I cried the whole time watching this podcast because this man is the very example of what Islam is all about. May Allah SWT grant him long life and peace and always be a beacon for the ummah and the rest of the world.
This man and his other 3 sons were in the same group as me in Hajj 2018. I couldn’t stop observing them through out our trip wondering what kind of personality or characteristics do a person have who have a heart that can forgive such a crime…. I want to be that kind a person. 22 days I observe them and compare them with others. They were different, even though they were the most simplest of all, minding their own business, didnt speak a lot, helped others without being asked or told, never complained. the st.louis group was group of teachers of his school they loved him for the sake of Allah. And I felt they love him because Allah loves him. They were just like us but soo much more that I can’t explain. It is soo good to hear this directly from him. It helped me understand soo much. JazakAllah khair. May Allah reunite him and his family with his son in jannat ul firdous al Alaa.

This reminds me of a hadith of the prophet(saw) when he said that "if the disbelievers truly understood what we have, they would fight us for it" This is what he meant.
I think this was the saying of a sahabi or a tabee’i if i remember correctly

I saw the court footage & I remember being profoundly moved when he said "I forgive you, I blame the devil for misguiding you". And when he hugged his son's murderer, and the murderer broke down crying, I don't think there was a single dry eye in the court room.
Wallahi no one understands a true believers heart.

9 years already passed😮how I cried for months after watching that video in court. And I still look for that video and watch, still cry.
If the Muslims nowadays act with this mindset of forgiving others, our situation around the world would be much better than it is now. There's so much selfishness (me, me and me). May Allah make us amongst those who forgive so He can forgive us on the Day of Judgement. Ameen

I am only 10 mins in. I just want to say, i learned about this Sheikh's son's story years ago, but this is the first more detailed podcast with his story. Im sure i will learn a lot more about him, im glad this was recorded, alhamdulillah.
May Allah reunite him with his son and all loved ones in Jannatul Firdaus, (after a very long healthy life, and after many Muslims benefit from his teachings and Akhlaq).
