i have purchased this car last week...Quiet,smooth,easy to ride and very comfortable.Everything perfectly set for the comfort, practicality and storge.Fully satisfied...
I’m 6’8 & this car is by far the best fitting car for a tall person. I’ve tried every single brand and model for an SUV, compared mpg and and quality. This is the best car you can get.
My parents bought a new 2016 Highlander Limited today (05-09-16). We absolutely love the vehicle. It's rides very good and is quiet for an SUV. It has a V6 engine.
This was a fantastic review. The writing fantastic, the review comprehensive, the references on point for the audience and demographic... Great job, KBB! I thoroughly enjoyed this one.
I absolutely love my Highlander xle 2016.....V6....I find it to be very quiet, and find it very much meets my needs, seating, and other wise concerning being able to reach the dash for operating the radio and what have you, and I am very petite, at 5'3....it is about positioning your seat correctly, which most people have to do....Now if you want to lay down and drive, no this is not the vehicle for you........lol......And for the 3 row seating, let's face it, that is for kids more than adult men...just saying....If one needs a bus, get a bus but those mom's out there hauling 3 to 4 children, or adults this vehicle is just fine......
+ThatAlicorn dA i was suppose to say that, if you want to lay down while driving, this is not the right vehivle for you. i have 2014 RAV4 Limited, if i tilt back the seat, OF COURSE I WON'T BE ABLE TO REACH MY CELLPHONE BY THE DASHBOARD. and if you are NOT comfy with the 3rd row seat, GO GET A VAN.
Manny Lopez I just realized my MOM posted this on my account. ;-; Anyways. My mom got the Highlander and she loves it. And the 3rd row seat is the part of the car that I was striving for. As a teen, I want to be as far away and have as much privacy as possible from my parents with my friends as possible. But it is for under 18, mostly.
+ThatAlicorn dA You are sitting in my heart and said what I was trying to say. This is the car of 1st choice if you are looking for "Durability=Toyota, Fancy, optimal size; not big like those busty suvs nor small like a matches box and for the 3rd row as you said it's for kid or tiny hot chicks lol. I think it is the car of choice for every day drive and at all of the occasions!!
Not really what trim on this video because he is showing different style on dashboard. but like he mentioned if you want to get all the premium options, go get the Limited. i little pricey compare to base model but you gonna love it, trust me.
Seriously considering this car as a replacement for my father's Mitsubishi Outlander. He wants a large SUV that can carry more stuff, still have 7 passenger capacity and better MPG. I think a Highlander HY would be just the ticket.
Apparently the KBB reviewer wasn't impressed with the speed of the lift gate at the 4:25 videomark. Is your schedule that tight that waiting an additional 10-12 seconds will throw off your daily routine? Perhaps you should set your alarm clock 15 minutes earlier in the morning to compensate for that lift gate delay.
Great review. Very informative and helpful as I am now going to test drive this vehicle. On a video production note, very well done! And the snapping into a Slim Jim was not lost on me right after seeing Macho Man on the car dash monitor. Great work!
Very good review, would rate it as the best non luxury class 7 seater CUV. Limited platinum has all the luxury elements of Luxury models like Lexus RX350 which it is closely related and shares many components and MDX except for the exceptional SH- AWD on MDX.
I looked at the toyota highlander, the biggest downfall is the third row seating. Yes it is for the kids, but even the kids need some leg room. I went with a different vehicle mainly because of the third row seating issue, and the closest toyota dealer to me is hour away, so warranty work and service work would be a issue at times. If you do not intend on using the third row seating the toyota highlander is a great crossover, we liked it. Toyota should not be selling this as a 7 or 8 passenger, the dealer even said the third row is pretty much useless unless you have no legs, the dealers words, not mine.
I'm 6'1" and fit in the 3rd row just fine. The Highlander would have to be a foot longer or look hideously bloated like the Pilot and Pathfinder to have more room back there. Then people would complain that the Highlander was too big. Remember that the second row has tons of legroom allowing you to apportion more room for the 3rd row when needed.
Absolutely correct. The Pilot and Pathfinders look like potatoes on wheels. Their, huge rear makes the handling very poor as compared to the highlander.
Does anyone know if the rear lift gate has the option of just opening the glass top part and not the whole thing? I'm looking for an SUV with this feature. Please advise. Thank you.
Why would you ask a bunch of strangers what vehicle you should buy? That makes no sense. Sounds like you care what other people think of you so I'd say go buy a Mercedes.
***** Will be interesting to see the readings on the new Mazda CX9. The human ear can't discern the difference between 1-2 db's. 3 dba's becomes noticable. Dba's though is a measurement of sound loudness, not sound quality. But I DO appreciate a quiet car. The lower, the better.
***** I've heard this noise issue about the CX-5. I have a friend who traded it for a Highland for the same reason. I don't need 3 rows....would rather have something a little bit more sporty to drive and nimble .... but quiet.
Huh? The Highlander has great space efficiency for its size. That has always been a Toyota strong suit. For example, it's about 9" shorter than a Mazda CX-9 yet has more space.
If it's anything like my sienna, its a piece of junk . Steering column problems , paint problems ( Toyota repainted my new sienna) .Seats replaced ,seat belts broken ,arm rest broken ,and rear seats stuck in tracks and can't be removed . My crappy Dodge was better than my new Toyota .I will never buy Toyota again.
+Josh L automakers change names all the time. Where's the Toyota supra? Celica. Toyota changes too. Guess those are dead name plates to name a few. Toyotas are not problem free cars. My neighbor had a Durango over 300k miles. Not an issue other then shocks. Be real. Every automaker has their car issues. Everyone.
+Jim Cole Of course, but FCA consistently has the worst quality. Don't get me wrong, I like the Durango a lot but when it comes to living with a vehicle for years I wouldn't put the money down for one.
Jim Cole I take it you're a young kid who is sold by looks and fancy features...cause that all that the Durango had going for it. They are beautiful suvs and I would love to own one but the quality is worse that a bucket if shit. They do not last long and they have so many problems it'll become a nightmare to own. And please don't listen to certain people here saying they have Durango that have lasted 200x miles or more, they clearly over exaggerate.

