    This might just be one of the most useful guides I've ever seen, straight to the point and the troubleshooting part is also very important and not many people add it, thank you!!

    tbh, in my opinion, i think the plants were the most important part of the set-up :D

    Great video! Wondering if you could help, I’m looking at the Project primary e with built in phono, would I just need to buy a phono pre amp and speakers for this? And am I limited on speaker choice? Thanks!

    • @instantclassic2387
      @instantclassic2387  2 роки тому +6

      No need to buy a phono preamp (as it is already in the turntable you have chosen). From here you have 2 options to choose from for the rest of your system:
      1. Connect to an amplifier & passive speakers as seen in this video. The main difference being, you would plug into the Aux input on your amplifier (rather than use the phono stage input) because you already have a phono preamp in your turntable.
      Or
      2. Connect to powered speakers (as the amplifier is inside the speakers). This could be a Bluetooth speaker or a soundbar or something like Edifier or Sonos. As long as the speaker plugs into power and it has a cable audio input.
      If you are confused. Just head to this link, and follow the prompts. It will spell out exactly what you need.

    Hi! I'm quite new to this and just bought the Pro-Ject Primary E Phono and in the market for speakers. Now as I plan to use this without an amp (as theirs a pre-amp in the turntable), but I'm a bit overwhelmed with the speaker choice. As the turntable has a red and white cable output, does my speaker need to have the same input, and do these need to be powered? Thanks so much!

      @@antidevgodotheyy i have a similar problem. it has a pre amp but i got speakers that go with it. did either of you figure it out?

      If you intend to use the turntable's built in preamp then you can connect the turntable directly to powered speakers (speakers which have a power cable) which will normally have the red and white input on them. If you intend to use your turntable with the internal preamp turned off , then you'll need to connect the turntable to an integrated amplifier and then connect your amlifier to your speakers. I would mostly use the second setup if i have passive speakers (speakers without a power cable)

    Is it ok, if sound is lower with AUX cable, connected to the portable speaker? I use the pre-installed phono from Pro-ject and checked on 3 vinyl records.
    If no, how to increase the sound?

    what if the hum persists even after disconnecting the grounding on the amp or turntable? It never did it before today, I cut down my cables today to make it more tidy and since then I just get a big hum.

    • @grahambrown5013
      @grahambrown5013 9 місяців тому

      Disconnecting the earth lead between the turntable and the amp will usually produce a mains hum. Re-connecting the cable should remove the hum

    Do I need an amplifier to play the records ?

    • @instantclassic2387
      @instantclassic2387  2 роки тому

      Hi Lianora,
      Yes. You will always need an amplifier in your system. That is how the sound gets it’s power.
      But if you already own powered speakers like Sonos or a Bluetooth speaker with an AUX input. The amplifier is already inside the speaker. So all you will need is a turntable with a phono stage and you are good to go.
      Check out our website. And select a turntable. It will guide you through how to build your system correctly.

      After a google search. It looks like av-india.com/project-audio/ might be able to help you with a set up that is very similar to this in India.
      Good luck.

    Don't put the speakers on the same platform as the turntable,that turntable along with a majority of other turntables are not immune to vibrations..You are going to have some serious feedback and rumble problems....You will be alright when playing other sources..

    You say an excellent setup ? So why are your speakers on the same surface as the turntable?

    • @MikeMargolis-j8f
      @MikeMargolis-j8f Рік тому +1

      I see this in nearly EVERY video proclaiming these are "great tips" for "beginners."
      A good setup - even if it's super affordable - should boast a set of solid floorstanding towers (my Infinity Primus 363s were RIDICULOUSLY affordable) or bookshelves ON STANDS, away from the equipment stand.

      @user-kv3ue5fp4c agree.. beginners rubbish the sound and put a picture of their 'system' and speakers are next to the turntable.. I actually saw one with a single bookshelf speaker on the perspex turntable lid because apparently didn't have any room ! And then complaining that his stylus jumped when he turned up the Volume!! 🙄🤣 ANYONE IN STAFFORDSHIRE WILLING TO COLLECT ... I HAVE SPEAKER STANDS STILL IN THE BOX AND NEVER USED FOR £20
