A good soldier Matiwaza...saw him 1986 when his soldiers built 6th form hostels at Rio Zhombe High.....To me interview shows a clearly intelligence man...he will say a lot without telling much...Viva Zimbabwe..Well done Zenzele...yet another find....yet another piece to the puzzle...Hlalunjalo..👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Good man. The Matiwazas were a big business family eStitshini aka Plumtree. They were a very significant part of the Black Bukalanga Economy way back then with their terrific football team BLACK HORRORS. Would sneak in to watch them then playing Red Seal Rovers etc. This man is one of our unsung heroes who went through a lot. Great ideas on the struggle to those who are well initiated into it and are listeners knowing what they are looking for.
A very good insight into how much we have had excellent excellent irresponsible people running the business of a beautiful country to ruins!! It can ONLY BE GOD! Three Brigade was under the now Vice President General Chiwenga when I was building Three Brigade Headquarters at Chikanga working for Construction Associates a Lonrho subsidiary!!
Mr Ndebele, ask these warvets if they really understood y they went to war, . Y can't they defend it, now that it's no longer happening. One man one vote ,
Out of all your interviews that l have enjoyed so much, this one is boring lomdala kazwakali ingathi uyafihla okunye. From someone who was a Brigadier,l was hoping to hear more.
I am interested in the mindset of the ZIPRA combatants who stayed in ZNA when Lookout Masuku, Joshua Nkoko and other ZAPU leaders were being persecuted. Why did they stay? Is it because they chose peace, sold out or something else? The retired brigadier sort of avoided talking about that era..
Zipra needed to go in the heartlands not imaginary wars Zanla were at the front and took lot of risks unity was supposed to be done long back not tribalism
The armed civilians that he refers to are the youth brigade that mostly comprised of shona speaking people. They were not trained soldiers but had guns and power to torture and kill. Some are still alive today and most are destitues and living amongst people they tortured. Zanu never took them back to where they came from, they just left them stranded after using them. Torturing and killing was done with the help of trained military people. The youth brigade took part but was mostly used to round up people for meetings using brutal force. It is at these meetings where people were tortured or selected for torturing at other places away from the public eye.
@@sithgasa2063 Who the hell talked about murderer mnangagwa? I only talked about the armed civilians that Matiwaza is refering to. You were probably a toddler and do not know that some of the so called youth brigade were armed but were not part of the army. Read to understand before passing comments.
@@langamzobe5594 You were obviously a toddler and do not know that the so called youth brigade were armed yet they were not part of the defence forces. Most of them are known and were never taken back to their homes after the so called unity accord.
Zenzele, this was a waste of your time..This old man was no where near the war of liberation..He can't remember even one person whom he met in 1969. And he only got military training in 1978... questionable
I think that this man thinks all those who where killed during Kukurawundi by bloody killers of the Shona tribe where not protected by God .You forget that you reap what you saw alikakuboni ! Zenzele it looks like you agreed (off air) that you should not ask certain questions eg his time in the army, persecution if any by the zanu regime. Boring interview full of nothing. How does he speak about Gestapo killings instead of gugurawundi.
