You are without a doubt the most creative and original DIYer on UA-cam. I am enthralled by your videos…..let me just say that as I’m watching them I find my jaw dropping all the time!! Thank you for sharing your talents.
Hands down, the book nook, clock house with miniature furniture is my absolute favorite. You never fail to amaze me Sherry, your creativity knows no boundaries.
As an avid (or is that rabid?) dollhouse lover, I just loved your book nook. You used several techniques that I use, too. I would add a desk blotter--black photo triangle corners make great corners--or small triangles of paper with a gold ink line glued to the blotter look nice. I have made ink wells with a dark blue glass bead and a feather, too. A few envelopes, too! Earring posts make great nails to impale bills on and the little backings hold business cards. I save the tiny pictures from the hundreds of extra address labels that my SO receives and make "cards" for all occasions, pictures, and tiny garlands, too.
So many inspiring ideas ❤ I especially love the photo of your grandparents inside the clock, the mouse lamp and glass dome filled with vintage game pieces ❤❤❤
WOW, Sherry! This is my absolute favorite set of projects!! I just LOVE the clock frame, the mouse light 🐭, the book nook w/all it's special miniatures! [Tiny books 📚, fireplace 🔥, rug (w/fringe) 🤯, photographs of your great-grandparents🤵👰, & all of the other amazing touches you added ❤️! INCREDIBLE!!! I MUST go start setting up my own little bookshelf ... NOW!! Thank you for sharing your creativity!❤️❤️❤️ (Thank you for those fantastic links, too. I love the apothecary labels, mini books, butterflies, ...)
Remember how excited we got when our parents took us to the park, and we ran as fast as we could to the playground? This is a crafter's playground! So much fun!!! And I can see the family resemblance--beautiful! Now, I'm tired....😁
Adding the pictures of your great grandparents is such a lovely touch. I have quite a few pictures of both my husband's and my ancestors that we use as wall decor.
We are both lucky to have some photos of our ancestors. I am actually the oldest child of the oldest child of the oldest child, so I actually have a few memories of my great-grandparents. My great-grandmother lived into her nineties. Sadly, my younger brother does not remember them.
This is probably one of my most favourite things I’ve seen you do. I love the items where you’ve put your great grandparents and your great grandmother. It all looks gorgeous. Thanks for sharing Sherri. I really enjoyed this video.
All of the projects are inspired and their stagings are beguiling. I especially love your choice of the print "Maid reading a book" and the frame you used for it.
I LOVE cloches! Anything that's put in them is automatically kicked up several notches. And that photo of your grandmother on the plate is everything. I adore the 3D aspect of it.
I live in a Victorian house in England and I particularly loved this video, especially the ideas of using old family photos. You are so talented and resourceful.
I hope you’ll post pictures to the Canterbury Cottage Facebook page because I would love to see it. I’m sure other viewers would love to see it, too! I am working on my library area (which I’m going to show in next week’s video).
The butterfly project is beautiful...😊 the frame and picture is gorgeous...😊 the clocks you craft with are sensational...your great grandparent's are in a beautiful place to be remembered 😊 the cloche is awesome...😊
Thank you, Linda! 😊 Well, my hands are not very pretty, for sure! 😜 My nails break easily, and I have vitiligo which creates skin discoloration. I have never bothered with manicures-it would just be a waste of money!
Thanks so much, Melissa! Hope you find the perfect container! I love book nooks. They are such a nice alternative to having a big dollhouse (for those of us that love miniatures.)
It was magical when you opened the door to the doll house library/sitting room. Your stash just keeps on giving. Thanks so much for sharing and inspiring.
What fun ideas you had!! I love the clock you put your great grand parent's picture in and the doll house vignette!!! The mouse light too. Such imaginative and beautiful pieces!
Who in the world would think to use magnets and florist wire to make a beautiful art project!!?? YOU OF COURSE! I love your creativity. Every week I can hardly wait to check you out.❤️❤️
Oh my goodness, you are a genius, so talented! I love English libraries and that whole ambience. Your embellishments and decorating ideas were phenomenal. That book nook was my fav and I’ll bet you had a good time making it too. To have an authentic picture of your ancestors made it even more special. I would make sure somewhere there is a label of who they are so the next generation will have a record of who they were. Nothing worse than having old photos and not knowing the family tree. Beautiful job!
