1:25 I think that fast travel guides at settlements are enough for this game. I rather there just be more going on in the open areas than extra fast travel, personally. I feel like improving A-life would satisfy both of us though. As in, some free-roaming stalkers can be guides, but they could die due to A-life events independent of the player.
@TalsetFireSeed If they spawn npc's at longer distances, then you would complain that the game is running poorly. Even Stalker Anomaly will eat your fps if you edit npc's to spawn at a longer distance. It was set by default to 750 meters, but with all the mods the game gad massive fps problems so I lowered the distance to 300 meter to have a playable fps in Anomaly. Imagine what impact will it have in Stalker 2 on Unreal engine. There is a reason why the chose 100 meters.
@@TalsetFireSeed Did you even play the trilogy? I played the Shadow of Chernobyl when it releseed in 2007 and they had npc's spawn at 150 meters. Game was heavy on the hardware at the time, buggy and was prone to crashes. Clear Sky was the most unoptimised at the time with low fps even at the great gaming pc of that time. Call of Pripyat had the worst graphic and empty world at the time of the launch, that's why it ran better of the 3 installment. Where do you get the idea that trilogy was running great and didn't had problems with npc spawns. It was years later when the hardware advanced, that mods started increasing the spawn distance. No engine today can meet the requirements of Stalker style of gameplay. Most open world are not detailed and have stupid Ai due to hardware limits. Easy to make smaller level maps and have better AI like FEAR or Half Life, but open world is a whole diferent ball game. No other company has ever simulated open world game with A-Life type concept beside GSC, as it is very hard to code and execute due to bugs, performance issues. It's easyer to make Metro type linear game that it is Stalker 2.
4:00 Skif is under the possession/control of Faust at that point. It's not his will he's enacting in the 'Skif' ending. 4:45 (comment on the visuals) I *HATE* that blindness you get with light-dark or dark-light transition. OUR EYES ARE NOT CAMERAS! 5:00 Stealth mechanics need to be improved, however, I love those moments when you and the enemy run into each other and stare at each other stupidly for a few moments before they react. It's realistic AND I exploited that when I bum-rushed it up to Faust at the Duga complex.
@@pawelpetrlanc98 That program, no. The same sort of influence, yes. The difference is that Faust is like a portable, more 'inspiration'-based version of the brainwash/C-consciousness. He's much stronger than a Controller.
Been hooked on the series since 2012 first played shadows of Chernobyl and coming from playing New Vegas the atmosphere of stalker is so unique and is one of the most underrated! Great video and keep it up! I subscribed!
i feel like quick travel would kind of remove the part of the game, where you are supposed to deal with the environment and would make the game very plane, the game story would be very short too. It is my first stalker game and i love it so far, i love that you can explore almost anything. Iam very dissapointed that you cannot go to CNPP tho, i was looking forward to that part the most tbh. I hope they will add it in the future thanks for the spoiler alert btw, appriciate that :)
As far as I know, there are supposed to be two more expansions, but since we waited 15 years for the game itself, who knows when they’ll actually be released.
@@trustypotato9998 I don't tbh. A major draw to the series is having to go out, get beat tf up, and then limp your way back into town to sit at a nice campfire. Too many guides and too much fast travel will ruin that. Part of being in the Zone is actually being _in_ the Zone.
I didn't play much of the original series, but I am enjoying Stalker 2 so far. Reminds me of early 2000s RPGs with the emphasis on exploration. Unfortunately the need for mods to improve the game as well 😂. That said I generally agree with your gripes as well, but they aren't deal breakers. I too am hoping for some large content updates to hopefully flesh out the world a bit more. Good video. You earned a sub. So close to 100!
Great video! Im also a fan since 2009. I support every aspect youve said, i also have some other things. The flashlight is too dark, they've could build in different flashlights that you can buy. Also nightvision as you said, i also missed binoculars. I always thought that gsc would put every feature of the pda from triology in stalker2 , except maybe faction system from cs. Also you cant do side quest after side quest for one stalker, but you have to wait idk how long. Also enemies are very accurate with their shooting like they are terminators, which is also annoying. The artifacts of the triology had much more different abilities like endurance etc, which they also could change. Dogs and tushkanos from example are hitting even tho youre out of reach. I miss the minimap/ hud from the old stalkers and in general the old style of everthing you could click on. Also that you could name your save with whatever you want.
The AI feels pritty stupid. All of them atac you. They never flee like in the first games. NPCs dont surrender. They dont seem to see the flashlight (not always). BUT - finally we got the game. And as always modders will change it completly. Now this time with ue4 there is hope
I agree with most (if not all) of the points made in this video. I think they slightly underestimated the amount of work required to properly populate such a large map with quests. In my opinion, they should trade about 4-6 locations for more side quests on the remaining ones. It would be more balanced. It's crazy how much hand crafted(!!!) content they've done for the environment, that effort would have been more fruitful spent on side quest. Still, it's the best game I've played from the past 5 years, and I had more fun exploring the world than Fallout 3/4 games to metion open-word specifically.
I’ve been obsessed with the game, but when I got to SIRCAA I got a game breaking bug and can’t progress the story any further. I guess I just wait for an update?🤷🏻♂️
No, you go back few saves before it happens. I've had bugs in SIRCAA and mission after it, but the (spoilers, sort of) Malachite mission is completely bugged at the moment that even reloading the save will not work. It's still best to wait for an update, or use UETools to get past the bugs. (I did the latter)
@@strider029I’ve been playing it on Xbox because it’s free on gamepass. It’s really good, but Dr. Dalin will not spawn so I can’t talk to him to progress further. Hopefully they put out another bug update again soon to clean up some of the bugs still.
If I misunderstood something or you disagree with my opinion, please let me know in the comments.

Real a-life? Spawns beyond 100 meters? Binoculars? NVGs?

Hmm, this sounds quite logical, though not entirely clear. Is it manipulation or direct control of consciousness?
@pawelpetrlanc98 it's being done in a subtle matter like it was when Scar was trying to stop Strelok and Marked One finding Strelok.
