All I could do , was cry, through this whole time sitting here in my living room watching this recent concert on you tube, of the most SWEETEST family, ( & I know there are “ many” like The McKamey’s in the southern gospel industry) but The McKamey’s were the inspiration I needed in my life, back in 1980, where I 1st seen them in person at a country church not far from my home town , Harriman , Tennessee. I think Sheryl was just 13, Connie was on the piano, Rueben strumming his guitar, & singing, while the lovely Miss Peg , was doing what we all know she does best….. she was the Peg that stayed the same, “ praising Jesus, “ with the smile so big, the tears flowing like a River of joy , in knowing , & serving God! Her shout then, only became greater through her yrs. of walking with the Lord! Can you imagine NOW, the shout of PRAISE, to the King of Kings in glory land?! Oh my!!! 😁🙌. Her “Visions of Heaven” , is now a reality, in front of her, she walked on, a little farther, heard a voice, saying, “ MY CHILD, ENTER IN”! Oh my my! Dear Peg we miss you here, but WE, have that vision of you running that street of gold , & the saints up there “ just dodged a shoe”! 😄. Lol. We know you are exactly where you want to be, & with the one you sang about & shouted about , for all eternity!! Your 2 girls, & sister Carol , son-in-law, & grandson , brought the house down, but then a special guest appeared, & lit up the stage, filling the hearts with cheer, & gladness, the man who stood beside you in your early days of life together, clear to your last day together on earth, Mr. Rueben Bean McKamey, who was the Highlight of the evening, looking so fine, as he too, shared his heart in song & testimony, “yrs. of memories”, flooded the minds & hearts there, & in the you tube audience as well, as I, can remember hearing the words of Introduction back on my T.V. set, in Chattanooga, “The McKamey’s”! 😄. For the next 30 minutes, I was on the clouds , being blessed watching y’all lift up the name of Jesus! A family that has kept the fire going, for Jesus! Thank you McKamey Family, for a blessed , wonderful concert for God! I enjoyed it Thoroughly! Loved y’all in 1980, & love you even more here in 2024! 👏👏🙌🙌👍😁❤️🙏. Christ Jesus shines through everyone of you! ☝️🙌. A fan, & sister in Christ forever! Deb ( outside of Richmond, Indiana)
Such a finely worded and heartfelt tribute! There will never be another Peg and she will always be missed here but thinking of her running the streets of gold brings smiles to my heart! ❤
Amazing to see all together! Carol was back at it. I just always secretly loved her taking the lead in the mix! Then Sheryl and to see Mr. Ruben was answered prayer! Ms. Peg was there in Spirit as Eli's tribute to her. Connie and Roger, you are keeping this Legacy alive, and we're blessed!
I saw you The Great McKameys at Wallsend Baptist church In Pineville Kentucky I loved Y'all then, still carrying on The ministry of God bless you all Miss Peg is singing now with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords Praise God for Y'all I love your voices ❤️ ❤❤❤❤
It was such a tender moment at around 14:30 when Carol sang that part with Eli, knowing she used to sing it with Peg. I am so thankful I was able to be there that evening.
Wonderful concert. I enjoy each and every one of these singers. Unique voices that blend so well. And, I am enjoying watching Eli get more and more involved. You are all lights in this dark world. Thank you for your ministry.
I’m so glad this was posted on line. I live 1000 miles away and couldn’t get a way to go that far. I sure have watched this over and over and have been so blesses.
Thank you for sharing this. I live 875 miles away so can’t get to the concerts. Carol sounds so good and so does Sheryl. 😊🙌🏼👏🏼👏🏼. And so nice to see Mr. Ruben and hear him sing. So precious to me to see all the members of the McKamey”s. I know Peg is in the great cloud of witnesses. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I really enjoyed the reunion concert. Was glad to see most of the regulars. Hope to see more of these concerts. I miss ya'll and love the Mckameys. God Bless.
I so glad that they are back singing, although I miss sister peg, but she is in heaven look down smiling down on them , i can still hear her voice in there music
Look them up on here. You'll find HUNDREDS of songs they've sang over the years. They were a TREMENDOUS blessing to thousands of people around the country for many years. It was a huge loss when Ms Peg died as a result of a stroke she had but the impact she had a southern gospel music will be felt for years to come. There will never be another like her
Well, about that: I'm as tickled pink as a fine-feathered frog. Eric Lonna, thank you so so much for uploading this. I am 6,000 miles away and fully intended to fly in to attend this concert along with some other things, but the Lord had other plans. Admittedly, I struggled to accept His will but now know it was for the best. So thank you so much for this. It was so good to see everyone together. Do y'all think you could install some EverReady batteries in Mr. Ruben so he can keep going and going? Seriously, y'all are a blessing.
I am so glad you got to see the concert at least online. Mr. Ruben is something else! I thought he would be there, since the concert was only about 15 minutes from his home, but I didn't think he would sing/talk that much. We were at the James Vaughan Festival, about 4 hours away. But, when I heard about this, we got tickets for the reunion and missed the last day of the festival. It was well worth it!
This is what I'm talking about .... THANK YOU RUBEN AND FAMILY.... he is always on time he knows what we have need of , and The blessing ❤️ and encouragement EACH OF YOU ARE ...
Great ur back together. Praise the Lord still great singing. Sure do miss Peg. But she is in heaven praising God. God bless everyone . Sorry for the loss in ur family.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😊😊😊😊😊😅😅😅😅
The Mckameys have/had a unique sound. When you heard them on the radio you didn’t have to listen for the DJ to say that was the McKameys. They had hit songs…they also had Peg Mckamey! For a little while, I got to see them on and off the stage and they carried themselves as Christian folks should. What a legacy!
I love to hear both of them. Carol has a strong, beautiful voice and Sheryl has a unique sound I love too. She sings from the heart; most of the songs she has written.
