Mythbusters showed that it's difficult, but NOT impossible, to start a fire by doing a burnout because the air movement generated by the tire is fast enough to extinguish the fire. You can make lots and lots of smoke though
Mythbusters also did the wooden wheels thing better by simply cutting a cookie out a log and bolting it on as-is, without any glueing or screws. Just a section out of a treetrunk thats the right size.
It is a very nice wood however over time it loses the purple and turns gray. It’s definitely not good for beginners because of how dense it is, you need and blades to be brand new/freshly sharpened as it dulls them very fast

Please please please revisit this with FRESH cut log slices, as thick as they will fit, and only hollow out the centre hubcap instead of a hole straight through. The planks were great but it's very dry for construction use. I think fresh logs may just withstand more abuse! Keep up the work!

You need a steel plate on both sides of the wood wheel so the lug nuts clamp the wood tight instead of just relying on the holes in the wood for strength.

The truck manufacturer scania in sweden did actually export trucks via roro car ferries using wodden weels tires ,to some contrys. The reason being that the importer had there own suplier of the tires.
You'd be pretty hard pressed to get a fire going. Every time the point making contact with the ground stops touching the ground all the heat is gonna dissipate into the wheel well because big surprise, metal is a good conductor of heat.
