Doggone it, Billy, it's just not fair. I've got tons of stuff I need to be doing and I just can't seem to tear myself away from your music to save my life. I've only recently discovered you and your incredible band of fine musicians and now I'm hopelessly addicted to your music. Listen to it day and night. Love nothing better than to grab the old D-35 and play along, especially to this catchy tune! Would love to see a live performance some day. You guys make it look way too easy and obviously love what you do. Keep up the great work. A new fan for life here.
I grew up traverse city Michigan. My step dads music venue hosted him and Don Julen many a time. Wish I could could go back to those days. I've been feeling pretty lost and hopeless for the past few years but every time I watch one of these videos I get that young spark in my bones that reinvigorates me
Billy, is turning music on it's ear, so to speak. Blue Grass has been unchained, Billy is not the first damn sure not the last. This young man has taken the music of his generation to a place it has never been before. His live shows are amazing. Go see him before he becomes a superstar. When you have sit 800 ft back from the stage at Tiger Stadium to see his show.
Your prediction of him becoming a superstar 2 years ago ,was 100%correct. He is now exploding on to the entire popular music scene . I predict by 2022 he will be a musical household name.
That guy at 1.04. I dream of being that lucky. To have the person I love resting on my shoulder while we sit and watch Billy perform something so fucking gorgeous in such a small crowd. I hope they both really loved every moment of it.
The lyrics ans concept of this song are incredible not to mention the actual music itself, down to the bridge part towards the end.. unbelievable..the words tho are just amazing 👏
At the second Louisville concert, during the break before the last verse, Billy played "On the Banks of the Old Ohio": another river murder song. So, while we were on the bank of the Ohio in Louisville, we had a river murder song inside of a river murder song. Trippy!

JamTracks by Randy Struble Back in the day people used to complain about Tony Rice also. He had that new sunding stuff that wasn't like Flatt and Scruggs.
at 3:56 as anyone noticed the unintentional high pitched squeal in the banjo players voice ? i'd often wondered why at this point he turns to billy and starts smiling ? well, thats the reason !, funny, love billy and his band, i'm just hoping, when he can, he'll announce a U.K. Tour, i swear i'll be first in line...... keep up the great work guys, big love from the U.K.
Judging by his lil smile after, I'm guessing it's unintentional!! God me too man, near Glasgow and would literally crawl on my hands and knees to anywhere in the UK to see these guys live
I have heard alot of his stuff now and this one is probably my favorite. Him, Marcus king, and Tyler childers are really really talented. Cody jinks too
He's a showman - the glasses, the fan blowing his hair - he's an ironic country rocker who draws even a reluctant audience (which this one was; I was there) completely into his web.
Great, Billy has a bright future, good singer, great guitar picker. Banjo, very good. Mando player very good, smooth. All of their stuff is very, very good. They could hold my attention for hours.
To all the people who had only "discovered" Billy recently: What the heck were you watching before that youtube never recommended Billy? Not bluegrass I guess.
