And chicken are susceptible to the same viruses as pigeons are, and if that's your measure you're going to have to starve, because every animal, plant and other organism is just as susceptible to viruses. And rabbits which are herbivores are not in any way comparable to dogs which are carnivores.

I remember eating those as a child, I was born in an Island so back then it was common practice here to go foraging at low tide for seafood. Japan is also an island so it makes sense they would also eat these.
Unfortunately here in England no one appreciates seafood. People here only eat haddock, cod, hake, flatfish with the occasional extremely overpriced lobster

Nah, some worms and larva have off flavors that make them not as tasty. I’ve never had a barnacle that tastes bad. Plus they are much easier to forage.
