Guess you can call them anything you want, probably something different in different parts of the country, but in South Alabama, we call Shellcracker, Red-Eared Sunfish.

If you’ve ever got worms in your bass fillets when you clean them then you need to stock some redear to get rid of the snails that cause the issues in the bass.
