    I bought the rideknit leather jacket and i loved it. After having it for a little less than a year, i have some information on it, i would like to share. I recently crashed at low speed and found out, that the elbow and shoulder armors aren't cutting it. i got bruises both places and it really wasn't that hard of a crash. I bought the orange version which looks amazing and matches the grey and orange details on my bike. Biggest gripe i had with it, is that all the orange details on the leather aren't sown into the leather and actually cracks over time. It would've eventually started to flake and fall off the jacket, if i didn't just crash with it. I believe that the regular v3 atleast has the A-star logo on the chest sown on. The rideknit version doesn't. I love the comfort of this jacket and the airflow on the arms is unrivaled in the summer. But as Brandon says, it really lacks airflow on the chest. But i started riding with only a baselayer under it during the hotter days last summer and that solved it mostly.
    I bought it in a size 48 and i think i'm built a bit like Brandon and i'm buying a size 50 this time. An odd thing about the size 48 is that i bought the nucleon flex pro (CE2) chest protectors in a size small and they don't perfectly fit the pockets, so the thinner outer layer around the pads fold up. I had to adjust them regularly, which was annoying, and the jacket fit very snug, when i added them with a CE 2 back protector aswell. I'm hoping that a size 50 with shoulder and elbow armor swapped with nucleon pro (CE 2) and the chest and back protectors will be a better fit. I'll live with the details cracking and falling off at some point. Cause the jacket is really that great and confortable. Especially the rideknit fabric and it is really soft on the neck area.
    And by the way - It is very chilly in the spring and autumn months for me who lives in a colder climate, but a heated jacket solved that issue for me. Emphasis on jacket, cause a vest won't be enough with all the airflow coming from the arms.
    I hope this information helps someone :)

      Where do you fit the chest protectors? I can only find the pocket for the back protector.

      @@MrXcatalinX you may have already found out, but in this jacket you have to open up the zip in the liner at the rear, the one on the lower back. From there you can access the chest, shoulder and elbow armor to swap as you see fit.

    Take it from someone who owns this jacket and has ridden in it countless times since it’s first release in spring of 2021. In my opinion, this thing flows A TON of hair. Not so much through the chest area, but definitely all throughout your arms and you can feel the air flow through your armpits and out your back. I live in the high desert of Southern California so summers are brutal. Sitting at a signal light gets pretty intense but the moment i start to roll on the throttle, in no way am I joking but you can INSTANTLY feel air flow through the jacket. It truly was an amazing feeling when first riding with this jacket and it’s a radically more comfortable than any other jacket I’ve worn by alpine stars. Definitely buy one if you’re on the fence. You won’t regret it.

    I got this jacket when it first came out. It’s good between 65 and 80 degrees. The knit makes it bad for colder weather and the lack of perforating make it a bad hot weather jacket. I have the black/orange one. It pairs nicely with my Arai XD-4 Vision that’s black white and orange. It’s not KTM orange. More like Harley orange

      Yeah I felt the same way. It’s super comfy though. I think the rideknit fabric is going to start to frizz up as it gets into more contact with velcro gear.

      It's definitely strange that they didn't include perforation for the ride knit jacket. Right now, if you want ride knit AND perforation, you have to opt for the more expensive Fusion jacket. But they don't make the Fusion in the kick ass red color...

    I almost bought one but couldn't find my size - I was in Vietnam at the time. However, I was able to get a Missile Tech-air airflow (perforated) in my size on clearance (50% discount) so I snatched that up. Now, I need a winter leather jacket so I'll consider this jacket or a non-perf Missile V2. The price is similar but the Missile V2 is way more protective with double layers of leather in the impact zones (a rarity with A*).

Well, to be fair I've got an odd body type so, gear basically never fits anyways. but jeez. I have a bilt mesh jacket, and that damn thing just will not stay on while I'm riding. it just slowly lifts up my body until the only thing protecting my lower back is my tshirt.

      At those temps, this jacket will flow as much air as possible for a sport-textile hybrid. Short of going full Mesh, this would be an excellent option. It'll still be hot, but so will everything else that's leather at those temps.

    Fortunately there's a link in the description otherwise I wouldn't bother to look for this jacket.

    It’s been working for Sony’s shitty naming conventions.
    And BMW and Mercedes generally have pretty bizarre naming as well.

    • @Omar-kw5ui
      @Omar-kw5ui 3 роки тому

      what? BMW and Mercedes have bizzare naming? They literally have some of the easiest to follow, logical naming schemes as they get. BMW: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 series. 1 smallest - 7 most expensive biggest. The same goes for their x range, An X prefix makes the car an SUV.
      Mercedes for the most part have the same thing except they use letters: A, B, C, E, S. From least luxorius / smallest to most luxurious. If you add a GL prefix, then you have their SUV range. If you add an EQ then you have their electric range.

