  • The "6/8 Working" craps strategy was submitted by a math statistician as part of my dice advice series. This craps strategy bets the place 6 & 8 with the idea that you just have to roll either number before the 7 rolls four times. This strategy has a total risk of $264.

    Interesting, but I don't see the point of turning off the 6/8 if you win at the first level. You just immediately start over at the first level, i.e., leave them on until you lose to big red. Then progress up. As soon as you when at a higher level, immediately regress to the first level and have them on. Stay there as long as you win. Rinse and repeat. You are then positioned to cash in on strings of 6 or 8s, which we all have seen multiple times. The dice have no memory so the next roll you still have a 10:6 advantage. You may find yourself hitting your win goal sometimes without even risking the higher level bets.

      I tested the theory on this video and if you follow the rule of only going to $90 on each and stopping if you lose, then you will end up losing $88 at roll 18. However, if you allow it to go up one more level, which I am calling $270 each since it seems to be tripling, you will hit that level twice within the span of the video and will come out up $310

      This is classic; "You are then positioned to cash in on strings of 6 or 8s, which we all have seen multiple times. The dice have no memory so the next roll you still have a 10:6 advantage." LOL So the dice don't require a memory in order to repeat like they do have one.🤔

      I go to the casino with my buddy every other week or so and I literally watched him roll 4 straight 7s just 2 weeks ago. It will happen. Strats like this make it sound “implausible“ but it will always happen…

    Per Chat GPT. “The probability of rolling 4 7's in craps before rolling a single 4 or 10 can be calculated using the branching method described above. After calculating all possible outcomes for the first three rolls, we can see that the probability of rolling 4 7's before rolling a single 4 or 10 is approximately 0.072%, or 1 in 1,386.
    Therefore, the likelihood of rolling 4 7's in craps before rolling a single 4 or 10 is approximately 0.072%, or 1 in 1,386, expressed as a percentage.”

    This is a nice and fairly safe strategy. Only problem with strats like this though, is you need the patience of a saint. It is so hard to stand by and watch a monster roll go by and not participate. A little piece of you dies each time the dice keep going. lol! Another problem is when (not if) the system fails, you then need five winning sessions (assuming a 20% win goal) to claw back to even again. It's such a drag.

      I even broke down and played Craps. In the end, lost every penny (thankfully about $350).
      Next time, I have experience, so I can walk away / regress / etc.
      Mostly, if I have a dealer talking with the guy next to me, halt play or go to other end of the table.
      I am legally blind and would be nice to know how much money I had put on numbers since I cannot see that far.

    Thanks! I appreciate you posting my system. My idiosyncrasy to this is even though I know sometimes four 7's will be rolled before a 6 or 8, I'm betting it won't happen right when I walk up to the table. After I win, I'll walk away and come back later and go again............so far so good!!

      Yes, like you mentioned. If you can can get 5 scores of $50, you are basically free rolling and if and when those four 7's show up, it won't hurt. I like it. Thanks for submitting. An alternative to this is to always leave the bets working and only increase when you don't make back at least what you put on the table. This way you're not missing out on action on the table and left to pick your nose while players around you collect on that monster roll. However, the increases you propose make perfect mathematical sense-- I totally see this as a mathematician strategy. The flaw to it his strategy that each individual roll is an independent event, so turning them off mid-run is a fool's game.

    I would strongly advise against any martingale strategy because of the potential risk to go bust but to each their own. Just go to a bubble craps machine and test this if you’re really curious. I’ve routinely seen four 7s show up before a 6 or 8

    I recommend a modification...bankroll of $804. Leave $12 on 6/8 and leave it working always. If 6/8 hit twice before losing then replace with $12, if you do not get at least two hits from 6/8 at the $12 then begin to progress up to $30, $90, $270. If any of those hit then drop back down to $12 on 6/8 and start over. Two hits and you simply replace...less than two hits before the 7 then begin to progress up.

