    FYI, I have that same Givi tank bag. Great bag and mounting system but on a sunny day its like riding with a mirror under your chest. That clear top really reflects the sun.

      I really haven't had any problems with glare, except when I have my GPS in there and the sun is high, it is hard to see.

    Professional Tips! Use an old town wet down to keep brake fluid from removing paint. ( just save the towel for future use). It will do this almost immediately. Also, keep a spray bottle filled with pure clean water ( distilled is best). You can use spray to rinse off brake fluid should you spill anywhere, if you can not get at it with a towel. Aquarium silicon lines used for air pumps/ air stones ( thick diameter) work great instead of that black, inflexible hose. The silicone won't pop off if you get the right size.

    Hello. Which hydraulic oil do you use for the clutch? Is it possible to use the dot4 oil we use in brakes? Also, on my engine, shifting between 1st and 2nd gear is sometimes very loud and difficult, and sometimes it goes into neutral.

      yes, the dot 4 is what I use. When shifting from 1st to 2nd I short shift around 3500 rpm.

      @VStromGarage  5 років тому +1

      Yes it is. Use Dot 4 brake fluid

    What windshield/ mounting bracket Is that,?
    Thanks for the video.

      It's a Puig windshield, the mounting bracket is the stock one.

      Thank you. I must've missed what year this bike is. My 07 came to me with adjustable brackets(madstad I believe) but not like what you have on yours. Mine is wrench and socket adjustable.
      I'm jealous of the adjustability in yours, lol.
      Thanks for the response and the video. Ride safe.

    Great video, I did mine depressing the brake levers and managed to get some air in the lines. love the vacum pump way. Can you tell us the model of mighty vac you used? I see a lot of models on Amazon so not sure what the differences are.

    • @VStromGarage
      @VStromGarage  5 років тому +1

      They probably don't make that model anymore, I've had that one for 25 years or so, but the one that's similar is Mityvac MITMV8500 Silverline Elite Automotive Vacuum Pump Kit

      Are you using a vacuum type bleeder? If not, you might want to invest in one, they make your life easy when changing brake fluid.

      Done it, my mistake this time. 2nd issue now C46, exhaust valve or servo problem, any idea for repair servo motor or something else?

    • @VStromGarage
      @VStromGarage  Рік тому

      @@denisl.3285 Check out the servo and make sure a rock didn't get caught up in the actuator, or sometimes you might have to adjust the slack of the cable on the servo

    Just a quick question. Does yours have ABS and any special precautions needed on account of that?

    • @VStromGarage
      @VStromGarage  5 років тому

      I have never had any issues with the abs when bleeding the brakes, just bleed them as normal

    Hi, great videos. I have the same bike and when attempting to bleed the clutch today with the mighty vac nothing came out when the bleed valve was opened? I tried several times thinking if it was clogged maybe it would free up but it did not. Can you service with a needle maybe or simply replace the bleed valve? Thanks

    • @VStromGarage
      @VStromGarage  5 років тому

      yes if there's corrosion or something clogging the bleed valve, just remove it and clean it out.
      Either have someone hold their finger over the hole in the caliper while you clean it or get some rags.

    • @mikejacklyn1221

      @@VStromGarage ok thanks, so to remove you simply continue to unscrew the bleed valve?

      @@VStromGarage thanks... i'll probably get two... becuase my brakes haven't been done in a while, and i intend to do them twice... making sure that after the preliminary change, i activate the abs system a bunch.
