- Good Morning ladies and gents. Here is part 2 of The Doomsday Machine. I'm not sure how many total parts there will be. Maybe 3 or 4. Depends on the pace of the episode and number of scenes I'm recreating. For part 2, I figured Id end it at a commercial break when they first see the machine. More to come...stay tuned.

If ever there was an episode worthy of a full length movie this is the one.
One of a few
This, along with "City on the Edge of Tommorow" are the best episodes in my mind.Although less special effects are in that episode.
Yes! And they could do it cheap. Few sets, but a tremendous story. Just sitting there for Paramount to use. Proof they’ve got no brain. Same with Balance of Terror.
The Doomsday Machine is one of my favorite Star Trek episodes!!! Thanks for part 2. I'm looking forward to the next video!!! 🖖
Okay, that was scary seeing the Doomsday Machine chasing the Enterprise with the Constellation in tow.
Yes and I can accept them moving fast "AFTER" putting the Con in tow. BUT the actual locking on of the tracter been should not be that fast.
Well done!!!
2:25 Enterprise is like "Yeah no. We're getting out of here. Come on, you."
😂🤣
Enterprise is like that one sober friend, when their buddy just took on a Biker in a drunken barroom brawl, _lost badly,_ and still insists they can fight. While Enterprise is like: "No, we're going to get in the car and you're going to sleep this off."
Just that little bit.. _humanizes_ the Enterprise in a unique way that non-fans just wouldn't _get._
And then everybody aboard the Constellation got severe whiplash 😂
That ending with the Doomsday Machine in Puirsuit just PHENOMENAL. if that moment of the video at 3:16 if that shot of the Enterprise towing the Constellation was shot in the OG Episode that would've been mindblowin. That's why The Doomsday Machine is my all time favorite.
IMO the best performance by a guest star in TOS. William Windom.
Never thought about it, but you might be right!
His reaction when he’s recounting what happened to his crew, and then at the end when he’s in the shuttle craft, and the realization hits him about what’s about to happen to him…
Amazing performance.
William Marshall was none too poor of a guest star, either. The Ultimate Computer is among my top 3 favorite TOS episodes.
3:15 That Shot Of The Doomsday Machine Following The Enterprise With The Constellation In Tow Is PHENOMENAL 👍👍👍
My dad’s all time favourite episode. We must have seen it a dozen times together. Thanks for the memories. Miss you Dad
The unduring popularity of this episode even after more than half a century never ceases to amaze me!
I will definitely stay tuned, same Trek time same Trek channel.
That was a great video; absolutely amazing. I can't wait for part 3. This was always one of my favorite episodes. Thank you for the video. Live long and prosper.
I do love seeing something from the past redone using modern techniques. Star Trek is a fairly major franchise these days and it’s hard to do anything with it and not upset fans. Watching this short video as a fan of ST I can safely say this is awesome! I love the use of CGI vs practical models because it allows you to add a level of detail that matches that of the models while giving you the flexibility to change things that aren’t possible with physical models. I’ve been watching the videos from this UA-cam channel for a while now and I’ve been impressed with them all. I’d love to see some of this on the “big screen” in some Hollywood production.
Gotta say, those updated visuals are great. It's fun to imagine what Star Trek could have done visually if today's technology existed in the 1960s.
What made it though was its original creation back then. However campy, its what it was. The original machine was more menacing.
@@rushfan9thcmd I think what really made this episode stick was William Windom's performance and the plot. It was essentially Moby Dick.
@@OptimusWombat for sure. Wasnt he nominated or get an award for his work on this ? I forget at the moment. No complaints for the new effects. Theres some charm to the originals to pull it off with the resources they had. Similar to Godzilla. Effects got kind of cheesy but Tsuburayas miniature sets were very good. Thats all we had then as "state of the art". We carry the appreciation of what was to what is now. Godzilla Minus One wouldn't be the great work it is without everything that came before it.
Watching the negative crap being given to Kirk/Shatner is nuts. If it would have been just Spock as captain, as good as he is, it may not have had the same success. Each of their roles were perfect and very special.
That guy hitting the gong and that trumpet player are the best ever!
Right!!!!!!
Doomsday Machine still looks scary as hell even with a remastered and 2:25 at least you connected to the remaster of the series being Enterprise tractor beaming the Constellation.
Nice. I love this episode. The scene where Scotty finally gets the external viewscreen working and the first thing Kirk sees is the Enterprise being pulled into the machine is to me the most unintentionally funny scene in the entire series.
Another amazing job sir! Once you complete all parts, maybe upload a complete video of all four parts together?
Cool
“It looks like a tornado on it’s side.”
I immediately fell in love with that transporter effect
According to a later book, this Doomsday Machine was a small prototype built by a long gone civilization to destroy the Borg.
Well, that's an instant subscribe. Seeing your rendition of the conclusion is something to look forward to.
Well done, well done.
It's like rewatching it again for the first time.
Great job with the special effects!
2:25 The Enterprise Is Like "Uh Oh Something Is Approaching Come On Constellation We're Getting Out Here NOW"
Thanks You For Showing The Enterprise Using The Tractor Beam To Tow The Constellation Nice Touch
3:15 That Shot Of The Doomsday Machine Following The Enterprise And The Constellation Is Scary But Good
Great work!! My favorite Star Trek episode of all series and of all time!! This got me hooked at age 6 in 1971 or 1972 syndication!! Well done, and thank you
Excellent!! Awesome!! Particularly loved the transporter effect when Kirk and company beam aboard the Constellation. Nice Tractor Beam and Towing sequences, too! Looks so good; HAVE to have More, please!