Thank you! That’s so true about labeling the pictures. I have a family photo album full of vintage photos, and I have no ideas who most of the people are!
Every time I see you bring out a clock, I get excited! I just loooove what you do with clocks! Sherry, you are absolutely delightful, and your videos never cease to amaze me.
Well you knocked it out of the ballpark! I love this❤️ I may need a mouse too but instead of a butterfly I’d give him a kite 🪁 I just started on my next project too, wish me luck!
You are hands down the most creative person I have ever seen!! This video was absolutely amazing!! The way you added the pictures of your great grandparents was so touching! All the things were unique created by Sherry!!
Oh Sherry as a retired Librarian this really excites me. I miss my library although not an old library, (it was a school Library). I only have room in my little cottage for a couple of book shelves, but feel I could incorporate some of these ideas on those shelves. I especially like the Book Nook Clock an I have stuff I could steal from my Dolls House to create one of these. Thank you for sharing your wonderful creations with us. xx
Oh my goodness! There were so many wonderful ideas in this video. That mouse lamp is darling and the book nook completely charmed me. Your printed rug is one of the most creative ideas I have seen. And I love what you did with the photos of your grandparents.
Oh my gosh Sherry, I just love the artist and you especially the picture of your grandmother. You’re so creative. I’m so glad I found you. I look so forward to every one of your videos.
Love the book nook. That took so much imagination. You are very lucky to have pictures of your great grandparents. I have one picture of my maternal grandparent but none of the others. I know they lived in Ireland but that’s it
Thank you, Patricia! I am the oldest child of the oldest child of the oldest child, so I actually have a few memories of my great grandparents; my great grandmother lived into her nineties.
The book nook is adorable and it made me smile. I would love to read there by the fireplace. 😊 Thanks for sharing your family photos with us, too. Your great grandmother was a beautiful woman, I love her Gibson Girl hairstyle.
Sherri, you amaze me every week with the creative ideas you come up with! I can’t believe how you transform items that appear to have no obvious purpose, into treasures. Thank you!
Bravo! Well done. I have loved academia before it had a name. Before Harry Potter. When i was a child so many years ago, I sneaked a peek into an old retired professors private study. Books and papers everywhere. Display boxes with glass covers and snow white clouds inside held bird eggs I had never seen before...or since, the leather and the worn wood and smell of pipe smoke . I thought this must be what heaven is like. My home has always housed items like those. So I am delighted that farmhouse decor has given way to curated decor. Thank you for a wonderful video!
This was amazing. The details in the book nook are perfection. I am in awe of your creativity. As I watched, I thought "this will be my favorite" and then there was your next project... they are all my favorites.
Good afternoon, Sherry! Yaaaay!!! So excited for this installment! I have a huge crush on dark academia decor. Thank you for indulging us with your beautiful ideas. xoxo, Bobbie. ❤ P.S. I adore miniatures!! The book nook is beyond gorgeous. I have just the piece in my stash to recreate one . The photos of your great-grandparents are a perfect touch, too. ❤❤❤
Good afternoon, Bobbie! I’m so glad you are loving the Dark Academia look, too! My bookcases are freshly painted, and I’ll be redecorating them in next week’s video. I can’t wait for you to see it! It is such a huge transformation. Paint is magic!
I love what you did with the vintage game pieces! I see the 'K' is front and centre...pure coincidence! ahahah There is no level of detail missed when you create a project. The book nook is simply magical. I'm sure your ggrandmother would be quite honored to know her picture was used in such beautiful projects! Much love, my friend!
Hello Kristina, I hope my comment wasn't taken as a form of invasion of your comments privacy. I'm here to make friends, happy new year, how are you? Where are you from?
