Thank you for bringing us this great story. Here’s a fun fact: Natalie’s sister Carole was on the forgotten short lived sitcom Grady. Can we please get a story on Angela Bofill?
Right on time!!!! I am recovering from hernia surgery.... Been struggling to sleep from the pain.... I need this 41 mins of relief💯💯💯💯💯💯. Thank you brother! Be careful out there yall.. Hernias are no joke
"Unforgettable" that is what she is! One of the true trailblazers of her time, whether her rivals recognized it or not. Her catalog is rated 💯 as she did it all Jazz, R&B, Pop, funk, soft rock etc. Natalie kept people singing her songs from the first album til the last. Through her ups and downs she always was in good spirit 🎉. She will be remembered for her ✨ timeless songs, great voice, distinct brown eyes.
Unforgettable featuring Mr. Nat king Cole, our love, sophisticated lady, this will be, pink Cadillac, I miss you like crazy. Can't forget about you Nas featuring Natalie. She had a blessed and turbulent life. RIP Natalie Cole.
Natalie went through so much in her life and I am just happy she was able to have a resurgence of popularity before she left us. Sad that her own mama treated her like kaka the majority of her life 😔
@daniellej7914 💯 You are right, I looked at some images/photos of her mother, and she didn't look all that. Just because she was light skin/high yellow, she looked down on others who didn't look like her. Natalie was beautiful! She looked like both her parents. I felt really bad for Natalie when she got sick. Oh well, such is life. 😫 You just never know.
@Imissyoulou Yes, her mother was "snooty" because she had a lighter skin tone. Her parents thought that her husband, Nat, was too dark for her. So, go figure. Very sad! 😫 "Our" people are so lost because a lot of us still got that "divide and conquer" issue when it comes to the different shades of skin tones; "slave mindset mentality." 😢
Natalie Cole is indeed a Sophisticated Lady with the voice of a songbird. I love her music. My indirect connection to Natalie Cole was my public school music teacher Miss Baskerville quit her job to become one of her backup singers. I hope you can do a story on Reverend Ike, Paul Robeson, Jim Croce, Harry Chapin, Donald Goines, Iceberg Slim and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Again thank you for the double shot, an injection I solely needed.
Finally!!! The BEST storyteller in the game is back!!! With 2 video too!!! I been waiting on this one for a minute too! Thanks for the new episodes & RIP Natalie Cole! 🕊🕊🕊

Great profile! She's one of my favorite singers. It's sad that she didn't have a great relationship with her mom, and it's tragic that her son passed away not too long after she died. I saw the NBC biopic on her as well as a couple of biographies on her and her father.
Last time i (we) saw this legendary queen was as a judge on Rupaul's Drag Race, an that episode was EPIC, she passed away soon after. She was so BEAUTIFUL on thst show

I love Nat King Cole music, but I LOVE Natalie Cole. One of my favorite songs is Annie Mae, that was my grandmother's name. Along with This Will Be, I Got Love On My Mind, Our Love, Inseparable, I'm Catching Hell, Sophicated Lady, I Can't Say No, Mr. Melody and many more.
That was so good!!! But when you talked-about Natalie not wanting to give her bodyguard some😂😂😂😂 You captivate me with your delivery as well as your content. Excellent!
We are half way into 2024 and we have lost so many people! Oj Simpson, Lou gossett Jr,Carl weathers, Brother Marquis of the( 2 live crew) Dexter King,DJ Master cee,Rico Ware, Angela Bofil! I look to you doing videos on these people in the near future!
Thank for featuring her. I’ve always thought she was gorgeous and could sang! She is very versatile. My favorite song is Our Love. Great research and fun facts that I had no idea about. Doctor J was that dude on the court. She’s met and was friends with so many interesting people. Sadly one drug leads to another and another. Drugs are bad especially when you start young and it catches up to you as you age. RIP to Natalie Cole.
Wowwwww I wasn't expecting this beauty. Rest In Peace to both Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole. Her movie was amazing and I plan on watching it later on today.
I had the pleasure of being seated right next to her at her Salon. It was my first visit! I was polite respectful of her personal space but I smiled warmly and said hello. She was so pleasant I felt very comfortable telling her that Her Christmas Album singing with the Childrens Choir is among my Favorite Christmas Music memory. Holly And The Ivy was my absolute favorite! Her voice was so angelic so wonderful natural and impactful! That CD was on Repeat Every Christmas! After that Nat King Cole The Jackson 5 and The Temptations! INSEPARABLE is a classic timeless eternal song! Thank you for your storytelling!
Thanks for sharing ❤ I remember when Natalie played in her own Movie 🍿 about her life great movie 🎥 I also enjoyed the duet she did with her Dad she also had a bad relationship with her mom!!! Yesss the song 🎶 OUR LOVE!!! I remember singing that song at the age of 12 😂 like I was Natalie 😂😂
Natalie Cole was the first african american to win best new artist at Grammys she was also the first african american woman to win album of the year at the grammys also!!!!
Wow she went through the positive and the negative and came out a winner in her own right having all of those number classics back to back albums having awards and gold records wow. That reminds me of Donna Summers singing career which she was hot in her hay day too
The narrator forgot to mention that Natalie's mother had to become her conservator over Natalie's affairs, I remembered that as a kid reading my mom's Jet magazine in the early 1980's. They had a huge press conference and made the front pages of the magazine, now after all these years as to why....
Good job with this one! I also remember her song "La Costa" growing up back in the day. That is still a beautiful song that shouldn't be slept on! When you said that Natalie had a "freebase kit" I almost fell off the couch!
I really loved Natalie Cole♥️👑👸🏽🎶. She was so beautiful and so very talented. Such a tragedy that we lost her, her father the great Nat King Cole😢. I bought all of her albums. I really loved singing her songs. THANKFUL, her first album, and the other first three albums ♥️♥️♥️👑👸🏽🎶🎶, to which I used to sing the popular tunes you mentioned. I truly believed that her son Robbie died from a broken heart after Natalie passed.🥲🥲. Rest in eternal peace to her and her family members who passed away.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽. Even though her and her father passed, it’s a blessing that their music and legacy lives on.♥️♥️💜💜👑👸🏽

Natalie "Queen" Cole !! Super CLASSY. "This Will Be," "I'm Catching Hell," Jump Start My Heart," "I Live For Your Love," and "Unforgettable," are my favorites. She's always been one of my favorites because she wasn't raised around a lot of black people but black entertainers. But when she went to college, she embraced her blackness and never turned back. Her mother was always said to have been "color struck", translation, a colorist. It was said that she only married Nat King Cole because he was wealthy because her family didn't want them to mix with dark skinned blacks. I saw Natalie's biopic, but she never mentioned if her mother's family denounced her because she was dark like her father. Any who, she was an inspiration to many. She made a name for herself outside of her father's fame. She's so deserving of this tribute. It was so sad that her son died a year or two after she did. SAD.
Her mother was not happy. Her mother said it's already one star in this family and that's enough meaning her late father. Maria told Natalie if you're gonna do this you'll do it right. Then she set her up with the right people. Her mom wasn't having it at first. According to her intimate portrait episode
