I legit got in trouble as a child once because I found this scene SO FUNNY I blasted the tvs volume to like 90 and replayed it like 30 times laughing HYSTERICALLY 😭🙌 needles to say my sleeping mother was NOT impressed lmfaoooo
The whole new group dynamic in this episode, so much fun and such gutsy writing. Introducing such a bold new character and then cracking endless jokes about her disability, could have gone wrong in so many ways. And yet it works!
Great reaction as usual 😊😊. I actually love the lil sis - big sis dynamic between Toph and Katara. And man I forgot how petty and savage they were to each other 😂😂. Also the reason why Toph doesn't face the people she talks to is not only because she's blind but also cause she actually points one of her ears at them so she can hear more clearly. I ADORE that scene where Aang lures both the Fire siblings to fall. It shows both their personalities in a great way. Azula almost falls but regains herself because she remains calm and composed meanwhile Zuko rushes in headfirst without thinking and just falls. If u rewatch that scene where uncle iroh gets shot u can see he only let his guard down cause he was surprised to see Toph was part of Team Avatar and Azula took the opening.
This episode kinda sorta messed with my anxiety from empathizing with the characters being CONSTANTLY HUNTED by those three murderous girls with no chance to rest! What a nightmare scenario! That nice little moment of Toph meeting Uncle Iroh was one of my favorites of this entire show though!
3:30 A lot of the blind jokes in the show are based on people forgetting Toph is blind. Though Katara's statement definitely seems like a low blow out of context, chances are, she was referring to the fact that Toph had a tent while they didn't, blocking her "view" of the stars. They argued about it not long before this scene.
There are so many little details in this show that reward repeat watching. Before this episode, Ty Lee uses fingers with her chi-blocking moves. After her fight with Sokka, she switched to using fists instead of fingers because she hurt her fingers. Also, if you pay attention, you will notice the more intelligent characters borrowing moves from people from other nations. In one of the episodes in season 3, you'll see Katara use an obvious earth bending stance in a really badass duel with another water bender. Zuko starts out very wasteful with his energy, but by the end of the series, he is extremely economical with his fire-bending movements, like a master.
This episode really teaches us about these characters. Toph was completely isolated. She never had any friends. Just parents and servants, so of course she has no idea how to behave around other people. She means well, but she's socially stunted. Katara on the other hand had to grow up way too fast because her mom died. She's practically a mom, and that is not going to play well with little miss rebel.
something i'd NEVER buy is that a 7 ton flying bison would fall asleep mid-air and fall, especially after only one night of not sleeping, no way it's entire system didn't evolve to avoid that at all costs
"I'M COMPLETELY CALM!" kills me every time lol.
😂😂😂

3:28: This is why I love animation over Live Action series you don’t get to see calm faces like that. LOL! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
16:09 false surrender is a war crime. As is using child soldiers, so one for Ozai and for Azula
3:37 it’s possible she forgot about her disability and was throwing shade at the opaque earth tent
Great reaction as usual 😊😊.

Wow!!! Totally missed the why Iroh kept glancing at the kids right before he got shot! 😂 the more you know. -M

This show has life lessons about everything, even about the importance of teamwork and sleep.

Sokka is a bender. A rizz bender!
I need that on a shirt "Three on three (plus Sokka)" 😆
if you get one, let us know!! 😂
One of my favorite episodes, it was so funny and chaotic. xD Love your reactions to them, you've got another subber!

0:07 little did she know: Zuko would briefly join the Avatar team here
