If you'd like a (somewhat) shorter game, try the secret missions. Each player is given a mission such as "Control Asia and South America" or "Eliminate the Blue player". Whoever completes their secret mission first, reveals it and wins. Edit: And yes, for elimination, it does not matter who eliminates that player. If that player goes out, and you are still in the game, you succeed
@@TripleSGames yep 😆and for a refresher of the original rules head back to this video (Well for the versions of Risk coming out in the last 5-10 years or so. I think the only difference is how card trading works)
Growing up we always played where you only get three troops plus your continent or cards you trade in. We also played where you if you attack with three dice and the defender has at least three troops you loose three or kill three depending on how the dice roll goes, but partial wins each side looses one. These rule changes speed up the game slightly. Before these changes we would have games lasting days.
Your troops are all the same except for their representative value. Troop = 1 Troop Cavalry = 5 Troops Canon = 10 Troops Cavalry and Cannons don't have any extra abilities or rules. They are purely to save space.
What do I do if I don't have enough conscripted troops? I know there are extra troops in each turn. So isn't it insufficient? Also, how do you calculate attack and defense when using cavalry and artillery? Very difficult
@@TripleSGames Thank you! I've been wanting to introduce it to friends but I'm not very good at explaining rules and you are by far the best "how to" channel.
Here's another way of cards by the way if some don't like the chaotic "progressive" sets. It rather scale by a "fixed" value, 4 for 3 infantry cards, 6 for 3 cavalry, 8 for 3 artilery and 10 for all three in the set.
one minute in, and you've lost me. Two minutes in, my brain's burning. 2:45, I stopped watching. I don't get it. This is why I've got a Risk game, that has only been open once..
Yes on your turn you can attack as much as you wish. As long as you have a border or borderline marking with the location you're attacking. A rule not mentioned is you can also Stalemate. If you are the attacking player and say the defender gets a run of high numbers to fend you off, you can chose to stop attacking before the dice are thrown in a battle round. This can save you from losing most to all but one troop in a territory. (You do not get a Risk Card from Stalmating if it's the only move you make as you did not claim a territory yet during your turn.)
@The_Dr_Fate No. There are a significant number of rule differences. E.g. In the original Risk: - the values of card trades are fixed and vary depending on the figures on the cards. They never increase. - one can only fortify from one territory to an immediately adjacent territory (not through connected territories). - white dice are used instead of blue. - the attacker rolls before the defender. - there is no dragon card to remove.
Wtf I just started looking at playing Risk and now you make a 2024 version? The timing was perfect!
NICE!

Player A can win Secret Mission Risk if Player B eliminates the player whom Player A's mission it was to eliminate.
Thank you! Very excited to play with my friends tonight 😉
Request: how to play castle risk
Very good easy to understand guide! Thanks
I still have mine from 1980 that has Roman numerals for troop pieces. I do like the artwork on the current map here better than mine from 1980

Can we attack Using a cavalry Or Artillery Troops With Each dice?
Wasn’t Kramer and Newman playing this on the subway
Can you attack or defend with cavalry or artillery if you can can you explain how
I am pretty sure they are just to save space if they are attacked you split them up
Your troops are all the same except for their representative value.
Troop = 1 Troop
Cavalry = 5 Troops
Canon = 10 Troops
Cavalry and Cannons don't have any extra abilities or rules. They are purely to save space.
How many maneuvers can we make at the end of each turn?
What do I do if I don't have enough conscripted troops? I know there are extra troops in each turn. So isn't it insufficient? Also, how do you calculate attack and defense when using cavalry and artillery? Very difficult
If you control a continent do you get the extra troops every round?
Is there any advantage for cavalry or artillery?
No. They are just used to save space on the board (if required in any territory).
Same as: a 100 dollar note = ten 10 dollar notes.
yes, you will have more infantry for use elsewhere, sometimes you have to merge troops to place your allotted troops.
How should it be calculated when cavalry and artillery are attacking or defending..?
My Older Brother And I Used To Play "RISK" All The Time, merci.

I have Yugoslavia edition 😂
How peaceful.
@@Ggdivhjkjl Who ever said that Risk and its varients is game of peace?
That’s about to be a nightmare
You mean ,,Risiko"?
I can help
@@MilonaVujanac No, it is called Krisiko, map is Yugoslavia and its regions and there are some extra rulles and cards.
Could you do a video for the rules of Diplomacy?
I'll look into it

Rule book says "may" turn in territory cards on next turn.
Do Squatter. Its a popular classic Australian game
is retreating allowed ? So can you attack with more than 3 units at a time is what I'm trying to ask
Could you make a video on risk star Wars clones edition and risk transformers. Can you combine 2 calvery to get 1 artillery?

This would greatly prolong the game
Do the Risk 60th anniversary pls, there are other challenges in that game
I will say the rules are the same as risk 1980s but there are no changes
I guess this game can be quite... risky.
Good joke!
w pun lol
ha.
What do we do with our traded cards? (I don't understand the trading cards part)
take the corrisponding amount of troops
That overhand shuffle caused me physical pain.

Yup. I want to learn how to play this game so bad, but I get discouraged when i watch a tutorial and get lost 1 minute in. 😭
Risk, one of the games that makes Monopoly seem brisk by comparison.
If I attack ( for example from Brazil to Peru) and no matter if i win or lose, can i attack then like from china to japan in the same move???

Jim, any plans for Easter? It's tomorrow.
So, what's the difference between the 2024 edition and other versions of Risk? Or is this a 2024 edition of the video?

I played RISK for years. Since i discovered VIKTORY II, RISK went into the cupboard. VIKTORY II is, for me, the better RISK game.
Rules for DUNE?
No.
What about command room verison???
Nice
If i buy risk i might just play it like army men without the board or something
you lost me at dragon card
Fr, besides that I understood the whole video. Never heard of a dragon card
1:07 I counted 19.
You do realize that this is also a 2 player game??
How? For too long
Just here to improve the algorithm.
