockpit. I know that there are videos on youtube, but it depends totally on the policy of the airline. If the airline has the policy that it's not allowed to make videos in the cockpit, then the pilot can't do anything for it.

      @@mikep9604 ATC communications are accessible online. Some of what you're saying is true, but you can totally record them if you want. It's just a LOT of work to record & edit videos with audio, that's all!

    • @mikep9604
      @mikep9604 5 років тому

      @@Pilotemilie - Thanks! I had a misconception because I heard some airline pilot saying that he can't present the communication without permission, but now it's clear that he was just talking about his company's policy regarding the videos. Thanks for correcting.
      I have been under EASA regulations and sometimes there seems to be some minor differences between e.g. FAA and EASA regulations.

You should do a Q&A video those are very popular and will help your channel grow faster because you'll learn about what your audience actually likes. Not that it matters much I think it's more important to post videos you would want to watch yourself.

    I'll have to try out that approach once I'm able to actually nail a landing in FS2020 (constantly coming short, keyboard controls suck so I am getting a stick and throttle controller soon), hopefully you'll be back in the air soon as things are slowly starting to return to normal, its a shame that I'll probably never get you as my pilot as I try not to fly on dash-8's, did it once and cracked my head on the overhead compartment when I stood up so I try to avoid them now nothing personal.

    For as long as I remember the Runway numbering designation for the main North-South runway at YYC was always 34/16. I guess magnetic north has shifted enough to require a rare change in designation. But then again I haven't lived there since 1986. So no idea when it changed....there also weren't parallel North-South runways back then only 34/16 , 10/28 and 07/25.

    As a pilot in the UK I have to agree with Rob Maza and Molson Canadians. Yes it's nice to see the view from the office but definitely get rid of the music and let us hear the cross crew chat and A~TC comms.

    Beautiful night approach! I'll be trying that on the P3Dv5 simulator with the Majestic Dash8 Q400.

    Love you and your content, less music, more conversation from the cockpit and explain radios and instruments.

    It would be awesome if you would post videos like this and then a follow up recreating the flight in the sim!

    Hi love this night landing
    Is there any chance you can do a Dash8 tutorial form cold and dark to fully configured for takeoff please 👍

    Great work! Seems like a quite lengthy taxi in. So glad you adopted a black cat. I hate it when cats seem to be viewed as less than dogs and black cats really need love.
