You are actually right. He didn't even want the belt. We all jeered at him for trying to wrestle, but he actually devoted his time over the years to become an actual pro wrestler. I honestly wouldn't mind now seeing him wrestle. He did get good. And looks like he can still go.
I always saw it as Arquette trying to help out a business he loved and respected. WCW was tanking hard when they made him champ. Never had anything to be ashamed of in my opinion.
I remember watching that. I know exactly how he felt. I had my neck ripped open to bleeding everywhere scaring me to death. It was from a freak accident in woodshop though. I think I need to meet him and get a pic with him showing off our neck scars lol
@@BigDaddyCola dude just has 0 redeemable qualities, he’s done this to multiple wrestlers and boasts how he almost died or died for a few minutes in the ring. Dudes a total nut with no training.
Nick was the suppose professional. People forget your suppose to be able to do all these types of matches and be ok . But the dude wanted to get real with someone who doesn’t know how to wrestle on the fly. Lol plus David said he could bleed just don’t cut his face !! Every pro I bet they had something they didn’t want to do in a match.
Arquette properly wigged out in that match and it almost cost him dear - he’s lucky it was Gage that he shot on with the chair and Gage just warned him to stay down for the pin - if he did that to New Jack it would have been a totally different story….
In my opinion this is kinda both the opponents fault. Arquette should have done a little research about death match wrestling and who he was facing. Nick Gage should have tried not to go full bore on a guy that's probably got lawyers/insurance/liabilities out the ass when it comes to his appearance/face.
Arquette's quest was inspirational and great to watch, but this clip makes it sounds like he was, as Nick Gage said, in over his head in the kind of match. Deathmatches remain a specialized genre for the very experienced and/or the guys who are little off and don't mind getting hurt.
Not being a hater but he legit seems stupider then the characters he plays? He seems quite simple to things, sounds like he was taken advantage of in wrestling. Chris should have told him that doing indies with nick gage etc is not going to get you any meaningful advice lol Most wrestlers are prima Donnas and want to make out they are badass and this is legit. No wonder he didn’t get any advice, you can tell he wanted to say something. I wish Chris would have prodded a little, you can tell he didn’t want to say bad about anyone but their was definitely things he wanted to try and say.
He's bipolar and reliving (proper reliving too, it seems, hence constantly repeating the motion of trying to stem the tide) one of the most traumatic incidents of his life on camera. That could certainly account for a good deal of his seeming offness.
Kinda shows he's in over his head. Keep doing normal matches. Deathmatches are for a rare breed not movie stars. From experience Gage is a very easy person to do buisness with. Simply he got worked by the gimmick

RIP Luke Perry. The movie You Can not Kill David Arquette is a great documentary.
Thanks for the like Chris. Your interviews are great.
Remember David is a former WCW champion regardless of the situation and has redeemed himself in the business

🤣🤣😂
No offense to David Arquette, but when he won that was the day wcw died. It's like when Vince McMahon won the ecw, it died when he won.
I kinda have to give David Arquette props for even wanting to do a deathmatch with nick gage
U “kinda” have to? Buddy u either give him props or u dont… kinda doesnt work here.
That moment is forever a moment in wrestling history. And the craziest moment in death match history.
Wtf you habe not seen many deathmatches then 👀
Not even close
Not even close. New Jack actually tried to kill people in deathmatches. RIP New Jack
Death Matches are garbage. If you put yourself in a situation where you risk getting a jugular vein cut, that's stupid and it's not worth it.
I love him. He’s a treasure who must always be protected at all costs
An interview with William Regal would be amazing.
Agreed!

Luke Perry was a good dude.
Nick Gage was just getting David prepared for Ghostface in Scream 5...it's an Honor 🔪🔪
Lol please we all know nick was ghostface XD
@@xxshadowdevilx527 nope rikishi
It's been crazy is Ghostface used a pizza cutter too.
@@eddiew2325 He did it for the rock.. he did it for the people
No money in this world would make me have a death match with Nick Cage
he's probably one of the safest people to have a deathmatch with, he knows what he's doing
Gage is trash. My personal favorite interview 🤘
I don’t want to be negative but I have to say nick gage isn’t a real wrestler nor should he ever be seen as one. I have no respect for that guy.
Same. Total idiot who had no regard for arquette's safety. Its obvious he had minimal training. Gage could have killed arquette.

Gage is a just a edgelord backyard wrestler.
Gage is great

That's insane
I'm anxious just hearing about it
I was thinking he could tag with the hollywood hunk ryan nemeth someday or be a Hollywood style mentor to him
R.I.P. Luke Perry.

Whoop whoop.
"Dude shouldn't have moved" Nick Gage
He literally is Officer Doofy
Learn what literally means

Yeah I’m sure David never knew what deathmath wrestling was before he got his neck cut
@@wilabanodeniro9780 I'm sure he had an idea of a watered down version of that bit Nick Gage doesn't know the meaning of the word.
i mean there's a very big difference between a death match, and a nick gage death match

Scream 2020 killed him sadly as dewey
I saw the clips of the match and I just could not stop laughing..but i just think he did not know.
