I love your videos. I had pet chickens & a rooster some years back. ❤❤❤ They can be fun & comical at times. Just like people, some are intelligent & others are dumb as rocks. Mine knew their names & would follow me around. For a treat, I'd put some dry dog food & rotten tomatoes under a piece of cardboard & in a day or so, flies lay eggs & then maggots arrive. It sounds crazy but my chickens loved them. 🙂
This reminds me of my Daughter's Chicks she talked me into letting them stay in a bucket just like that with a screen on it. In my livingroom!! That was a big mess!! She had to vacuum my ceiling and wipe down the walls and everything else. Never again!! Your chick's are plenty big enough for the coop now. Love watching y'all ❤

Chris that's funny...chicks first day of kindergarten ha ha ha !! You guys have a beautiful place and love hearing all the birds and seeing how well your garden is growing. Oh my how sad...what a traumatic experience for that chicken. I heard that the older chickens would attack younger ones and those that are sick. Animals are like humans trying to test things they shouldn't. I watch another UA-cam channel The Moss Family and they have chickens and a white turkey "Miss Turkey" and you should see her. She used to come up on the porch to visit before they enclosed it and she follows their youngest son Manley around and he pets her and loves on her, its so sweet. My daughter has chickens, and she has, I think black copper mamans? They lay chocolate brown eggs. I thought I saw your black chicken with that iridescent ring of feathers, copper color. They originated in France. I like seeing the chicks.
My first ten years was on a farm near Guntersville . My mother told me to never get attached to any of the many animals we raised. They might be on the table the next day. Sorry for the wry comment.
A fox got into my daughter's chicken coop and killed 15 plus a rooster who was trying to defend the hens. She's sad. Most of them had names. She now has no white hens.
