NZ railways, Overlander express Auckland to Hamilton 1992

The Overlander Auckland - Wellington Express, views from the Locomotive. Starts with bringing the service into the old Auckland station, taking a walk through the station foyer past a Maori waka that someone had left there and taking the train to Hamilton.

I remember catching the Northerner from Waiouru to Auckland and back in 86 it was great,Bar was on ,girls hockey team on trip back to Waiouru ,ciggies in open cabin near the end for the workers ,cold double brown big cans and bluebird chips ,great times and cheap travel

Thanks John for showing the section of single track through the swamp area as I now can see how much thy will need to fill with the spoil from the CRL tunnel and hopefully it will happen to help the new H2A service .
