I also installed a rear camera. But then on my Peugeot 308 SW II from 2016, a newer model then in this video. It was a lot of work to get it working so I like to share my findings with you: I used an Ebilaen AA/CarPlay module. Adrian posted another video about that topic which I used. Many thanks! And a Smartour 1080p camera. For installing a rear camera on a newer Peugeot model I used a video of the Do It Yourself guys. I found out as explained in that video that I had to use a relais to make it work since the voltage was varying between 12V-14V (so even above the 12V use a relais). They don't explain it in that video but it does matter to which yellow cable of the two cables of the relais you connect the - and signal/reverse light. Check Google for an image of how to connect the cables to the relais. Next, I also found out that I had to use the small red cable attached to the video cable. So don't cut it off! I had to connect it to the REVERSE input cable on the back of the Ebilaen module. This provides the module the signal that the car is in reverse. At first I connected this cable to the reverse light cable but as said earlier the voltage was varying too much. Therefore I connected the tiny red REVERSE cable to the + cable of the relais which also goes to the camera. And then it worked! Turn off OEM|Aftermarket camera in the main menu under settings > car. Finally, the guide lines on the screen were opposite to that my steering wheel was doing. Go to Front View in the main menu and change View to Normal of Reverse. Hopes this works for you. Cheers!

Hello. Yes, you can power the camera by connecting the red wire that comes with the video signal cable to the PINK (BACK) wire on the Android unit cable. That wire (pink) has +12v when you put it in reverse. It will receive its ground through the video signal cable.

Asadar, daca alimentez camera direct de la firele de alimentare ale farului de marsarier, si daca alimentez ecranul de la bricheta (eu nu am navigatie la masina), acele fire rosii de pe cablul de semnal video cu mufe RCA galbene nu sunt necesare.
Acel fir rosu se conecteaza la monitor si la sursa de alimentare a camerei ( plusul lampii de mers inapoi) doar dacă monitorul are nevoie de acest lucru pentru a detecta primirea semnalului video.

@@danielhusi Ok. Trebuie sa ai un fir rosu ce vine in ambele capete ale cablului pentru semnal video (cel care aduce semnalul de la camera spre unitatea Android). In capatul dinspre camera acel fir rosu se leaga la plusul de alimentare a camerei (plusul becului de mers inapoi) iar in celalalt capat de la unitatea Android firul rosu se leaga la cablul ce iese din unitatea Android si pe ca care scrie Reverse IN. Am senzatia ca ti-am raspuns si pe un grup de Logan pe facebook :)

Hi Bruno. I don't know if the number plate lamps are with or without fuse. However, put on new light bulbs and check after a few minutes if lights up with the car switched off and the engine switched off. Search the menu for some settings to enable or disable rear view camera, search also in Factory Settings. If you can't find it, ask the seller, I hope he can help you.
@@AdrianDragan In the settings it is all Ok. The rear camera in the factory settings is enabled. I have not installed the camera yet. I will install it tomorrow, I hope that it switches then automatically to the camera window. I have the same android unit as you, I have a Peugeot 308 mk1 1.6hdi (2008) and followed your instructions but nothing happens when I choose reverse gear. Do you need to set up the android unit for reverse camera? Also I have "camera in" cable and a "video out" cable. I have tried both and nothing works. Do you have a manual book?

However I found out that you must connect the 2 pink reverse wires at the back of the unit, then whilst in reverse touch & hold the screen and you will have another set of controls to link your camera to the unit. Hello. Check with a multimeter the positive and negative of the wires. With a little attention you can follow the wiring leading to the reversing light bulb and from there you can figure out which is positive and which is negative.
My camera’s cable has to go to the upper place where you screwed the screws of your camera (so the “roof” of that small area, where you made a marking with your screwdriver). If I drill upwards like that, would the cables go to the bottom of the car, like your cables did? I should mention I have 2008 Citroen C4, pretty similar to Peugeot.

Hey! Very good video how to connect camera in the car. Have plugged the camera into a golf mkv5 2008 and assume it works the same as on your car. The problem when I put in (reverse) is a yellow warning symbol and no picture I get = (don't really know what is wrong. Should I disconnect both GND cables it from the camera and the spm is behind the stereo for it to be picture? when you connect the yellow video cable it says on your cord (BACK V IN) on my iso cable it says (F CAM-CVBS) can it be because it is not connecting ?

