Sitting in my living room in a cold scotland being warmed by the wonderment of this fabulous piece of music
To quote the great Kurt Vonnegut: "the only proof he needed, for the existence of God, was music". IMHO, no truer words have ever been written, spanning all genres, composers and instruments both great and small.
Fantastic sound
Absolutely beautiful. So haunting yet so sweetly played. This friends, is as good as it gets.
Beautiful Ed …
Thinking of the dogs I've had that have come and gone. Music always did express grief better than words wonderful piece of music
That is some of the sweetest tone I've ever heard. Great touch. And one of my favorite songs. I will credit you if I play it out. Thank you for some wonderful music.
Absolutely beautiful - every time I hear this song.

Did see the vid now for the 50th time (felt) and can't stop listening to this rendition of the song - really amazing symbiosis between Ed and his instrument, absolutely love it!
I wish I could play the lap steel like this.

So Beautiful...Went right through me
I haven’t hear of Ed Gerhard. But I have heard a few versions of ‘Killing the Blues’ as it’s one of my favourites. Ed Gerhard, you’ve done a poetic and masterful piece. Just love it!
Wow
This is so good. I can't stop listening to it.
so very good…thank you
Ed went over the whole set and pretty much picked this one as the best. Great player!
Nice and contemplative version of a great song. Resonates with a lot of folk (me included). The theme of laughing through one's tears. Lots of artists do a nice job singing it, too.
Absolutely beautiful.
Simply Beautiful!

Such emotion. Tears are streaming down my face. Thank you.
exquisite
Yeah after i was looking into them, i think im going to try and make my own from an old body or something, make it one of a kind. Thanks!
Love the locusts in the background. Add a little bit to the atmosphere don't you think.
You could look at the Hawaiian guitars at rayco dot ca A Canadian company. In BC.
Spectacularly beautiful.
Completely disagree with his interpretation of the feel of the song however. To me, it's a sober and thoughtful recounting of the fierce dichotomy between internal feelings and actual outward behavior, and these lyrics are every bit as important as the music.
YES!!
Long & McQuaid has one for $575, but it's a modern copy. Looks like the originals haven't been made for about sixty years. I imagine prices are all over the map depending on quality and age. Good luck!
Is the writer the same Roland Sally who plays bass for Chris Isaak?