    This is similar to martingale. This is a losing strategy. Your rate of loss is the amount you bet times the house edge no matter what betting strategy you use. The house edge on placing 6 and 8 is 1.52% all the time. And it doesn’t matter whether you do this on the come out roll or any other roll. The result will be exactly the same.

    I prefer regression strategies, such as 220 inside, regress to 110, then to 66. If you get 2 hits at 66, slowly start building back up, alternating collect and press.

  • @stown308
    @stown308 Рік тому +2

    I would just tweak it to start at 30 each 90 next 270 last. $780 at risk. At first level keep them working until big red comes. If you hit a few before you're up $100+ right away. At first level I would power press after 2 hits $70 collected $60 invested and collect/press every other hit or jump down to $64 across up $6. At second level your winning $45 then jumping back down to first level. At 3rd level your winning $75 then jumping back down to first level. The key is to stay hitting at that first level as long as you can. More to risk but this way you could aim for $400 profit and expect it to work out I'd say about 7 out of ten sessions. 7x400-2,800 win 3x780-2,340 loss. +$460 every 10 sessions. Safe.

    I found my best martingale system with the 6&8 is that you give yourself 5 levels of play starting at $6.00 each on the 1st level, then triple up on the next 4 levels if you have to. Example: 6..18..54..162..486 each. So you're looking for at least one 6 or 8 before you see five 7's come up. As soon as you get a 6 or 8, you go back to the 1st level. The total investment would be $1452.00. Since there are no more $5.00 minimum tables around, look for any bubble machines. The good news is that you can use the same system on the 5&9 or even the 4&10 for a smaller investment and larger profit from each level. Hey, it's possible that five 7's could come up, but not very probable.

      I think the idea is to always start just after a 7 was rolled. That's being counted as the first 7. But you're right, it's just three 7s. You're betting on the probability of a series of _future_ events, the past 7 doesn't have any bearing on the dice.

  • @jasongroomes7987
    @jasongroomes7987 Рік тому +2

    Another thing to note, this only works with someone else shooting. If you're alone at the table, which would suck, but happens sometimes, I'd make this adjustment.
    Bet BOTH the Pass and Don't Pass. This covers your come out, except for the 12. Then you push the Don't / lose the Pass. Once the come out is done, the bets cancel each other out. If the table boss won't allow you to bet both, have your wife/friend/whoever play one or the other. I'd play the Don't since you technically don't want the 7 and want the 6 or 8. Have the other person play the Pass. Like I said, if you avoid the 12 on the come out, no loss.
    I've been playing with this strategy on a simulator, only lost once in about 2 tries. Of course, it could happen sooner. Could also never happen. But this seems like a pretty safe strategy for the overall risk involved.

I will tell you it does eventually fail after doing it about 10 times. The reason for this is in a real casino, when the dice change hands sometimes you get a couple of 7s first. Then you can get a point, but 7 out a roll or 2 later.
    I recommend not playing on the come out roll unless it is a 7. If it's a 7, then start it working the rest of the way.

    The way you present the strategy you would lose $264 if the 7 rolled THREE times before a 6 or 8, not 4 times as you state any video-$24 (2 12s), $60 (2 $30 bets and $180 (2 $90 bets) which is a lot riskier.
    I’ve tweaked the system, where for just $66 more, the 7 has to come out FIVE times before a 6 or 8 for the shooter to lose, which is lot more comforting. And a $330 bankroll would still be considered low roller.
    The only stipulation is you would need a $5 table because your first bet is $6 on 6&8 for $12. I play at the Horseshoe in Shreveport where they have $5 tables in the morning and afternoon. Igor you could play at a unblemished Craps machine.
    You would bet $12 (2 $6 bets), $24,, $48, $96,, $150 for total of $330. You won’t always be in profit, but you’ll only be a few dollars short and could make it up on the next roll. But main thing this 5-step method preserves your bank roll and keeps you in the game.

    I’m pretty sure the 4 7s is because you shouldn’t play anything until you see the first 7. If you make the point, you should pull the bet until a 7 comes, and then start. If you do this, then you’re betting that 4 7s won’t come before a 6 or 8. It’s a bit slower, but more statistically sound.