Today I have installed it on my Peugeot 407. Many thanks for help, it was easier for me to connect iz to the Reverse wire on head unit. No errors. It looks amazing. Only difference is that i have drill the hole for the whole Camera.
I am currently considering doing this to my 106, but I am really struggling with the camera placement as my number plate and lights for it are attached to the boot but the reverse lights are not. My problem is the interior of the boot is metal and I would have to run the power lead to the reverse light up through the boot and back down the inside of the rear of the car. Is that advisable or is there a better way I haven't thought of?
Hello. I don't think you have any other option but to pull the cable through the trunk door and then go to the reversing lamp, I think this would be the best option.

Salut. Vezi ca undeva in meniul Factory Settings este o optiune pentru activarea camerei de mers inapoi, parca se numeste "Prohibit Reverse". Schimba setarea de acolo daca o gasesti.

Hello. You can power the camera from your Android device, but the video signal may be interfering, but you can try. If the image is affected, power up the camera from the reversing light.

Hello! The cable connection is the best. However you need power for the camera, you will still need to pull a cable from the reversing lamp to the camera.

When using the wired version, the signal i really bad, its black and White with alot of lines distorting the picture, if i plug the camera to av 1. On the unit, the picture is just as bad. Salut Adi, în primul rând apreciez videoclipul și modul în care ai explicat fiecare pas. În continuare aș dori să vin cu anumite adăugiri: MARE ATENȚIE! Firul roșu de la RCA (cablul galben prin care se transmite semnalul video la navigație) este firul de TRIGGER, ce înseamnă asta? El trebuie legat la alimentarea camerei și la cablul BACK din mufa navigației (acolo unde ai spus ca nu mai faci conexiunea deoarece ai făcut-o la becul de marșarier), deoarece prin primirea semnalului de tip TRIGGER navigația va trece automat pe cameră în momentul în care va primi semnalul becului de mers înapoi, în caz contrar (dacă nu conectezi firul de TRIGGER), da, camera merge, doar că navigația nu va trece automat pe ea. DIN NOU ATENȚIE acea conexiune despre care vorbesc se face doar în cazul vehiculelor care nu dispun de CAN-BUS. În cazul în care vehiculul are CAN-BUS ceea ce ai făcut este absolut perfect. În incheiere doresc să specific că nu e o critică spusă în nume de rău, sunt doar anumite specificații care pot fii de folos unor persoane care doresc să facă acest lucru.

Reglajul nu este acolo. Trebuie sa demontezi scrumiera pasagerilor din spate, scoti suprtul scrumierei tragand din partea de jos apoi vezi surubul si piulita de reglaj. Salut! Mai multi utilizatori au semnalat aceasta problema la masini din grupul VAG cu unitati Android. Eu nu stiu o rezolvare exacta dar se pare ca problema ar fi de la un Gatway Can care trebuie updatat, nu stiu in ce consta aceasta procedura. Vezi comentariile din clipul in care am instalat unitatea pe Pasat B6. Succes si tie pe mai departe :)
Hi Adrian, I really like your Peugeot videos, they are of such great help! At the moment, I'm trying to install a rear cam myself here on the 308. My cam is a variant attached to a license-plate light. However, that version has the video cable on the inside of the light, so any cabling must go somewhere along the inside of the bumper. Is there a trick to make a cable go from, say, the left rear light to right over the left license-plate light without taking the whole bumper apart? The license-plate cam seems so widely used, so I bet someone must have done it on a 308... I appreciate any tips here :) Thanks, Sascha

Thank you for the appreciations, Changing headlamps can not do it because it is forbidden in my country to change over the lights with others that did not have the car in the factory. A solution would be a retrofit with original pieces, but it is far too expensive.

Hi Adrian. Once again, thanks a lot for another great video! Very helpful. As I mentioned in another video, I bought a Mekede M300s unit. I also bought a rear camera from them. It seems to be easy to mount the camera, but I also wanted to mount rear and front parking sensors (the car doesn't have it yet). The system (mekede) seems to be prepared for those, because when I put the rear gear, it showns a screen like the one in this video, where I should see the camera image, but it also has a side image with a car having 4 radars in the front and 4 radars in the back. What I find strange is that the unit's wiring diagram only shows how to connect 4 parking sensors, 2 on the back and 2 on the front. Do you know if this is correct? If so, where should the sensors be placed? For me it would make much more sense to have 4 on the back and 4 on the front, but I can't understand is this is possible.
In that picture are the audio outputs. The Android unit will display only the original parking sensors, the data from them being received through the CANBUS protocol.

Can I, maybe, buy one of those kits that receive signal from 8 sensors and also a camera, and send the image to a monitor, and instead of buying a monitor, send the image signal to the android unit using the AV IN?

