I haven't lived in Chelmford for over 10 years now but I'm still like that DiCaprio meme were he sits forwards and points at the TV when I see things I recognise. GSF being 1 of them.
Glad you got the disc screws, they will make life a little easier. I love the wheels. I've got them on my r53 but still not got round to painting them white. 👍
It's taper that allows rod end to tighten clean thread and jack it harder I think you will find it's torx 47 to change have fun . . You can buy replacement rubbers and you can drill tap and hellicoil ball joint and fit grease nipple . . A proper old timer tought me that on my Thunderbird back in the late 80's . . Iv'e done all the ball joints on my old banger daily drive Elise and never had any problem or stiffness in over 8 years now . . Anouther cool tip use product called Steel Seal as preventative for coolent H/gasket leaks it works a treat believe . .
Good luck with the clutch bleeding. I did a video on it and it can be so temperamental. Make sure the slave is fully compressed, it will make it easier to bleed.
Hey mate loving the videos. I've watched lots of them over the last few evenings. Where do you find your lists to print out the torque specs for all the cars you've been fixing up? Cheers
Love the new wheels mate, .. They are the ones I am looking out for on mine, looking to get them cheap as I do all my own refurb work but can't seem to find a knackered set yet lol
Cheers mate. I think I paid something like £320 for them off eBay. Just before Christmas the seller dropped the price substantially and I snapped them up.
Enjoying the videos, love the new wheels! The white works well with the white roof, makes me wish I'd had mine refurbed in white to match the roof on mine. As a random aside, we have the same hairline... I'm interested to see where you grow it to before deciding to shave it off again like I usually end up doing 😂
Glad you like them, Nick. Ha - I've already shaved it since saying I was growing it back! Reason being that I know once I'd grown it back I'd constantly be wondering if it was too thin all over again. Couldn't be bothered with that so keeping it shaved. Also, I saw recently how much haircuts are these days, and I'd rather spend that money on parts 😂😂
Have you considered ceramic coating the new wheels? I like the white (especially with the Black Eye Purple) but I know from experience the brakes will throw some dust onto the wheels when one drives spirited. I did a cheap ceramic coating on mine (I have the BBS wheels) and a ceramic coating helps with clean up.
I've never really heard much about that to be honest, Bill, but I'm definitely going to take a look into it as it makes sense with the white wheels! Any particular products/brands you recommend?
@@NotEconomicallyViable well Avalon King in the US advertises like mad however while not the most expensive Avalon isn’t cheap. To date the only ceramic coating I have tried is a cheap Turtle hybrid wax spray based on a review from Project Farm on UA-cam. It works and is simple to apply. Will likely order Griots garage spray next(might be a US based only brand. I also follow Scott HD for his long term tests. ua-cam.com/video/xQ0uVhY1AFg/v-deo.html
Thanks, Paul. I’ve been to B&Q and assembled a hodgepodge of random brackets, bolts, and nuts that I’m going to attempt to finesse into some kind of tool 😅 Sounds like you know the job well!
you want to part with the MG straights ?, you did what i did with my blue clubman i stuck white alloys on it. with yellow calipers. and you can get wheel nut covers in black or silver, etc
new wheels looks better, white fits better. question: if the brake pedal is very hard even when the car is running, would bleeding brakes help? or is it a vacuum problem? I changed the clutch und had disconnected also some vacuum hoses. maybe other viewers can help? 🤷♂🤷♂ *EDIT*: the vacuum pump was the problem!
Haha! Yeah already seen that the slave cylinder is a pain. Purchased a hodgepodge of brackets and nuts abs bolts to try and clamp the little bugger down 👍🏻
I’m so glad I started this channel and have you lot coaching me through this lol. Didn’t even know you could do that until now 😅 Ordering some right now!

I would've bought this car off you in a heart beat. the R53 was and still is the best ever Cooper S from the new style mini
Glad you got the disc screws, they will make life a little easier.

Wheels look great Nino. Had a BRG R53 with white pepper pot wheels...and they really suited the car. Nice wratchet/eyebrow choreography as well😉
Classy combo. Did it have a white roof too?
@@NotEconomicallyViable Oh yes 😎
💪🏻
Great choice of wheel 👍, doing a great job on this refurb 👍
Thanks, Anthony 👍🏻
Good choice on the wheels mate, another few jobs well done!
Cheers, Iain! All roads lead to the MOT!
I like the new wheels 😊😊😊

That's made they made the change that close to the end of production.
I used to love my 2004 Cooper s despite its many faults. 👍
It is indeed. I've not found any explanation as to why they did it either 🤷♂️

Love em mate

Cheers mate. Combination of official workshop manuals, Haynes manuals, and sometimes people post them on forums! Google is your friend with this 👍🏻

I have the same wheels on my mini but black as the car is british racing green with a black roof. And I love them. So great choice
That's a cracking colour combination. Does it have a slight tint on the windows?
@@NotEconomicallyViable it does
The wheel bearings need to have the hub nut tightened to take play out.

Nice work
Great content again Sir👍..Have you made your diy bracket for compressing the slave cylinder before bleeding 😉🤣.

Ordered myself a set of nut covers in black 👍🏻 Yeah, willing to part with the Straights for sure - was going to put them on eBay
@@NotEconomicallyViable let me know might have them off you for the right price
@@leperri352 I’ve no idea what they’re worth. If you wanna DM me on insta @ninorosella and gimme an offer that’s probably best bud 👍🏻

The Mini gets new wheels *I love them*!
👀
I enjoy this because I have a 👕 for all the mistakes you make! Warning if you need to bleed the clutch you need to do some research.

Just buy a pack of wheel nut covers off eBay for £10 Nino 😁

@@NotEconomicallyViable I always get those wheel nut caps, just makes it look so much nicer with decent wheels, and they do loads of Colours 🙂
Suit`s the white wheel`s. Does your mrs know how much you`ve spent ?
No, and we'll be keeping it that way, thanks, Kev 😂😅
BBS R90 would have been ideal.
They’re cracking wheels, but wanted to go down the colour-coded route. Also, try finding a pair that aren’t silly money!
Quality eyebrow work under the car…😂
😅
Guns are good but anouther £50 it's a strange but fun way to buy a new mini
