This is a note for note deep dive into the live version of John Mayer's song "Heart of Life" from his "Where the Light is" live performance. The song uses a guitar tuned a half step down, E flat being the lowest note. I teach the Verse/Intro, Chorus and Outro in the first 20 minutes so you can grab that and get out. If you stick around I go over the alternate variations in each part as well as the guitar 2 solo and background guitar work. At the end is a quick and dirty explanation on why the song is in the key it is and how the major/minor chord shapes follow a pattern as seen in the song's ascending and descending outro.