Salut. Prin sistemul can unitatea radio primește semnalul ca a fost introdusa treapta de mers inapoi. Decodorul canbus ce-l primești odată cu unitatea Android transmite semnalele primite către tableta Android.

Hello. Yes, you can power the camera by connecting the red wire that comes with the video signal cable to the PINK (BACK) wire on the Android unit cable. That wire (pink) has +12v when you put it in reverse. It will receive its ground through the video signal cable.

Super! Multumesc! In sfarist am gasit la tine explicatia ce trebuie facut cu cele doua capete de fir rosii de pe cablul de semnal video. Asadar, daca alimentez camera direct de la firele de alimentare ale farului de marsarier, si daca alimentez ecranul de la bricheta (eu nu am navigatie la masina), acele fire rosii de pe cablul de semnal video cu mufe RCA galbene nu sunt necesare.
Acel fir rosu se conecteaza la monitor si la sursa de alimentare a camerei ( plusul lampii de mers inapoi) doar dacă monitorul are nevoie de acest lucru pentru a detecta primirea semnalului video.
Am probat și eu o cameră ( încă nu am montato) și nu funcționează...eu nu am legat nicăieri firele alea roșii care tu le-ai tăiat...crezi că trebuie legate și el undeva ?

@@danielhusi Ok. Trebuie sa ai un fir rosu ce vine in ambele capete ale cablului pentru semnal video (cel care aduce semnalul de la camera spre unitatea Android). In capatul dinspre camera acel fir rosu se leaga la plusul de alimentare a camerei (plusul becului de mers inapoi) iar in celalalt capat de la unitatea Android firul rosu se leaga la cablul ce iese din unitatea Android si pe ca care scrie Reverse IN. Am senzatia ca ti-am raspuns si pe un grup de Logan pe facebook :)

Hi Bruno. I don't know if the number plate lamps are with or without fuse. However, put on new light bulbs and check after a few minutes if lights up with the car switched off and the engine switched off. I have the same android unit as you, I have a Peugeot 308 mk1 1.6hdi (2008) and followed your instructions but nothing happens when I choose reverse gear. Hello. Do the controls on the steering wheel work? But when you put it in reverse does it switch to black image (no rear camera signal)?

However I found out that you must connect the 2 pink reverse wires at the back of the unit, then whilst in reverse touch & hold the screen and you will have another set of controls to link your camera to the unit. Think I found it now, with no instructions from AliExpress it's difficult but I found it. Thanks for your reply.

Hello. Check with a multimeter the positive and negative of the wires. With a little attention you can follow the wiring leading to the reversing light bulb and from there you can figure out which is positive and which is negative.

My camera’s cable has to go to the upper place where you screwed the screws of your camera (so the “roof” of that small area, where you made a marking with your screwdriver). If I drill upwards like that, would the cables go to the bottom of the car, like your cables did? I should mention I have 2008 Citroen C4, pretty similar to Peugeot.

You don't get any errors on the cbus, everything works perfectly. You can power rear view camera from the Android unit on the "Reverse" wire.
Today I have installed it on my Peugeot 407. Many thanks for help, it was easier for me to connect iz to the Reverse wire on head unit. No errors. It looks amazing. Only difference is that i have drill the hole for the whole Camera.
I am currently considering doing this to my 106, but I am really struggling with the camera placement as my number plate and lights for it are attached to the boot but the reverse lights are not. My problem is the interior of the boot is metal and I would have to run the power lead to the reverse light up through the boot and back down the inside of the rear of the car. Is that advisable or is there a better way I haven't thought of?
Hello. I don't think you have any other option but to pull the cable through the trunk door and then go to the reversing lamp, I think this would be the best option.

Salut. Vezi ca undeva in meniul Factory Settings este o optiune pentru activarea camerei de mers inapoi, parca se numeste "Prohibit Reverse". Schimba setarea de acolo daca o gasesti.

Hello. You can power the camera from your Android device, but the video signal may be interfering, but you can try. If the image is affected, power up the camera from the reversing light.

Hello! The cable connection is the best. However you need power for the camera, you will still need to pull a cable from the reversing lamp to the camera.

@@AdrianDragan hey again.. I have a follow up question. When using the wired version, the signal i really bad, its black and White with alot of lines distorting the picture, if i plug the camera to av 1. On the unit, the picture is just as bad.