It rides the best....
does it come with the package it promised like the heated seats
@@derek_457 yes , heated and ventilation
I just bought 2016 30.000 miles. It’s now 2021.:) and I love it. It’s amazing suv. I drove 180mph and it can fly.:)
This was a fantastic review. The writing fantastic, the review comprehensive, the references on point for the audience and demographic... Great job, KBB! I thoroughly enjoyed this one.
My 2015 is now 8 years old, only 52,000 miles and looks/runs like new.
Ready to resell?
I'm looking into purchasing a 2016 Toyota Highlander, I really like the 3rd Gen!!
Wow, this was surprisingly good. I approve!

I have the same car in slate grey and absolutely love it!

Haha, that Macho Man reference was great. So was this review in general.
Great Review! My next suv! Time for an upgrade next year!
Seriously considering this car as a replacement for my father's Mitsubishi Outlander. He wants a large SUV that can carry more stuff, still have 7 passenger capacity and better MPG. I think a Highlander HY would be just the ticket.
That's also why I'm buying the highlander. =)
Lovin the Randy Mocho Man Savage Slim Jim reference
Zack is cool and shows why the third row should not be an after thought in a 3 row suv

There is an adjustment for opening speed and height for the rear hatch
+J High And also, most people would realistically open the hatch while still walking to the vehicle. Seems like an unnecessary complaint.
+J High And also, most people would realistically open the hatch while still walking to the vehicle. Seems like an unnecessary complaint.
***** Some people would complain if it opened too fast, so I guess there's really no optimal lift gate speed.
+J High If you had to wait 10-12 seconds every time for the lift gate to open, you'd get annoyed quickly.
Great review. Very informative and helpful as I am now going to test drive this vehicle. On a video production note, very well done! And the snapping into a Slim Jim was not lost on me right after seeing Macho Man on the car dash monitor. Great work!
I love the interior ambient lighting ✌️
This was an excellent, if not disturbing review.
The kid part was hilarious!!!!
The expression his face was priceless.
I must say Toyota got it right this time. Is this awd version part time or is it full time?
Instinctive Firearm Reviews The 3rd generation Highlander employs a part-time, on-demand AWD system.
Very good review, would rate it as the best non luxury class 7 seater CUV. Limited platinum has all the luxury elements of Luxury models like Lexus RX350 which it is closely related and shares many components and MDX except for the exceptional SH- AWD on MDX.
Platinum cost way more than the RX350 used, which I currently own and hate compared to my highlander....
Best review I've ever seen.
Love the cameo by the Slim Jim! Excellent product placement!!