    • @zero11010
      @zero11010 3 роки тому

      @@Omar-kw5ui the 318 was a 3 series with a 1.8L. The 525 was a 5 series with a 2.5L. The 740 was a 7 series with a 4.0L. That makes sense. The 6 and 8 series came and went. Generally there were 3 VERY distinct classes with engine sizes that were a part of the name and corresponded directly to how performance oriented that model was for that series.
      Then the 3 series was split between sedan and coupe with the creation of the 4 series. And the 1 series was made and split similarly with the 2 series as with the 3 and 4. That convention didn’t continue exactly with the 5 and 7. But, then the 1 series went crazy and now that’s pretty unrelated to the 2 series which now has a Gran Coupe with 4 doors which somehow isn’t a sedan, and you certainly don’t know as much about the engine by the second two numbers anymore … but higher numbers are “better” … probably. And, what’s the difference between the M2 Competition and the M4 with the Competition Package?
      Anyone can learn all of that. Knowing the difference between those things isn’t very intuitive. That’s my point.
      Anyone can learn Sony’s obtuse number and letter designations for their products and what those things mean. Those numbers and letters all correspond to very specific things. So, the Sony WH-1000XM3 has a whole lot in common with how BMW names things.
      I’m not doing that breakdown for Merc right now. I’ve proved my point.

    • @Omar-kw5ui
      @Omar-kw5ui 3 роки тому

      @@zero11010 I don’t think you’ve proved a point at all. The BMW naming scheme has always been very intuitive. You’ve picked out cherry picked examples that do nothing to help your point in the first place. This is because it remains true that the number of the series indicates the tier of the vehicle in their lineup. Whether a 2 series has 2 or 4 doors, or whatever body shape it has, its still based on a 2 series chassis or a chassis of that tier. Moreover, the higher the engine number indicates the performance. You’ve not shown otherwise.
      Sony on the other hand you literally can’t tell what the product is in their lineup based on the naming scheme at all. I much prefer having Bmw use 1 or 2 or 3 series, as opposed to the BMW fox, the BMW skyline, the BMW dream - you can’t tell what car is more upmarket or serves what purpose based on names that you can’t rank.

    • @zero11010
      @zero11010 3 роки тому

      @@Omar-kw5ui read what I said again. You’re not understanding and I don’t want to take the time to explain it in more detail to help you.
      Anyone who knows the product line can make sense of the numbers and letters. For anyone who doesn’t their nonsense. And the meaning of those numbers and letters MUST be consistent and follow a logical pattern for things to be intuitive. I showed examples with BMW where that isn’t the case.
      You can call proof cherry picking all you like.

    • @Omar-kw5ui
      @Omar-kw5ui 3 роки тому

      @@zero11010 in that case, with the definition you have, no naming scheme will be intuitive. If an ordered numerical or alphabetical system is not the easiest naming system to understand intuitively quickly, then I don’t know what is. The cherry picked examples you pulled out did not support your point at all, that is my argument. It doesn’t matter how the 2 series or 4 series originated. And what they became. What matters is that a 3 series is a bigger/more upmarket car than a 2 series. Similarly, a 4 series is bigger and better car than the 1 series. Anyone understands this naming convention intuitively as soon as they see a 1 series and a 4 series - this is how simple the naming scheme is. Now the fact that you started to bring in a grand coupe and compare it to the regular series is a none point. The modifier grand coupe in the name is there for a reason. Also, let’s say there is 1 or 2 special models that don’t fit exactly in the naming scheme, does that break the naming scheme? Of course not. The trend is set by the fact that 95% of the lineup follows the very simple rules I mentioned previously.

    Review more products you’re not in love with. Especially some things from the bilt and sedici brands. It will give you more credibility.
    The goal isn’t to crap on products. It feels like you really like everything you show, which is cool, but everything isn’t good. Showing people a handful of stinkers makes the winners stick out more.

    • @King0fgames_

    • @zero11010

      @@King0fgames_ as I said, it increases their credibility. It’s part of why most American shows that look at cars are terrible and why shows like Top Gear and Fifth Gear are superior. It’s their ability to speak plainly about which things just aren’t good and should be avoided.
      If you look at most American car series you’ll find that each car that gets looked at is great … always. So there’s little reason to keep watching and find out what their opinion is.

      @That Dude you are right. These are NOT entirely biased reviews. They do sometimes point out products that aren’t so hot. It’s the only reason I watch their reviews.
      I don’t remember which specific product this video is for but they reviewed a $400 cotton motorcycle shirt with no armor. That’s obviously pretty absurd.
      If you call it a product overview you can give an overview of the product and what it offers and leave it there. That’s fine.
      If it’s a review you should actually be reviewing the item and if it’s bad you SHOULD be telling people to stay away from it.

      @That Dude yes. And, I get that it’s easy for a company to decide to not send them products or preferential deliveries or all kinds of spiteful childish stuff.
      It’s not easy. It isn’t as easy as “just be honest”.
      But, I do strongly feel that they need to have products on occasion where they straight up tell people to stay away.