Salut. Camera functioneaza doar pe unitatea Android.
Salut Adi, în primul rând apreciez videoclipul și modul în care ai explicat fiecare pas. În continuare aș dori să vin cu anumite adăugiri: MARE ATENȚIE! Firul roșu de la RCA (cablul galben prin care se transmite semnalul video la navigație) este firul de TRIGGER, ce înseamnă asta? El trebuie legat la alimentarea camerei și la cablul BACK din mufa navigației (acolo unde ai spus ca nu mai faci conexiunea deoarece ai făcut-o la becul de marșarier), deoarece prin primirea semnalului de tip TRIGGER navigația va trece automat pe cameră în momentul în care va primi semnalul becului de mers înapoi, în caz contrar (dacă nu conectezi firul de TRIGGER), da, camera merge, doar că navigația nu va trece automat pe ea. DIN NOU ATENȚIE acea conexiune despre care vorbesc se face doar în cazul vehiculelor care nu dispun de CAN-BUS. În cazul în care vehiculul are CAN-BUS ceea ce ai făcut este absolut perfect.
În incheiere doresc să specific că nu e o critică spusă în nume de rău, sunt doar anumite specificații care pot fii de folos unor persoane care doresc să facă acest lucru.

Reglajul nu este acolo. Trebuie sa demontezi scrumiera pasagerilor din spate, scoti suprtul scrumierei tragand din partea de jos apoi vezi surubul si piulita de reglaj. Nu uita ca trebuie sa ai 2-3 scaturi libere pana cand frana de mana incepe sa actioneze. Succes!

După explicațiile tale am montat unități android în doua Volkswagen-uri și mâine urmează sa îmi instalez și eu în mașina mea (citroen c4) unitate android și camera mansalier 😇😇.... Legat de chestia cu unitatea android montată într-un VW.... Are o mica problema.... Descarcă bateria mașini...(dacă sta 3 zile parcată rămâne fără baterie) Oare sa fie problema de fabrica? Salut! Mai multi utilizatori au semnalat aceasta problema la masini din grupul VAG cu unitati Android. Eu nu stiu o rezolvare exacta dar se pare ca problema ar fi de la un Gatway Can care trebuie updatat, nu stiu in ce consta aceasta procedura. Vezi comentariile din clipul in care am instalat unitatea pe Pasat B6.

At the moment, I'm trying to install a rear cam myself here on the 308. My cam is a variant attached to a license-plate light. However, that version has the video cable on the inside of the light, so any cabling must go somewhere along the inside of the bumper.
Is there a trick to make a cable go from, say, the left rear light to right over the left license-plate light without taking the whole bumper apart?
The license-plate cam seems so widely used, so I bet someone must have done it on a 308... I appreciate any tips here :)

Hi Sacsha. There may already be a hole in the bumper behind the license plate number, so you can use that one.

Is that a factory sound insulation in your boot and under the rear seats or you set it up. My 308 2008 car doesn't have these.

Daca au fost masini echipate din fabrica cu camera de mers inapoi teoretic ar trebui sa poti face aceasta instalare dar nu stiu sa-ti dau mai multe detalii tehnice. Probabil trebuiesc facute niste configuratii in softul masinii.

Changing headlamps can not do it because it is forbidden in my country to change over the lights with others that did not have the car in the factory. A solution would be a retrofit with original pieces, but it is far too expensive.

Once again, thanks a lot for another great video! Very helpful. As I mentioned in another video, I bought a Mekede M300s unit. I also bought a rear camera from them. It seems to be easy to mount the camera, but I also wanted to mount rear and front parking sensors (the car doesn't have it yet). The system (mekede) seems to be prepared for those, because when I put the rear gear, it showns a screen like the one in this video, where I should see the camera image, but it also has a side image with a car having 4 radars in the front and 4 radars in the back. What I find strange is that the unit's wiring diagram only shows how to connect 4 parking sensors, 2 on the back and 2 on the front. Do you know if this is correct? If so, where should the sensors be placed? For me it would make much more sense to have 4 on the back and 4 on the front, but I can't understand is this is possible.

In that picture are the audio outputs. The Android unit will display only the original parking sensors, the data from them being received through the CANBUS protocol.

Can I, maybe, buy one of those kits that receive signal from 8 sensors and also a camera, and send the image to a monitor, and instead of buying a monitor, send the image signal to the android unit using the AV IN?

Hello. I don't think the rear camera has anything to do with the rear window wiper. Does the same thing happen if you disconnect the camera?

Senzorii sunt montați de vreo 6 ani. Totusi pentru montarea acestora este necesar sa demontezi bara din spate. Pe viitor va trebui sa schimb bara si poate fac atunci un tutorial.
