I have this tripod and I love it. As a geriatric 83yr old photographer I got tired of carting my Benbo Trekker around and I bought this. It suits all my needs. Barry Doig New Zealand

Nice tripod,my Silk U212 which I had since the 80s is still going strong but can't fit in my carry on time for something new, thanks Ed.

I take my bird photos that are on the ground or water at about 4 to 6 inches from the ground and you need some support if you use a long lens, so it can be handy to get something like that

I am debating between this or the Travis. I am 6'1. Also, are these compatible with Monfrotto Quick Release Mounts?

I like how you review things, you make them real world for your situation. It definitely looks very well made with real screws and things and it’s certainly compact.
I’m pretty lucky when it comes to tripods, as either the car or my mobility scooter carry them for me so I can use Manfrotto aluminium ones, the 190 and 055.
I often shoot 4” off the ground with macro shots, especially at this time of the year when fungi is much more common. I’ve had some quite funny experiences when trying to get back up using my stick or scooter, with people offering to help me. They think I’ve fallen off my scooter and that Hazel (wife) is cruel for not offering any assistance and sitting in the car laughing. You can’t see her hemiparuplegia when she is sat down, and I can spend the rest of the day telling her how terrible she is. (She is as far from terrible as it’s possible to get but we don’t do politically correct)
As always a great video and I hope you are keeping well and you get plenty of use out of your new tripod.

I’m going to have to figure out how to do that with the tripod. Macro is a favorite for me. But I’ve mostly limited myself to foliage and insects much higher off the ground. Thanks Mark! Please say Hi to Hazel from me.

So...a tripod for people like me...someone 98% unmotivated to carry a tripod. This 3 Legged Things looks similar to the MeFoto tripod I own. Compact, sturdy, twisty leg locks. Even so, I still need that 2% motivation to kick in before I can be bothered to take it anywhere. Great review though. Real world reviews are the only ones that matter to me. I like to see how other people actually use things!

Thanks. If it weren’t for some of my video work, I’d feel pretty unmotivated to carry a tripod most of the time, too. I like the looks of the MeFoto.

It's hard to beat 3 legged thing for the price. I have the 'Anarchy Punks Brian'. I don't think I could find another tripod that extends to 76" yet still packs to 16" for its $299 price. Certainly not one that also weighs only 3.2#(thank you carbon fiber). At near full extension I haven't had any stability issues.
That Slik unit of yours looks pretty beefy at $99 for just the legs.

Jimmy Hill Yes. I bought my first 700DX with the pan and tilt head at B&H. I was looking for something inexpensive but able to support my Mamiya RZ. The salesman said the Slik would do it! I rarely take it outside but it’s great for studio work.
