Here are all 5 locations of the Gunslinger's Guide Magazines you'll find in Starfield. They (are supposed to) increase reload and holstering speed with Laredo Firearms (Razorback, Bridger, Coachman, Lawgiver, Rattler, Regulator, Tombstone) by 5% for a max of 25%. There is also a 'secret hidden effect' (that might get patched) involving free ranks in the Combat Skill Tree.

● Reload/Holster speed DOES work, but you need to unequip your grenades apparently. It's a goofy workaround, but there you go!
● Regarding Gunslinger's Guide 05: I was wrong about the lift at the Freestar Embassy and that does get locked again after the quest. Fortunately these effects are 'permanent' so NG+ is always an option!
One of the guides you should do is all earth location books

You can sell old earth books at that book store for 2000 credits. Only one copy but I’ve made at least 12000 so far. Moby Dick, Dracula etc, select the dialogue about having old earth books #3 I think

Turns out you cannot get back into the free star embassy so I guess I'm just fucked.

I only need Issue 5 and I can't get back into the freestyle Collective Embassy I don't know why I completed everything
I am in same boat. I wish Bethesda wouldn't make these 1 and done kind of things. I have been playing as a Freestar Ranger. Turns out I made an irrevocable decision to join Crimson Fleet when I told Sys Def to shove their offer, after railroading me.
I have a save doing both and I still can't get in on
So I did the friends like me mission and I can't activate the elevator...am I missing something
That one I was incorrect. Someone left a comment with the console command to get in, but you can also come back in NG+ and get the bonus that way.
