really interesting! my guess is that it can't compete in breathability with ePTFE or they would roll out a newly, expensively developed process into high margin product areas first. maybe once the expansion is further refined we'll get more durable shake-drys for all purposes.
Thanks for sharing this, love this channel. Be nice if Ross skipped the marketing soundbites and talked more about product features and specifics, particularly in terms of breathability which seems to be the main challenge in waterproof membrane tech. PFC free is great (way overdue, if you wanted to look at Paramo who've been PFC free for ages) but is it either more affordable, significantly more durable, or more breathable? If not, I hate to say but it sounds a bit like the new 'latest and greatest' as Ross alluded to himself. I guess it's a step towards greener gear. Cheers Will!
Hi Will Been into the outdoors for years. Do you belive that the gear these days is to disposable like fashion? I still have usable jackets 20+ years old
@@SPYROSMANTZAKOS I haven't had a chance to test this new Gore-tex membrane yet so I can't really say. I do like the dyeing process behind the new Lifa, and it's great that no harmful chemicals go into it. Water resistance could be better though. Maybe I'll see if I can do a comparative review once I've got my hands on the Gore ePE. Will

Nice video and very informative thanks for sharing this🥰
Hi Will
Been into the outdoors for years.
Do you belive that the gear these days is to disposable like fashion?

By and large yes. It does sound like Gore have placed a big focus on longevity with this new membrane though, which is good to see. Will
How do you think it will compare to Helly Hansen's lifa infinity membrane (no dwr needed)?

I’m into it!
'carbon footprint' of this is nil to begin with, I would much rather have a better more durable and breathable membrane
