    This is the farm where I shot my first ever buck. I’ve spent the last several years hunting this farm! Great piece of ground and LOTS of deer! Best of luck guys!

    Lol sorry if I came across as having it all figured out ,and congrats on the great deer . Sorry your not open for suggestions on getting and growing more huge whitetail we as a family also have been blessed and killed over 10 in the 170s 180s and 1 over 200 .we own parcels of land in Ms Ohio and Illinois and are plan to purchase in Kentucky and another parcel in Illinois in 2023.

    Lee you may have already, but you should check into a Fecon mulching head.
    In my opinion it is much better!! Than a bush hog style cutting head.
    Very efficient I have operated both types clearing power line right of ways.

    If a farm was a great hunting farm, Lee and his friends would buy it for themselves.

      Yes, it's a good sign when Lee wants to buy the farm! If this was closer that might be the case.

    Sitting up property to look like golf course for wildlife has always been my idea. What you use for fertilizer..Manure or use dry timed release or ???? Thank you. Dan

      Be hard to hunt deer on a golf course once pressure is introduced. Better to let it grow up so deer have escape areas close-by when you do inevitably spook them, they won't run 700 yds to your neighbor.

    Evolution doesn’t necessarily select antlers to advance the species-they’re there to show dominance, and statues, without fighting. They contribute very little toward long term survival. Body Mass, size, the doe’s genes, etc.

    I agree with you for sure a deer will not reach its potential until at least 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 yrs of age .who told you that I shot 3 / 4 yr old 8 points or culls ????? I can only speak of my experience and if you disagree that’s your right but there are many more than only 2 factors that can produce huge white tail bucks that score over 200 genetics being one location being another etc . And that’s not as you call it bs .just wondering what kind of 2 yr olds you have this yr I would say 90 percent of mine were 10 point main frame and I got got the pics to prove it and 1 3 yr old that is in the 180s

    Also not sure we’re you came up with the idea that we’ve been shooting 3 yr old cull a deer needs at least in my opinion 4 to 5 yrs min but yes we have killed 270 lb dominate 7 point 125 inch 5yr old and a few 250 lb plus 8 points that were very dominate 125 and 130 inch at least 4 to 5 year olds

    A 6400$ feeder that every Coon can access. Come on guys. You can buy six 1200 lb boss buck gravity's that will never never have a coon on them. I wouldn't deal with vail after I've heard some questionable ethics decisions regarding them, a few land agents, and releasing high genetic does to develop high scoring bucks on farms in KS to then sell the land at a higher price point. I dont know if its true but I trust my resource.

      There’s been multiple studies on this, the doe actually carry the bulk of the genetics so this doesn’t really work, but if u were to shoot every single buck exhibiting a curtain genetic trait every year it would take 10-15 years to actually make a difference. Odds are one of ur neighbors or u for that fact had some logging done or someone stopped slaughtering the 3yo bucks in ur area. Your “cull” deer are probably very young or very old and haven’t shown u there peak potential. I’d do some research!

      When I bought the land I’m speaking of 5 yrs ago I had a couple 4 to 5 yr old 150s 1 /160 that I’m guessing was 5 or 6 at least along with multiple 4 and 5 yr old 7 and 8 points I do still have a few from the 1 and 2 yr old batch left but only a few that are high and tight 7 s and 8s so this yr before they parted ways in early season I had around 15 main frame 10 points as well as a few main frame 8 points that are 2yr old 13 14 inches wide which is a major difference in what I had 5 yrs ago so I could go on and on telling you why it’s working ok so know this it’s not just a hobby for me its a passion and I’ve been retired now for about 10 yrs so I’m constantly doing all I can to increase the giants on my get away land and lodge in Ohio . And so while I am very aware that there are multiple factors in growing giant whitetail deer this is 1 of many that I am confident that works .wish you well brother good hunting.

      @justinbarney2524 Рік тому

      @@briansnyder4492 well u can be as confidant as u want, the facts remain the same… it does NOT work.
      There are 2 ways to grow big deer, give them the nutrients and food the need, and let them mature to 5.5-6.5 years of age. Everything else is bs. We have a 400 acer farm in western wi. We have had 2 deer over 180” on our farm every year for the past 7 years. We have killed 3 over 200” and have entered 13 deer in the boon and crocket book. 3 of which are top 20 all time wi archery typicallys. One of them could have been considered a “cull buck” at 3.5. Scored 192” as a non typical at 6.5 years old. Those cull bucks u probably shot at 3yo could have been the next world record🤣🤣🤣

    Farming not hunting boys..Hear him say its amazing what big deer do when not pressured.. Yes big deer not pressured act like little deer. SO I ask what is the prize the antlers so you can beat your chest..Or is the prize the game..And if your such pros why is the game about making deer stupid and easy to hunt..Big difference between deer farming and deer hunting..Big money big tame deer ruining the sport..Well done.. boys

    Yeah because it's Iowa. Iowa is like everybody's cheat code they use in video games. The fact that you guys promote hunting and certain aspects of it all while hunting in Iowa should be a crime in itself. The deer literally lay down before you even shoot them. No challenge at all
