Shaun, at the age of 57, and with your guidance, I cleared the wake this weekend! It’s taken me a few months, but I finally did it. Thank you for the content that is helping me stay forever young.
Thanks Shaun - 52 yo and just cleared my first wake to wake (shortened rope and 21 mph) on an older 2000 v drive. I'm super stoked. Will play around more, lengthen rope and speed up a bit. I still want to complete the tumble turn - maybe a goal for next season.
I appreciate you explaining the load and release. It makes sense. I always hear professionals talk about the progressive edge, but I've never understood how you can do that without falling backwards. The load and release helps me understand it better.
Great Video, can't wait to use this next year. Ice just formed last week up here in MN. Looking forward to May. 38 and just rode wakeboard for the first time this year. Thanks for all of your content.
The Best part from your Videos is about Fun! You are always having the most fun possible from your sessions and tips for us! Greetings from Brazil, I hope someday I can have a session with you in US! Keep up the great spirit and promoting wakeboard as the most fun sport anyone can try! Cheers
Jeeeezzzz Shaun, talk about some strong shoulders bro @ 2:20. I can't give you enough respect for staying in such good shape. Motivation for all for sure. You ride like your in you 20's. Keep it going. Love the channel!!
Yes sir! Love the short power jumps! Back in the day (and now) no one around me seemed to appreciate the feel like me. So 🤜! Good stuff again! Thanks! There’s so much fun to be had and groove to be felt even without spins and invert’s. 😎
This is super helpful. Thank you. I thought I had to get more speed which is pretty scary as a beginner. I've been watching a lot of your videos to try and learn how to wake to wake jump but this is the best yet. Can't wait to try these drills over the Aussie summer.
I watched your videos all week I’ve never wakeboarded but we just got a 18.5 foot sea ray so I went and bought a liquid force wakeboard got up first try I even jumped the wake not fully but about halfway got a great picture thanks your videos are so helpful!!!
This is awesome it’s been a long time since I’ve made it wake to wake I’ve always been behind an I/O I’m 60 now and just got my first wake boat looking forward to trying the low risk slower speed challenges thanks Shaun for the instructions
Great to hear you've gotten your first wake boat. Even those are necessary but sure can help kick up the fun a few notches! Sorry for the late reply LRC
Awesome video! But I wish you had an angle from the boat. That way we could more easily understand where you are exactly standing in the power zone and how far out you are going. But overall a Great addition to your other fundamentals episodes. Super helpful. I look forward to meeting you for a lesson.
Woah it’s brilliant see you saying these things, for fun I’d slow the boat down step by step and try wake to wake, exactly like you just did in the video, maybe on a 60ft or 57.5ft handle. You confirmed my comment on your last video where to get a bigger wake you slow the boat down….work to a certain extent before it’s ruined by the cream. 🤟
I'm guessing you need a wakeboard specific rope with no stretch to do this best? I've never used a wakeboard specific rope. But I'm going to get one! I have the cheap PE ones
Def don't have to have a wakeboard specific rope to ride but one of the keys to keeping good control is the handle being still. It's one of the keys to even getting up out of the water. Wakeboard ropes don't stretch very much and can help with keeping the handle still.
@@rolllinsk8r Just not our "Mighty Murray River" in Sth AUS at the moment. So far this season flooding has put most ramps out of action :( Wakeboard comps cancelled :( We're all hoping levels will drop by xmas. We sneak our little boat in 😜 But man, that lake Shaun is on, how'd ya like a crack at that! (especially behind a G23!)
Shaun - I've certainly felt many times what you are doing here. Easiest example to me would be building for a heelside backroll but not completing the release. My issue is, staying on edge all the way to the top of the way seems to ensure that you maintain the most line tension possible. The line tension stays consistent throughout the time in the air. This makes grabs and spins more difficult. Bleeding a touch of edge and then standing tall and pulling makes those tricks much easier to me. Any thoughts?
That's the release you're referring to. If people do a worm burner (stay low and don't get height) it usually comes from staying on the edge and not releasing the power.
Awesome Video!!! Advice for doing this TS? You commented that it’s scary. I still struggle making it W2W TS and feel like I don’t have my TS power zone edge and angle figured out. Wonder if a TS drill like this would help.
@@Shaun.Murray oh ya, watched that one many times and even did some coaching/drills with Brandon Judd on the lake this summer, sadly I am just not quite there yet, still casing the TS wake and missing that same pop I get HS….but I won’t give up! Thanks for all you do with your videos Shaun, appreciate ya!!
@@StoneCosmos keep the rope long and the speed pretty slow (17-19) for now while working on TS. And just go for one wake jumps while doing this so you can work on traveling up rather than worrying about going across
hey this is jessica irvin the head of haddis ministries we just got a new boat super air nautiqe g25 come up some time and teach us some stuff to my kids

I’m learning it atm too, awesome to hear you cleared that at your age and I don’t say that with disrespect but with admiration! 😄🌊🌊

Glad to hear it's making sense more. Lemme know how it goes...when it gets warm enough 😀

Egggg Zackly Bobby!
I just noticed I have your autograph on my wakeboard
Sick👊🏽
- woof. Shrooms and watching Shaun at .25x play back speed…… that’s hours of entertainment! lol
Some of the most fun I've had jumping is with a real short rope and going super slow.
Feels so safe and cruisy!

Great tips!
Thanks Kelly!
If it wasn't 30 in Texas I'd go do the challenge right now
Thanks Shaun I think I am jumping wrong i actually use my front feet to jump now I think I should do back feet
Pretty equal weight actually so the pressure of the water is coming up between both legs

I get it. I lived in Lake St Louis Missouri for many years and waited out the lake being frozen many a winters!

#Thankful
but where was the mic?!?
I take the Bb Talkin boom mic off the surf hat I use while coaching wakeboarding and put it just inside my life vest.
Better than me 🤙
But put this hear so you can get there 😉
What’s up Shaun!
Waddup Nick?!
Shatner's hair piece 😜
You can’t do it this way if you don’t have a wake that bug though.
