I've seen Bloodywood live twice, and they are just the nicest, loveliest guys. They waited outside after the first show to make sure every fan who wanted a word or a photo got one. At the second show, they hung out and chilled with fans outside for quite awhile, even though they must have been exhausted from performing and a punishing tour schedule. Combined with their awesome music, social consciences, and all the good they do... WELL WORTH buying their album and seeing them live. I can't help screaming along with"Dana Dan." Such a meaningful song for every woman on earth. We need to hear from our brothers against sexual violence!
Well that's quite a narrow description of what Kali is and stands for (to her worshippers and overall). More like "Phantom", true protector for good kind people taking care of them and all that Niceness But to mean evil people? Well they really get what they deserve and in a way asked for by being such a-holes oh ou. 😅❤🎉😂
I think it even works as a reference for Western culture, since they're basically talking about taking violent sexual abusers and ripping their hearts from their chests. Kali Ma! KALI MA!
They are invoking Kali. Kali also called Kalika, is a major Hindu goddess associated with time, change, creation, power, destruction and death. Also, I fully endorse and support what this song is saying, and I have done what they are espousing.
Thank you for checking these guys out. They go hard in anger, but also in compassion. In person, they are quick to laugh, and have hearts of gold. I believe the blue woman was actually the goddess Kali, associated with empowement, death, and justice. The female vocalist is named Archy J, who has her iwn UA-cam channel under the name The Snake Charmer. Fantastic vocalist and bagpiper. I recommend checking out "Aaj", which will show a little more uplifting sude to them, and Archy actually appears in person.
Bloodywood has a way of taking you through a gambit of emotions with their messages and trailblazing brand of metal. Raoul's lyrics speak truths backed by Karan's compositions with Jayant's growls putting the exclamation point on each of their tracks. Loved seeing the metalhead in you on full display, Beth. Our brothers from India have a knack of making the world seem smaller and how the majority of folks are more alike than propaganda tries to say otherwise.
One of their most intense songs... and the only one that doesn't have subtitles on automatically. Great band, great songs. They like to write about problems in Indian government and culture, but most people have similar problems to some degree. They finished recording their 2nd album about a month ago. No word yet on a release date, but they are independent musicians, and their first album sold out of physical media a lot faster than they expected.
I love this song so much. Message and Music just work together so good. Though I must say, that for you as a vocalist I would defenetly also advise you to also watch Jee Veerey and Aaj. Jayant has such a wide vocal range from clear highs to deep growls its just amazing to see them coming from the same person.
My fave Bloodywood song! Lyrically and musically. Loved seeing you get into it! I saw these guys at Download last year and theyvwere so much fun. So much energy. Metallica headlined (twice!) but second to them I will always remember Bloodywood and their superb crowd work that made everyone feel a part of the performance 🙂
I don't consider myself a metal head, but i love this babe since i discovered they a while ago. They have so powerful songs, and they seem to be very nice and humble guys.
You are so good at this… making the untrained listener appreciate the techniques of creating an amazing vocal. My favorite creator in this area… bar none. Look into Lawrence: Don’t Lose Sight (the acoustic version)… or I’m Confident.. That I’m Insecure (also the acoustic version). You will NOT be disappointed. 🤘❤️🤘
Bloodywood sits in the back of my playlist always, and I always almost forget about them until they come up on shuffle. I actually recently added this song to my playlist, funny enough, because it was featured in a badass scene in Moneky Man.
A socially relevant song. That's the main part you must get from it even though it is punchy and pleasant musically. To put an end to rapists in a society one punch at a time.
@@cybergeek11235 Never! LOL! But, because I live on the west coast of the US, I'm always one of the last to see these videos. Happily, their audience continues to grow larger, which inevitably puts any comment from me lower on the list... a scenario I am perfectly happy with!! 🤘 But, I thank you for looking for me. Makes me feel special. ☺️
Fantastic reaction & analysis! Really enjoyed your enjoyment & commentary 😄 Bloodywood is definitely a rabbit hole you should get more into. You won't want to come back out 😉 Now is the best time to catch up on a few more gems from this album, Rakshak, before they drop the first single from their 2nd album in a couple weeks.