I like your narrative showing the Enterprise in relation to the Constellation and the Planet Killer showing where everything is and what it is doing. Also loved the POV angles you used.
Nicely done. You, Sir, have a talent beyond all others. Can't wait for all other parts. This was one of my favorite TOS episodes. Thank-You. 😁
F I C T I O N!
This is SO GOOD!!!
Wow! Excellent work. Thanks!
🖖😎👍Very cool and just as Very wonderfully well done as part 1 indeed Sir!...
Great Episode
Love they havevthe Constellation in a slow tumble.
Very well done !!!
love what you do💯🖖🏻
Excellent
You are a madperson! Very impressive (:
Awesome 👍👍
Cool! Keep going!
The original remaster of this episode was quite good IMO.
Very cool
Was wondering, we know Enterprise took damage but it was never shown. Not as much as Constellation but damage none the less. Any way you could show Enterprise taking damage as she’s being attacked?
This is the remastered version
Severe subspace interference, but yeah, let’s go jump in the transporter!
You should slow down the ships maneuvers would be good. When moving them fast it seems more toy like.
Fantastic. I love your transporter effect.
Lt Palmer. Yum.
I thought a good episode for ST TNG would have been for the Enterprise D to cross paths with another Doomsday Machine.
IDK - less is more for me. Didn't see the need to visually enhance the Beam In effects; nor add a visible tractor beam. But that's me.
Nice!
@QuantumDesignsAZ >>> Is the 'transporter effect' in this video from the *STAR TREK* episodes with the updated CGI effects, or did you do that?
I created an updated effect and put it on top of the old one.
@@QuantumDesignsAZ>>> Cool -- Thanks!
The snapping of the Constellation into the Tractor Beam seems very sloppy and was so abrupt that it should have snapped it in half.
decks 4,5,6 were also partially compromised ... C'MON SPOCK
I guess Uhura had the week off....
Why does everything Scotty touch start throwing sparks? Jk.
Where photon torpedoes a thing around this time in the series? Just wondering.
Yes. The first time photon torpedoes appeared in TOS was in season one's episode "Arena" (the one where Kirk fights a Gorn). "The Doomsday Machine" was in season two.
They would not have done any good against a neutronium hull..
@@wwclay86 Fired down its "throat"? At the need of doing so within its firing arc with the torp then detonating prematurely or being set off close to the firing ship by the Machine's weapon.
@@Bobby90 I suspect that the machine would have been able to know that it was being fired on by photon torpedoes and hit the torpedoes with an antiproton beam to stop them
@@wwclay86 Only then it didn't fire on the shuttle or the ship. By that logic wouldn't fire at a mine on its own or put on an asteroid.
Part 4 Czilla target the doomsday machine and fire !!!!!! And do a sensor wave of a competition like a godzilla rore grab its attention off enterprise with every thing we got
Closed captions?
Is there a part 3 coming out?
Part 3 was out, but UA-cam just took it down saying CBS flagged it as copyright. BS if you ask me seeing Ive made a bunch of remakes already with no previous issues
That's why the OG series and even TNG were far better than the crap re-vision now. I never could understand how Spock outranked Kirk (when he was a cadet) yet many years later gets promoted to Captain in command of a starship, and Spock doesn't get promoted at all.
Theres another fan film about the doomsday machine called "judgement day a star trek fan film" its good but i would love to see it improved with your better animation quality
There was another fan series around 15-20 years ago called "Star Trek: New Voyages" (originally "Star Trek: Phase II) that also did a Doomsday Machine episode called "In Harm's Way".
@@OptimusWombat i didn't know that. It's in youtube? I would like to see it. Any kind of star trek fan film is way better than any actual star trek
@@sirjanin I tried replying to you with a link to the video, but UA-cam keeps deleting it even though it's for another UA-cam video 🤦♂
@@sirjanin just search for "Star Trek New Voyages In Harm's Way" in the UA-cam search bar.
This the same as Pat 1! WTF?
superior to even CGI remake. congrats.
Yikes!!!
Everyone, I knew always called this the space turd episode. I always thought it was one of the worst episodes of the original series.
The new transporter effect looks too TNG. Original was better.
Part 1 Czilla kyies the atomic warp core levels please kyies impulse 100 warp 99 Czilla oh come on!! I need 100 all systems fine keeps tinkering kyies warp 100 beams 199 Czilla really dang almost 200 tinkering with the atomic phaser beam kyies phaser atomic beams 200 Czilla perfect kyies shilds 200 Czilla impressive kyies systems have been refitted well done sir emergency on the com its kirk Czilla drops what hes doing and heads to the bridge of maximul
Part 2 kirk if anyone gets this message im on the bally damaged constitution and a planate killer cophs is fowling my ship deker took over if maximul gets this get my ship back and and please come to the assist kirk out .
all attempts to improve on the original practical/optical effects fail
Why don't these special effects guys get it? They think they are making things more realistic with their effects but it just doesn't suit the photography of the drama itself! It is like putting a photograph next to a painting. Why don't they get it? It is quite simple. Yes the effects they make are nice but they don't fit the rest of the scene...
Nope. Don't like it at all. 2 outta 10.
Nice
Many centuries in the future and they're still using lbs/sq. in. to measure atmospheric pressure (1:55).
The Americans probably will, While the rest of star fleet uses Bar.
@QuantumDesignsAZ >>> *COOL!*
