Need your expertise. I was checking for spark on a Triumph 650. And I noticed when turned the ignition off it causes the coils to discharge and the plug to spark. I'm running a Pazon electronic ignition. Any thoughts. Thanks mate.RMM

I'm afraid I'm not really sure - I'm not that familiar with Pazon (Lucas?) - but I do know that some electronic ignition systems do give that little last kick when you switch them off, which is quite normal. It could be the same for Pazon, but not sure. I'd ask on the British Motorcycle Mechanics FB page, or similar. Good luck. 👍

Is the keyway OPPOSITE, or ADJACENT to the timing mark?

The standard valve timing is when the keyway is in line with relevant timing mark - so on the same side as the timing mark. So looking at it you'd see the centre of the camshaft, then the key/key way, and then the timing mark.

@@Chris.rooke150 Good. Your narration said opposite side, which would indicate to me on the other side of the gear.

Apologies, I didn't notice the error when live or editing. It is frightening when reviewing the videos how often I say things incorrectly or the wrong way round etc! I try to correct them with text on the screen, but missed that one. When it comes to the reassembly I'll make sure everything is clear - hopefully! 😁👍

@@Chris.rooke150 So much to cover, hard to get it all correct! I'm following because I fear that my '72 T150V may need torn down (haven't heard it run yet). Should find out in a few weeks.
