what a poorly designed tanker. the man himself states he can not reach most of the compartments. he also states multiple compartments are so small that they are useless. the ladders are mounted so high on the truck a ladder needs to be climbed to retrieve them. that means multiple members will be needed to remove a portable ladder. the hose bed is so high you will need suplimental oxygen just to retrieve a supply line or longer attack line.
this pumper-tanker is a disaster. this is what happens when an appratus comittie does not set a goal for the new appratus. this department would have been better off by paying less than $100,000 for a tanker built on a governemnt truck and then building a custom pumper. I feel bad for the members who will be riding this truck for the next 15-20 years.

Pierce built the truck the department asked for. I am not faulting pierce at all. I am saying that the department designed a very poor rig. They tried to do everything with one truck and they have a poor truck as the result. I like pierce trucks. My department is designing a new pierce pumper. As for the comment on compartment layout. Look at the picture of the entire truck. Those compartments are located at a height above the pump pannel.very few people will be able to reach that high. All members of the department should be easily able to reach all equipment.
