Damn, I kinda miss Spidey with the Venom Symbiote. Wish he kept it, though I enjoy the Venom stuff that happened, too.
Me too. I do also wish for a popular version Peter Parker where he manages to have proper bond with Venom symbiote.
But if you didn't know. Earth 65 Spider-Gwen is bonded to Venom symbiote. Gwen already knew what Venom was and did bring Gwen the aggression. But later she managed to balance herself with Venom symbiote.

So its a soft reboot of the symbiote saga. Not bad, kind of a throwback, but well done.
Greg Land is not a bad artist but his tracing just makes it 1000x worse. Dont even get me started on him tracing from porn....
@@yxrdan ... and tracing himself, and tracing others.... I used to really like Land's work, then I started noticing the cut/paste aspects of it, and heard others mention thing slike his choice of source material. I am not a fan, but he meets deadlines.

i like the idea of see more of Spider-man in the black suit, in the original run he didnt have it for too long and all it did was fight crime while peter was sleeping, here we have a chance to see it do a bit more to give Peter a reason to get it off.

I don't think you realize just how much Venom and the symbiotes have changed since their initial introduction. Lots was added later. Not all of it good.
You want the real answer? Cause he would be too damn OP for his rogue gallery, symbiote spiderman would need new rogues to fight since guys like the rhino, vulture, green goblin, doctor Oak etc would be simple pushovers for him. Plot needs to happen and plot is king.

You'd think that a series revolved around Spider-Man having the venom symbiote suit with have him becoming a badass borderline unstoppable antihero. That's how he's usually portrayed when he's wearing just the black suit without the symbiote. But no, they have literally everyone he comes across beat his ass until he's helpless and about to die only for the symbiote to save him.
Why? Who the hell would ever want to read something like that? It's literally all just the symbiote killing his foes while Peter is made weaker than he's supposed to be. What's even the point in that?

Yes. It takes place during the period between Secret Wars and the creation of Venom. Marvel uses a sliding timescale, so events don't necessarily happen at the time of publication, hence the reference to Rey Mysterio, even though this period was originally set in the 1980s when Gutiérrez would have been about 10-11 years old. Nice and confusing.