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  Рік тому +1

      Well if point is hit, a 7 has yet to roll so the count doesn’t really start. Waiting for a 7 doesn’t effect the math. Because once a 7 rolls, the very next roll and every roll after is a 1 in 6 chance. So as long as a 7 hasn’t rolled, it doesn’t mathematically matter when you start. By waiting for the 7, to “get it out of the way” doesn’t change odds any.

    • @toenuff9946
      @toenuff9946 Рік тому

      @@ColorUp I’m not saying the odds change per roll. I just see this system as betting against the statistical likelihood that 4 7s will roll before a 6 and an 8. I find it HARD to believe that the creator of this strategy HASN'T lost yet!!!
    This is STILL a VERY risky strategy because here is ONLY going 3 levels up AND he is WORKING his bets on the come-out roll, something I would NEVER do!
    I like this strategy idea, but I would modify it by NOT working my bets on the come-out roll and go a MAX of 6 levels up, such as $12 each on 6 and 8 the 1st time, then $30 each, then, $90 each, then $258 each, then $700 each, and then FINALLY $2000 each, and this would be for a table that has either a $2000 or $3000 table MAX limit from a $10 minimum table. And IF you do reach that FINAL bet of $2000 each on the 6 and 8 and HIT it, you will instantly profit $153, and can END your session!
    The PROBLEM with that is that you would need a bankroll of $6180, and MOST people do NOT have that much for a starting bankroll!
    So, you are going to venture into poker!
    Good luck with that and I hope you do well but personally, I think you would be BETTER OFF with blackjack!

      That assumes they keep hitting. You're laying $24 to win $14. Likely outcomes are: A) Win once and take it down, you're up 14. B) Leave it up and then lose, you're down 10 for the shooter. C) Hit twice before losing, you're only up 4 for the shooter. D) hit three times then lose, you're up 18. Once you leave the bets up, you're committing to hitting 3 times before the 7 just to get back to where you would be if you turned them off after one.
      5/3 odds in your favor are only for a _single_ 6 or 8 before a 7. This is a lower risk strategy with a lower, but more likely, reward.

      @@ColorUp I tested this strategy but modified it a little. I was not using a large bank roll as I was just testing this strategy. I Was thinking like Ernest Mayberry in the comments (he likes collecting on the 6 and 8 until big red hits the first time and then using the strategy) . I was on an electronic table so I used $5 as my unit. From the strategy in the video I understood the creator of the strategy upping the wager from 1 unit, to 3 units and then to 9 units if they hit big red before they hit 6 or 8 (you did $10, then $30, then $90). I put $5 on the 6 and 8. I let this ride and collected on the 6&8 until I hit big red. Then I put $15 on the 6 & 8 ($15 is 3 times my single unit of $5) . If I hit either the 6 or 8 I then took my bet down to $5. If big red came before I hit the 6 or 8 then I went up to $45 on the 6 or 8 ( 9 times my $5 single unit). If I hit the 6 or 8 I collected and went down to $5. If big red hit a 3rd time before I got the 6 or 8 then I started the process over. When I played this at the local Casino in Tampa, big red hit 4 out of the first 6 roles. Worst case scenario. I kept playing using the modified strategy I described here and about an hour later I was profitable. I think this strategy is pretty good just remember whatever you use as your unit, use 1 unit, 3 units, and 9 units as you hit Big Red. I plan on testing this strategy again here in the near future in Tampa and in February out in Vegas while I am there. I call this modified strategy "My 139" to remember the units to use. Yes you are grinding it out but if you like to be at the Craps table and control your loses while enjoying the excitement of the game and getting a few free beverages it is a good strategy.

    I wouldn't advise doing this on the come out roll. I've frequently seen 7 roll four times before a point. I myself have rolled three 7s in a row. Wait for a point, then Place.

      Well dice don’t know if it’s a come out roll or not. Three, four or more 7s could happen at anytime.

      sure, that's a different way to play, but an option for sure

    Great video. It makes you the casino by putting the odds in your favor.
