I was watching the 1946 movie The man I Love and I could tell the lead actress was not singing the song so I went and searched the singer and Ms. Fitzgerald came up and I listened, so beautiful.

Slight correction: George and Ira Gershwin wrote this song as part of the 1924 score for Lady, Be Good!, but deleted it from that show and added to Strike Up the Band (where it appeared as "The Man I Love" and "The Girl I Love"). This music is in the Public Domain.

it just doesnt get better than this style of music. this music was a style that is in acategory all of its own.

Ella's voice here - as always - is so luscious and silky. I love her version of this song. Having said that, Billie Holiday's has the edge for me, but nonetheless they are both STUNNING
