Its been a battle against the green pea soup pond machine and WE HAVE FINALLY WON! But theres a new drama now!
So my koi pond water has been green for way too long and now it isnt. The water is crystal clear and we can see all the koi in all their beauty. Its amazing to have them back in HD.
However my Koi Morrison now needs treating for Mouth rot and I have to sedate him soon.

Get a Brunel Sp21 or 22 if you can’t get the Apex Practitioner as the Apex is simply a rebranded Brunel👍😊. Brand new is about £130 but you quite often see them on eBay for half that🤞👍. Great to see you’ve got the water clarity sorted, well done buddy👍😊. It is a shame you can’t make Coventry, would have been good to meet you but there are other shows this year so hope to see you at one of those👍😊

Pond looks great. Finally sorted mine to. Letting the blanket weed build up to much before I treated, was my problem. All the fines get stuck in the fuzz. The koi then disturbed them. It was a cycle that could only be stopped by hitting the blanket weed earlier.
I alway bring my koi around in the filter return flow after using koi sedate. Let them come around and swim out of your hands.

Get a Brunel microscope it’s the same I own one with a phone attachment use the phone camera as a screen I love it I had a bresser with a lcd screen rubbish wasted money 👍🏻

Yes very important to have clear water mate when got nice fish and koi window what I will now suggest is ur upto date with ur heron protection when we do something new it opens window of opportunities for things. nice fish mate. Just heard you have tench they do muck up the bottom of the water mate might be worth putting filter floss in ur skimmer instead of sponges might notice big difference. You should now build a pregola if u like the light coming through the pond maybe do a frosted clear roof and black or grey balcony screening on back side. Good luck with sedation I've done it before mate it's quite easy make sure have recovery bath with lots of air stones in.
Hi pal, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING MESSAGE. So much in there for me, TBH some ideas rolling into me now. I keep thinking of the heron situation but we aint seen any and we always behind the bifolds looking at the pond. Recovery bath mega good point pal 🕺🏻
@@koifishjohnny no worries mate I never had a heron problem till I made floating aquaponics island so trust me there around and once they get a opportunity they will strike without you even noticing. I have a large American Akita but at the time it was indoors more then out as had some treatment so these birds are clever they know change. It's a lovely pond with lovely fish I had a massive blanket weed problem when my UV went just getting to bottom of it now. I'd also keep up with regularly water changes and add lots of love bacteria in pond and filters every time you do water changes, you will definitely see the clarity improve or at least stay the same. Keep up the good work beautiful fish

Why not switch to controlling the pond ecosystem like we Japanese do? First of all, think of your pond as if it were the breeders' outdoor mud pond. Then you'll see something more important than water quality tests and chemical dosing!

@@koifishjohnny Aside from the size and depth of the pond, why not just follow their annual schedule for now? The growing period starts around mid-June and is a full feeding period until autumn. The harvest is shared in late October or November. All hobbyists above a certain level in Japan do this!
