I Just bought a 2019 Honda Pioneer 500 white with 209 miles. I want to put 27”s or 26”s and winch and lights . I made a bed for it a nice one . Absolutely love it😊
You can never go wrong buying a Honda. In my opinion, Hondas side by side is more reliable than any machine out there. Mostly because Honda makes there machine shaft driven while others are belt. Honda makes a work horse

Put a long travel kit and run with it
im highly thinking of buying a pioneer just for myself and getting a long travel kit. I really like the pioneer vs the RZR just for overall feeling, how nimble small it is and ease of transportation
There's nothing on the market like Honda I this case I am talking 520 Pionir , if you don't belive me that is just fine . Honda Pionir 520 is miniature Unimog , there is no belt anywhere just gears and if you look carefully at front differential it is bigger and more robust from any mashine in same class .

How would this handle the dirt roads in the Ozark Mountains around the Buffalo river area?
for basic dirt roads it does amazing as long as you dont have an itch to go fast. Its a slow relaxed kind of machine. You are reaching its limits at around 35 - 40 mph
Honestly all the machine you need if you are just looking to ride at a leisure pace. And I also love how narrow it is. Just fits really well around things and very easy to predict your fitment
You made the right choice. On the Pioneer line the 500 or 1000 over the 700 any day of the week! Why in the world they won’t design a decent transmission for the 700 is beyond me cause the machine is a gutless turd the way ot stands
