@@bigfootswatching9986 Of course it is. It's a 7 year old truck at this point. But mine was fully loaded, quad cab with a long bed and tow package as well. Still only paid $22K for it in 2020 when I bought it. If you look at used 2017 Tacoma prices they are going anywhere from 25K up to 34K. Way over priced by the way. It's worth about 18K max in my opinion.
I’m really really really happy that I accepted their offer last March for $100 less than I bought it for 25 months ago (Dec 2021). It was a TRD sport manual black. They initially listed it at $44,998 and now they lowered it to $43,998. Based on this adjustment, I would say the purchase offer trend is going down.

That’s what I was offered on my 23 trd pro with about 8k miles after I added $3k in extra accessories. They would sell it for close to $55k. Our TRD Pros are going up in price if anything. My neighbor wants it and he would pay me $50k today immediately if not more. I’m not selling it. It’s a keeper. I will get a new 4Runner trd pro eventually but I’m keeping the tacoma.

Take the 45k if you really want to sell it! Carmax has to make a profit too! You will have a hard time trying to sell it privately in this economy! I would just keep your Pro and drive it til the wheels fall off!

This. I remember him buying his truck at Gladstone Toyota and paying above MSRP.
Being robbed is losing or having something taken away against your will. He willingly signed off on the added cost. He was not robbed but instead made a bad choice and now wants to be rewarded.

If they had the chance, and somebody would of bought it, 3rd gen last of the naturally aspirated V6, With 10,000 miles and extras. That truck is practically bran new. Bottom line CarMax would of made out well with the resale. Don't make em like this anymore sad but true.

I traded in my 23 Taco TRD Pro same color as your with 5k miles on it, and got $50,500 as a trade in, shopped around many dealers and 2 did offer 45k, and others offered between 47k -49k. Just shop around brother and be patient. My 2 hightest trade in offers were from the dealer owners that wanted the truck, and were willing to give more than what the sales managers would offer. Go on a busy saturday afternoon, and park your truck right upfront so it can get all the attention from the customers, and the dealer owners then see that. The dealer listed my Taco for 53,500, and sold it in 2 days

I bought my Taco TRD Pro for $49200, $3600 under MSRP, so I was happy to get more than what I paid for it, and traded it in for a 24 4Runner TRD Pro, and got that $1500 under MSRP, so I couldn't be happier. Just be patient and you'll win out. I finally learned that after getting screwed over several times on trade in from dealers
Hold on to your truck and keep it clean. It is already a collector's item. It will outlast the '24 Pro by hundreds of thousands of miles. Just look at what's gong on with the Tundra right now and all the other competition with their turbo 4 bangers. I grabbed my 2023 Off Road last year once I found one at MSRP because I saw this coming. No regrets. You've got a keeper my friend.

My wife just traded in her ‘21 taco for a new Lexus Rex 350 hybrid luxury and we’re pretty happy with it so far. It’s sad that a new pro is almost the same cost as our new Lexus. I bet the new taco vehicles will mostly sit on the lot with their new prices.

I think the offer is good. Try trading it with a dealership they will price match but, they’ll get you on the new car. Also, not everyone wants a red car. Your car maybe clean but it’s used and it’s a previous gen car. Good luck.

I don’t believe so. I did it online. They didn’t even take any pictures. the trucks only gonna go up in value it has 10,000 miles on it. The new Trd pro will be $65,000. This is the last naturally aspirated V6.

@@itsallminor6133 As long as the new cars are overpriced, the used car market should continue to heat up. It was hot because there wasn't any new car inventory, and now the inventory is in but is way over priced across the board so most will be going used until that corrects
You also have the TRD Upper Control Arms those are $1500, I just bought them. I would ask $51,000 but I would keep it. It's a beauty!! The V6 is better than the costly hybrid. Repairs on the hybrid would be costly. You could modify drum brakes to disc and your ride would be complete!

A cash offer of 45k from a reseller isn't unreasonable. Obviously you can get more from a private sale. Not sure what you were expecting. Love your vids man! I wouldn't sell a 2023 TRD pro to Carmax right now but that's up to you. You have to figure that any reseller is expecting a 20% return on their investment as a minimum. Selling that truck to buy a 2024 for UA-cam content profits is a loosing proprisition IMHO.

