Thank you for the video. Solved my issue with noise by adjusting the blade of the fan closer to the motor to prevent all the vibration.
If the fan motor bearings were seizing up, wouldn't the amperage draw of the motor be higher?
I was thinking the same thing.
Thank you for showing and explaining everything down to checking the watts. Awesome video 🤝
Great tutorial thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Blessing and more blessings to you and your family 😌
You always do good job Walter 👏
Good vid and good fix ...
Sir, thanks for sharing your expertise and time.
Are you saying try to match the blue side of gauge to the temperature on the thermostat?
Great detective work. 😃 Nice job getting rid of rattling from the cage times. Something else was buzzing when you pulled the cut off switch. I thought it was your camera but I guess it was something else. Anyway great work as usual. Enjoy your weekend. Hope you enjoyed your vacation with your wife too. Well deserved.👍👍👍🙂🙂🙂
I really hate icp put those information tags on so they can wear off over time. They should have used a metal stamp badge
I'm hearing the same noise on my A/C off and on but I didn't see any damage. Thanks for this video, Leaving with a lot of questions and also a lots of answer. #keepdoingdamage
25:33 It's the little things for me...instead of throwing that plastic cap in the grass, why not throw it into the box the motor came out of...I mean it's RIGHT THERE! 🤨
Could have just put a 7.5 cap and it would have increased the amps.
Walt man, I wanted to ask you how do you deal with snakes in Texas? I know y'all have a few that will kill a man....We have 2 here in South Carolina...
Looks like our old unit. Let me guess, it's a 4 ton Carrier?
Bud @2:35 & @33:45 it's the same loud sound, except the 2nd time it was louder bc of the cage, as you noted.
Does she need a compressor? Why act like it was better? Maybe I'm missing something.
im doing this now to my home AC but im stuck on the fan blades trying to get it off! Im ordering the puller no its too hot for shit
You want to next time get oem motor for carrier brands. These generic motors are to strong and will rattle whole house. Also, if fan is pushing from the side, I would get new blade with motor.
If the blade is balanced you don’t need a new one.
The none oem brand is much stronger. Definitely makes more noise.
Be there shortly….
Good work!
Thanks for the video, keep on move'n!!!
🥃🥃🍺🍺🍺🍿🎯
Stay safe.
Retired (werk'n)keyboard super tech. Wear your safety glasses!
It took you seven minutes of video to decide, "o yea i'll change the motor", we w/ common sense knew that when rounded the corner after saying it's fifteen years old and never maintained. yes change capacitor too!
I'll keep that in mind on the next one..Thanks
You watching the Astros tonight?
Don't hate on me because I'm a layman and self taught but a motor going bad would draw more amps not less. I think you just replaced the motor that did not need to be replaced, furthermore a few drops of oil on the shaft of that motor would make it last many more years. If you look on UA-cam for keywords like "yes you can oil an air conditioner" motor, you'll find my own video where my original motor still is going on and on and on just for a few drops of oil. Otherwise, I like your video and detail that you give the viewer.
I get it, but I won't be in business long oiling fan motors..
@@WWHVAC I see and agree and love honesty :-)