Sherry, You are so lucky to have pictures of you great grandparents. I had only one of my maternal grandmother and one each of my paternal grandparents, but they got mis box in a move and was found in a box that suffered water damage. I was in the hospital very sick and my husband got one of his friend’s wife to box up our belongings and she didn’t know what I had put in that box and I was going to put it in a water proof container. I had gotten sick and had to go to the ER and was admitted to hospital for a week and we had to be out of that house. My husband had to do what needed to be done. When the guy who found this box, with pictures in it. It had pictures of my son in it also. I was so upset. I cried for a week. Many of my sons baby pictures were gone, but fortunately, I gave pictures of my son to many of the family. I got some pictures back and made copies of the ones I could through the person or company who took the pictures. I would write their name and relationship to you on the back of the plate and clock and possibly the date that the picture was taken. Wedding Date.
Sherry, you are amazingly creative. Once again, you outdid yourself. I can't pick a favorite cause I love each one. Thank you so much for sharing your heart and talent with us all.
Thank you for the video! My favorite décor items are the photos of your beautiful great grandparents, especially your great grandmother! She's very stunning, with her hair and clothes done up to the nines! I always love your videos, but today, this one was extra special. Thank you, again! ☺💖🙏
OMG THE BOOK NOOK WAS SO AWESOME SHERRY! Instantly transformed me to my grandpas library from way back when I was such a little reader. Thank you , loved this video and the music was so intriguing. Might I add that the picture of the maid in the library and the use of your great (i forgot how many greats), grandparents wedding day photo and grandmother was so nostalgic. The brooch was the finishing touch. ❤️❤️
Thank you so much, Granny! That was my great-grandmother. I actually have some memories of her because she lived into her 90’s, and I am the oldest child of the oldest child of the oldest child!
You are the best at creating tiny books and anything you could imagine. I just love watching your channel. Using the bead to make a flower pot was just great
I have always loved this style & granny chic so seeing how you showcase old photos in clocks and your use of light fixtures as cloches is what I want to do too. Also loved your twist on mounted butterflies!!!💕from KS
This is outstanding! You keep outdoing yourself week to week Sherry! My goodness!! How cool to find photos of great grandparents! I want to finish my projects and my husband has just gone thru a pretty big box of old family photos trying to bring them back to life!! Lots to do. So cozy, a cup of tea and a good book 😊 in a life sized book nook AAAAHHH 🤗
You have some great ideas. Junes journey is a fun game isn’t it. When I looked around my apartment I realized that I’d been following that dark academia look without realizing it. I like books, collectables, dark furniture and that cozy feeling it creates.
I love this video !!!! The Little Book Nook is beautiful, love it. Really like the picture frames with photos. This was so interesting to watch. Everything turned out gorgeous. I took our Breakfast Nook and turned it into a Reading Nook. Thank you for sharing
Connie, that’s a fabulous idea! I would love it if you would post a picture on the Canterbury Cottage Facebook group page. I think this would inspire many of my viewers who would like to create a reading nook in their homes. ❤️
Oh dear...I am amazed, not only by your creativity but the fact that your projects are timely and relevant. I, too, have a love of books so the dark academia aesthetic is one that I embrace. I have started to incorporate some decor items into my home (butterfly display, globe, magnifying glass, compass). Now, I can scour some thrift stores to add some of your projects to my decor. Thank you so much!!!
I rarely play games, but for the last few years I’ve played Junes Journey and it’s so much fun and I love that u can play and not have to buy anything!!! The aesthetics are so beautiful too!!!
I love, love, love the tiny "library" room!!!! I don't have the patience one would need, but I could see myself falling into a deep, deep hole collecting tiny things!!! LOL!!! Everything was beautiful.....as usual!!!
I Love miniatures! I have several wooden boxes that held old type pieces (for newspapers) that I have tiny Nativity’s and other things in it! Love your tiny house!
I love how you incorporate actual family photographs into your creations. Very inspiring. Ultimately the very last one is my favorite. I absolutely love how you created the DIY books. So cool.
This is your best video ever!!! This style is up my alley and I hope it means you painted your bookcases dark! Your attention to detail is so amazing. The way you glued a tiny pin onto your Grandmother was epic.
Thank you so much! I am the oldest child of the oldest child of the oldest child, so I actually have a few memories of my great-grandparents. My grandmother lived into her nineties!
