The exclusive annual Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender of some of the finest diamonds from the Argyle Diamond Mine in western Australia, is currently taking place in Hong Kong. The diamonds are sought after in Hong Kong and mainland China for their auspicious colours: pink, red and violet. The Argyle Diamond Mine accounts for around 90 per cent of the world’s pink diamond supply. The mine is set to close in 2020 and it’s therefore expected that the exorbitant high value of these coloured diamonds will increase even more.

The rarest & best quality gem stones ( including diamonds ) should be kept in national museums for the greatest number of people on our Planet to see & learn about their natural geological formation processes, so that we would understand & appreciate the unique wondrous resources on Earth, & thus would become more protective of our underground environment. The major national museums on each continent should take turns to exhibit such priceless gemstones to allow more local people to get a chance to see them.
Such unique rare geological resources are Earth's heritage, humanity must protect & pass on our collective identity & symbols of distinction. Therefore, rarest gemstones should not be privately possessed by a few extremely rich individuals.
(These gem stones would not be found on other planets due to the differences in the distance from the sun, the existence of water, & the core temperature in each planet, ...that contribute to geological formations. ) Besides, increasing scientific uses of gemstones & precious metals ( e.g. diamonds are used in industrial cutting tools, gold in electronic devices,...etc ) have been discovered.

The UN should create laws among all nations that extremely rare gemstones must become national treasures, if discovered & excavated in a particular country. Then it should be exhibited in their prestigious national museum for all the world to see & admire.
