ABOUT THIS VLOG
➡ After going to what we thought was the biggest and craziest party in Portugal, we were told by hundreds of our subscribers that São João Festival do Porto was much bigger. So naturally we had to go to Porto to see if this was as big and epic as they said.
We got surprised big time, when we arrived to see that São João Festival was a lot bigger than the party in Lisbon, as this is the WHOLE city of Porto that turns into a giant party.
The highlight was of course the fireworks, but also meeting and hanging out with so many different and happy people.
We are definitely coming back for the São João Festival next year! This was nothing short of EPIC!

My Town Party ( Festas São Pedro Porto de Mós) is starting tomorrow, it is a smaller Party but as "Marchas Populares" and a lot of small Tascas, if you wanna try Portuguese food there is no where better to go :D , 1 hour a 30 min by car from Lisbon.

Luis e zona da Ribeira, as luzes dão uma beleza plástica tal que não há palavras….Este ano o fogo de artificio esteve soberbo! Parabéns Porto!

YEEES!!! Happy to see you actually went to São João... and brought along Amalie's super-cute siblings! Portuenses (Porto habitants) are really authentic, friendly, partying people! That old lady is a MONUMENT to that haha! You actually got a very nice spot to watch the fireworks... but then you only have that one bridge to come back to Porto, so that's a major downside. Last time, I stayed next to the bridge pillars on Porto's side. Did you stay around downtown, afterwards? Many people traditionally walk along the river onto other partying spots and finish in the beaches of Foz, until the sun rises. Anywho - super stoked that you decided to go and got to experience São João and forge some nice memories!

Maybe come to Madeira for xmas and new year as it has a huge party on the 23 rd "noite do mercado" market night, and book early as flights now are about €800 for 2 in these dates.

Wow! I have to go to Porto one day. That looked insane in the best way possible. Let me make a recommendation: It's not as wild as this or as crowded but you should go to the Sanjoaninas festival and parade in Angra do Heriosmo on Terciera Acores. It's a very different spectacle but a beautiful spectacle none the less.

I'm on holiday in Porto right now. It's a very nice city and It's fun to see the same things you have seen, too bad I did miss the festival. Any recommendations to go to that are not mentioned in a normal guide?
Go on a foot or segway tour and if you're not really interested in seeing historic things, tell them and they will take you to some cool spots. I have some friends in the business and they do it all the time. Have fun in our amazing city, my friend.

I guess the best are the fireworks......the rest is eating,drinking and....dancing...In Lisbon as u know in S.António, we have the weddings during all day, the " marchas" in Av. da Liberdade in the evening and of course eating, drinking and music.....more diversity,more colorful and more style....