Ahhh Sherry, you did it again! All your projects were beautiful but I loved your book nook and your inclusion of your great grandparents in your decor. I love old photographs of family members and I think they are a perfect addition to dark academia. I can hardly wait for your videos each week! ❤😊
All your diy projects were awesome, yet my favourite is definitely the plate with the picture of your great -grandmother.A truly original idea!! Thank you very much for sharing your projects with us!
The little mouse light is the cutest thing I have ever seen. I love it. The book nook is great too. I love the dark cozy colors and feel like the room gives me a hug when I walk into a dark room.
I only discovered your channel a couple of weeks ago and am so in love with your style. Wow you are so talented. I just loved this video and everything you made. That book nook was stunning. The way you made those little books and that rug…. Oh my. Ever since I was a small child I have always wanted a room with wall to wall bookcases overflowing with books. Now that my hubby and I are empty nesters we have a few spare bedrooms. I’m in the process of turning my spare room into a dark academia library so this video will be so handle for me. Thank you. I could watch you create things all day. You are so talented.
My favorites were the pictures of your great grandparents in your frames and also the miniature doll furniture room that you created. I guess it was two rooms but those are my favorite things.
I love that Book Nook. It’s almost like you could sit there in your imagination, warm and cozy with your book and tea. Thank you for sharing your ideas and creativity. See you next week!
I loved what you did with the clock and your great grand parents photo. Lovely display. I bought and old wood clock at a thrift store the other day because of you. It's really nice and has a drawer. I was so happy to find it. I have been looking for one ever since I saw your first clock feature.
Well Sherry you've done it again. I love the book nook. How warm and comforting. A while back I mentioned that I broke both my arms. There were many issues with healing but I accepted that this was going to take a long time to come right again. I am pleased to tell you that I am back working on projects for my Etsy store daily. It is awkward and painful but it gets better every day. Now if I could only stop dropping things. I have a steady hand again and I know I will be like I was. I also do reborn dolls so things like veins, eyelash rooting and painting them takes a lot of artistic talent and it would have broken my heart to have lost that ability. More good news, I will be starting my own UA-cam channel in a month or so. I hope you are well and happy. The best to you and yours.
Thank you so much, Anita! I am so glad to hear that you are doing so well! I have a friend who makes reborn dolls, too. They are so popular! Good luck with starting your UA-cam channel. I sincerely hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Thank you for staying true to your craft. You are the only DIYer, thrifter, decorator that I still subscribe to. Everyone else has become so commercial and create rather odd DIYs.
You are without a doubt the most creative and original DIYer on UA-cam. I am enthralled by your videos…..let me just say that as I’m watching them I find my jaw dropping all the time!! Thank you for sharing your talents.
Wow, thank you! Deb, you are so so sweet! I really appreciate those kind words! 😊
Well said love her😊
I agree wholeheartedly.
I agree
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 agreed!
I just bought a children's butterfly picture book from second hand store for a craft like you showed, perfect timing for the algorithm! 😁
I know I want to be just like you when I grow up. AMAZING YOU ARE!
Kathy, thank you for sharing these ideas! I am going to add a desk blotter and earring post with bills (tomorrow)!
100% Probably the most perfect DIY video I’ve seen. Each project was lovely and the process well documented. Thank you Canterbury Cottage.

All of the projects are inspired and their stagings are beguiling. I especially love your choice of the print "Maid reading a book" and the frame you used for it.
Thank you! 😊 There are so many beautiful vintage art prints available for free. (We just have to find them!)
I loved everything but especially the frame, thanks. Your creativity seems endless!!!
Love the grandmother plate. I did a grandma/grandpa pic in a frame that I love, but yours is better. also the clock is a better idea.
I love that you used personal vintage photos for your projects. It just lends a more authentic touch to the aesthetic.
I LOVE cloches! Anything that's put in them is automatically kicked up several notches. And that photo of your grandmother on the plate is everything. I adore the 3D aspect of it.
Thank you so much! I totally agree! Why were we only using cloches to cover cheese for all these years?!😜
I live in a Victorian house in England and I particularly loved this video, especially the ideas of using old family photos. You are so talented and resourceful.

You have the hands of someone that has used them for work your entire life. I enjoy what those hands can create!
