hi friend, unfortunately no the back pack is not 100% waterproof, only the bottom and the front will resist water, and as for the zippers, for this backpack they are pretty good I have not had any issues zipping the backpack so far and believe since Lenovo is a Chinese company a 3rd party most likely produces the zippers in China, I could not find any official documentation however, hope this helps!