@SocratesAurelius can't guarantee 100%, but pretty sure, yes. I know they've worked on shooting more than 1 video for the new album. Just waiting for the Patreon announcement any day now that they're ready to start blessing us with the new jams 😁
@Brudder7 The wait is killing me! But they definitely said this month. Since it's my birthday month, it feels like I'm waiting for the best present ever. I know what it is, but I can't have it yet 😅 Though, I suspect we'll be hearing something from the band very soon.
Your analysis is so cool. You're hearing stuff I didn't hear on my like 30th listening of this track, and when you single it out, I hear it instantly. Love your work here, thank you dude.
I would suggest not even trying to follow the subtitles at first lol. Just go with it. And be prepared when the 2nd singer comes in. 😳 You definitely need to hear "Gadaar" as well. Your neck will hurt from headbanging so hard.
I have watched you for many years. I've watched you grow, and let me tell you I believe this is the best video you've ever made. Not just because of music. But literally everything.
It's only just occurred to me that Raoul has Kratos face paint on as well. Not sure if that was intentional or not. I first listened to this with earphones on the day they released it and it was a complete aural assault. It was brutal and loved it and I still do.
There's a lot of songs that I find more comfortable to use my throat singing techniques. As opposed to my Frye vocal techniques. I use a combination while rolling my tongue. Plus the weird metal pipe resonance of my throat.
Bloodywood is awesome. On top of being just really good people they bring so much energy live. I'm really looking forward to the new music they've been working on. Not sure how much you've dug into the rest of their stuff since you mentioned the community outreach things, but Jayant has a good singing voice too.
Sexual assault is something that is common to all cultures and countries. A song like this demanding that we stand up and fight violently against it is something different and should be something more people hear.
Apologies Beth, but i just now saw this. I giggled like a buffoon waiting to see your reaction because this is so hard hitting and relentless. Especially when the speed metal rap vocal first kicks in. 😂
At the moment, they only have their debut album Rakshak out, besides a few other videos on YT. It has 10 tracks & absolutely every 1 is a must listen. They cover so many important topics & give an impressively wide range of vocals throughout. While every song sounds like Bloodywood, each is unique. Endurant is my personal favorite & oft overlooked despite having a great video. In Zanjeero Se, no video, Jayant the harsh vocalist gets downright whispery with his clean vocals - chill bumps 😅 - & BSDK.exe, no video, is probably the song I play on repeat the most often. If you truly fall in love with the music, check out their YT doc "Raj Against the Machine" to fall in love with the guys too 😄 Hope this helps. Keep an eye out for the first single release from their new album in just a couple weeks! 😁
Same, I can't think about that final breakdown/prechorus (with Jayant's big long screams) without feeling chills, and can't listen to or watch it or watch a reaction to that moment without crying. It's just unbelievably powerful. That moment is an all-time brilliant example of art's ability to capture and communicate emotion.

Love the band and this song, but I feel it's a bit of a pity that this is the main song that gets recommended the most. You got the message, however it's very easy for people to overlook and treat them as another edgy, tough guy metal band. Their other songs are completely different from this. They did a song on mental illness and bullying (as you said), another one about mourning the loss of a pet, singing about uniting and celebrating diversity, and about standing up against corruption. These are compassionate, big-hearted people. So when they drop a song this aggressive, it's not heavy for the sake of heavy. This is them rising up in righteous fury, invoking divine wrath. The context makes the message so much more powerful, in my opinion.
Jayant's huge long sustained screams toward the end (I guess I'd call it the last prechorus?) gives me chills every time I so much as THINK about this song. It feels like he's gathering up and carrying and unleashing the collective fury and trauma and vengeance of everyone who's ever been victimized. Seriously makes me tear up with pure awe just to say it. Might be the most powerful moment in any piece of music I've ever experienced, and I've heard some pretty epic basis for comparison.
