- Karen Carpenter, one half of the iconic Carpenters duo, rose to fame in the 1970s with her crystal-clear vocals and drumming skills. Alongside her brother Richard, who crafted their lush arrangements, they dominated the charts with unforgettable songs like "Close to You" and "Top of the World." However, Karen tragically battled a severe eating disorder, which ultimately claimed her life at the young age of 32. Could her family dynamics, particularly her mother's perceived favoritism towards her brother Richard, have contributed to her struggle? Find out in this video.

Karen Carpenter still is the most talented and best female "pop" vocalist in the world 40 years after her passing.
Couldn't stand her.
@@streaming5332 But here you are clicking on a video about her and taking the time to read comments.
I suffer from anorexia as well, RIP sweet karen. Greatest singer who ever lived and gave us hope for recovery for this crippling disease we have to endure
So sad 😢
In my opinion
She was fine
She was fantastic Singer
There are many inaccuracies in this video. For one Karen's divorce wasn't finalized. She was supposed to go to her attorneys office the day she died to sign the final divorce settlement. She died still legally married.
Correct indeed 👍
Just a nice sound. May she rest in peace ✌️🕊️
Great to see lots of photos that I haven’t seen before!
I always loved her music. Still do. She was never heavy it's sad. Did her mom tell her she was.???? Makes me wonder.
So sad that her mother planted the
poison seed that eventually destroyed her.
Please watch,

Such a crying shame, that someone so gifted was just as tortured by demons.

At least her brother wasn't totally hostile. She should have left that family, no unconditional love.
Ypu don t know that was very unknown at that time. Don t cast stones at glass houses.
Karen and her brother were lovers ❤
Today, she would have survived and thrived.
She should never got married!!! Ever!! Especially to her real estate husband!!! Who used her and abused her!! Her brother should have protected her better from this man!!!!

Karen was raised by parents that lived through the Great Depression. Lack of food led to a particular body type. Depression era parents projected a starvation level norm.
Far out. My mother lived thru the the depression she had a fat body type.