I am looking at this truck or the Honda Pilot which truck did you go with?
Absolutely correct. The Pilot and Pathfinders look like potatoes on wheels. Their, huge rear makes the handling very poor as compared to the highlander.
Sergio Ceja these are trucks dumb bitch. their crossovers
I’m between this and a Volkswagen Atlas. Any input on either?
Excellent review!!!
+John Ortuno notwithstanding the snarky comment about aircraft carriers hu?
+Genda Minoru The humor that Zach employs are just one more reason why I subscribed.
Great review!!
Thought he was ab libbing to Micah's voice. Great review
How can a video uploaded in 2014 review a car from 2016?
Looks much better now
omfg salad fingers reference!
Thank you so much for the review.
The sons look is like...yup, dads crazy.
I saw this on the road and I thought it was the 2014 MDX. The rear side window line looks similar. I don't like the front and the bulging tail lights.
Very good review. Informative and funny . Nice Toyota.
I caught the Star Wars joke
Does anyone know if the rear lift gate has the option of just opening the glass top part and not the whole thing? I'm looking for an SUV with this feature. Please advise. Thank you.
The Chevy Tahoe does this
wow salad fingers reference.... 2006 flashback here we go!
im getting the same one in the le plus same interior and exterior :-) its so beautiful....
Should I buy the new highlander pathfinder or Durango?
go with pathfinder. Roomier third row
Why would you ask a bunch of strangers what vehicle you should buy? That makes no sense. Sounds like you care what other people think of you so I'd say go buy a Mercedes.
+David Lew no pathfinder has cut stay away!
+Carl Wilson Cvt*
Durango best looking and rides great!
Nice review, nice to see some new faces.
It can finally tow a boat
Which one has more space Honda Pilot or Toyota Highlander
Daritvix Honda Pilot
should.i get the highlander or the ford explorer 2016?
Comparing the two as well.
Decisions decisions.
I'm thinking the something
twinkesrockz highlander has better quality than the Ford Explorer
10 -Toyota 0 -Explorer
Highlander without a doubt has higher reliability, but I imagine the interior is nicer on the other.
You forgot to mention Acura MDX and Land Rover Discovery Sport. ^_^
How do you get on tv
are the seats comfortable?
FabulouslyFabulousUnicorn Yes. Our editors had nothing but good things to say about the Highlander's front-and second-row seats.
So far I'm thinking I would prefer its cousin the 4runner if I was buying. But that's just me and I can see where this would make a nice family hauler.
Does Randy Macho Man Savage music come standard?
is $27.5k a good deal today for a used 2016 Highlander Limited with 32k miles? I'm in the market for a used one.
No. You can get it for under 24k. To each their own however since sale price is 30k.
whats it towing capacity
+Jim K V6 models can tow up to 5,000 lbs.
I like the looks of the new Highlander, but if you are going to have a third row seat, make it with enough room to sit in.
lmfaooo 4:51
how can you have a review on a 2016 car published in 2014
Looks good
i like the murano more, it is the smallest of its competitors.
A "2016 Highlander" review posted in 2014😕😞!!
yeah highlander is a nice mid size, well I got one 2015 LTD 2wd.
Hmmm highlander or sienna??!?
He comments that the Highlander is not the quietest SUV in its class....but doesn't say what is.
So what is the answer?
+TruthHasSpoken Our testing shows the 2016 Kia Sorento and 2016 Honda Pilot are the currently quietest midsize SUVs.
***** Thank you!
+Kelley Blue Book :)
***** Will be interesting to see the readings on the new Mazda CX9.

The backseat did it for me I don't need my knees into my chest I rather buy a minivan
Nice location, Lakewood, ca!
I saw scenes in Long Beach too!! :-)
I love the highlander but don’t consider the third row as existent
My dog hangout there
i looked up salad fingers, was a mistake
I actually like the Highlander....but I will not buy ANY TOYOTA until they improve their safety rating in the new small overlap crash test.
tahj677 they did unlike dodge witch don’t care about crash safety
4:38 lol his cap says MAZDA
this grill remember me to all new avanza
Looks like a big ass rogue
no it doesnt
Too Bad theres no Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Vx in the US.
It's called 4Runner or Lexus GX. You pick.
4Runner its nothing like the Land Cruiser Prado, GX it is. Actually, GX its based on the Prado.
Amazing
you want a quieter, better ride, you must spend $15k or $20k more. but you may not get a more reliable car.
Such a big car to not make use of its interior space, very odd.
Huh? The Highlander has great space efficiency for its size. That has always been a Toyota strong suit. For example, it's about 9" shorter than a Mazda CX-9 yet has more space.
Thanks god bless
Will buy this car In Jesus name
Really want this car. But I want to watch Salad Fingers now, brb.
Bmw , mercedes , audi takes super gas
And normal takes regular gas
What does this car takes likes gas ?
Nice vehichle
I how certains car😸😹 would look like in 2020😁😂🤣🤗🤔
Ecooterments 5:11
DON'T look up Salad fingers
😍
it would be nice if the V6 would produce at least 300hp
I believe they are supposed to be increasing the power for next year, then I'll actually consider it
the new engine should produce that amount for 2017
His driving position is awful he needs to sit closer and bend his arms, no wonder he can't reach the controls when sat back in the seat.
GMC number on
lol, SALADFINGERS!
WHY WHY!!!!!! SEVEN SEATERS. I HATE THEM. I LIKE 8 SEATERS ONLY
+shane premraj You can get an 8 seater on the XLE trim.
The xle highlander is a 8 seater but the le is the only highlander with 7 seats
U mean the limited is 7 only
If it's anything like my sienna, its a piece of junk . V6 will tow 5000 lbs
Roberto dont be so intolerant to political references. Its just a joke
I prefer santa fe
We get it. You don’t like George Bush or the state of America’s infrastructure. Stick to reviewing the car next time.
Toyota makes some ugly ass wheels, SMH.
I'll take a dodge Durango all day long
Along with the poor reliability? Plus, the Durango is being discontinued after this year. Wouldn't want to pay $40K for a dead nameplate.

Great review!