Thank you, Linda! 😊 Well, my hands are not very pretty, for sure! 😜 My nails break easily, and I have vitiligo which creates skin discoloration. I have never bothered with manicures-it would just be a waste of money!
That maid in the library is stunning.that doll house library was the best. Wowza.
Oh, thank you, Terri! 😊
I love how you glued the cameo onto your great-grandmother's photo. Such a cool idea! That book nook is just incredible. So much detail!

Totally, agree! I don’t buy anything. I just stop playing if I run out of energy bars!
The book nook is incredible! Sherri, you are amazing! I am in complete awe of your talents!
Thank you so much! You are so very kind, Lorie! 😊
I love, love, love the tiny "library" room!!!! I don't have the patience one would need, but I could see myself falling into a deep, deep hole collecting tiny things!!! LOL!!! Everything was beautiful.....as usual!!!
Thank you, Sharon! I can relate to the love of tiny things. Why are they so cute?
I Love miniatures! I have several wooden boxes that held old type pieces (for newspapers) that I have tiny Nativity’s and other things in it! Love your tiny house!
I love how you incorporate actual family photographs into your creations. Very inspiring. Ultimately the very last one is my favorite. I absolutely love how you created the DIY books. So cool.
This was an awesome video. You are blessed with so much talent. Thank you for all of these great ideas!
I love how you put your grandparents into the DYI
This is your best video ever!!! This style is up my alley and I hope it means you painted your bookcases dark! Your attention to detail is so amazing. The way you glued a tiny pin onto your Grandmother was epic.
Girl you ARE the Queen of smalls!!👍 I loved 💕the vintage game pieces under cloche on candle stick as riser!
Thank you so much, Susan😊!!
I'd rather see butterflies ALIVE, so KUDOS 2 U... BEAUTIFUL REPLACEMENT 🦋🦋🦋
So creative! I cannot pick a favorite! Absolutely love the pictures of your great grandparents!
Thank you so much! I am the oldest child of the oldest child of the oldest child, so I actually have a few memories of my great-grandparents. My grandmother lived into her nineties!
Loved the picture in the clock!
Thank you, Susan! 😊
Ahhh Sherry, you did it again! All your projects were beautiful but I loved your book nook and your inclusion of your great grandparents in your decor. I love old photographs of family members and I think they are a perfect addition to dark academia. I can hardly wait for your videos each week! ❤😊
Thank you so much! I have painted my bookcases and am redecorating them. I can’t wait to show you the transformation next week!

I Love the old frame with maids photo as well. In fact I absolutely loved everything you did in this video ❣
Thanks so much, Cheryl! 😊
The little mouse light is the cutest thing I have ever seen. I love it. The book nook is great too. I love the dark cozy colors and feel like the room gives me a hug when I walk into a dark room.
Thank you so much! I have painted my bookcases and am redecorating them. I can’t wait to show you in next week’s video. It is quite a transformation!
@@CanterburyCottage I can hardly wait.
Oh my goodness I love the dollhouse! ❤️👍
Thank you, Libby! 😊
I love that Book Nook. It’s almost like you could sit there in your imagination, warm and cozy with your book and tea. Thank you for sharing your ideas and creativity. See you next week!
I ADORE your book-nook miniature library scene. Miniatures are so fun, but this one is better than most, IMO.
Thank you, Sally! 😊
Your craft projects are amazing!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful talents with us ☺️
Thanks so much, Debra! 😊
I loved what you did with the clock and your great grand parents photo. Lovely display. I bought and old wood clock at a thrift store the other day because of you. It's really nice and has a drawer. I was so happy to find it. I have been looking for one ever since I saw your first clock feature.
Sherry, you are so very creative! Each project was amazing!! You are hands down my favorite diyer on UA-cam 💕
I absolutely love the project using your great grandparents picture. That was just beautiful.
I love the clock projects and the maid in the library picture. The book nook is adorable, and the globe with the games pieces is cute.
Thank you so much, Barbara! 😊
❤️ Very very inspiring. ❤️ Thank you for sharing your ideas and creativity with us. ❤️
You are so welcome! Thank you, Anja! 😊