You’ve got a nice red truck. Did you know that any color you observe in an object, actually is all the colors in the light spectrum except that particular color entering the retina? So, your truck embodies all the colors in the rainbow and rejects or reflects back red. That’s why you see only red. Anyway, thanks for the post.
Ur truck is beautiful and I agree it's a 10!! But u have to understand the stealership has a lot of overhead expenses. U could easily sell your Taco privately and get closer to 49k. But you'll be dealing with people.... I recently traded my TRD pro tundra and regret it.... think about keeping what u have, u have a lot invested in it and you haven't even broken it in. What did you expect? What makes you think these are going to go up in value? Especially when there are 2023 0 mile trd pros laying around for 52k before any negotiating. Carmax is also known to pay less for modified vehicles

Take the money while you can the market is dropping. It could get bad. I would take that money and run before they change their mind. See all the unsold cars? They dont need your truck they'll be stuck with it for a while. And once the new model proves itself over the next couple years the 3rd Gen will be worth less. So they'll be dropping prices on these and your truck to get out of them.
You have a pro. It's still the same frame, drivetrain. "Pro" didn't mean much when you bought.
Personally i think you shoul take the money and go buy a new frontier. They are discounting a bit and the frontier is a way better buy and made well. Better value. Then look at tacos again in a few years .
Or just take the money and buy a beater. Savec what you have left for a rainy day

Sorry about that, i think the used car are dropping price very quick. They did offer me a less than your. Which I got 2023 pro with all the add-ons on 13K miles. My sticker price was will over 56K. :(. I would have sold it and upgraded to 2024, but I think I am stock with this till my lease is over.
What made you go with the white lettering out? Also private party on a 22 Limited same set up is $46K. The new one isn’t any better it has a smaller power plant. You may like the 24 body it has to grow on me first. 55K for a used TRD Pro? No one should have to pay for the extras you did when purchasing it new.
I just wanted to give the white letters a shot see how it looked. I wasn’t sold it first, but they grew on me and I like them kinda gave it a old school look but you can’t beat a black wall. Next set a tires will probably be black wall, yeah, was unfortunate that I had to pay the markup but I really wanted the truck if I could go back and do it all over again I might not have my pro lol 😂 thanks for the reply and checking out the channel my friend ! I think I would prefer a 6 cyl Toyota over the standard 4 cyl. The hybrid 4cyl is slightly tempting. They should have put the hybrid on the 6 with an 8 speed transmission.

Pretty loaded up sr5. I was toying around the idea of getting a Land Cruiser. I might check out car max and see what they will offer me. My msrp was about 61k . I would take 56k

Addressing your question at the 14:30 min mark. Yes, not accounting for price, the '24 TRD Pro is better than yours... More hp & torque, substantial low end torque compared to the '23, higher mpg, independent suspension, better ride/handling, non-hunting transmission, box frame construction (not C frame). Need I go on?

What it comes down to is do what you want. Only you know if you can financially make a move to a 2024 Taco.. if you can get the Dealer to come down on the price of a new Tacoma, than you will somewhat balance out. You have a nice Tacoma now, what can you get for yours if you sold it yourself ? Try to sell it yourself.
I've sold my 2023 Maverick a month ago and they bought it for $26k. I really can't complain I use the Maverick for over a year and put on about 13k miles. They are selling it on their lot for $29,999. They plan to make 4k for the sale ofcourse they gotta make their money. I think most of those trucks they probably bought it high that's why the price is like that.

Dude you went to one single Carmax in your area. There’s hundreds of stores in the country, they offer great prices, not every store is like Salem Oregon fortunately. 41 for your truck is good. After that offer expires you’ll get 35.

They have to pay to keep the lights on! That’s how business works. You have a Tacoma with a Pro package that most people don’t care about. Their price is fair. You chose to pay markups, you were upside down on this truck from day one, I’d hate to know what your payments are. I like that you are humble and know you have a lot to learn. Video could have been half as long without the rambling on repeating yourself over and over.

I think $45 is reasonable against their other models. I think $45 is actually high for the market overall. But yeah, they pay you 45, put 2 grand in cleaning and for marketing budget and sell it for 50 in an hour with their network. Every offer I've ever gotten from Carmax is high....which has been awesome and has saved me from having to deal with selling on my own. Which is a time consuming hassle. Their network is pretty amazing. Never bought a car from them, but sold 4 to them.
