jason isbell had a great quote as of late: "nashville didn't 'ruin' country music. Lotta good burgers in this town, nobody's forcing you to eat mcdonalds
As a former Roadie & R&R truck driver….. this was my life for over 20+ years…. Love and Respect to my favorite band Reckless Kelley and to those of us who have lived this life! It’s not easy for many… I loved it and miss some of my good ole memories of all the great friends and great times on the road!
first saw reckless in 97. houston. been a fan ever since. truly one of the greatest and most respected red dirt, rootsy, bands out there. if you ever get a chance to see them live. do NOT pass up the opportunity.
@@caseygerberding6538 thanks for correcting Jarrod, I usually don't do it as nice as you did when it comes to music. Reckless Kelly & Micky and the motorcars are serious bands who should have so much more radio exposure the same for a lot the Red Dirt/Alt Country Americana Bands.
Such a great song. Im so glad there are still honest singer songwriters out there like Willy Braun, Will Hoge, Sean McConnell, and Zack Walther, just to name a few.
Man they are amazing live, i live in houston and your 100% correct we are blessed with the best music on earth..the red dirt country. I hope you get to experience that one day also man
Heard this song come on the radio last night before I got down from my car. Heard a couple of verses and one chorus and I paused. Singed those words on my brain and promised myself that I would find out who sang it and first thing this morning found it. Really emotional....
i feel sorry for radio country fans. they'll never get to experience a little bit of Reckless Kelly and a lot of the Texas music genre. thank goodness for Texas Country!!!
@daleylaurel I agree with you on that, but not all of the bands are from Texas. Ragweed, Boland, Mike McClure, Stoney LaRue, No Justice, and a whole bunch others are from Oklahoma.
You know all the Braun brothers are great musicians and big Cody stands out but with their background growing up touring with dad being home schooled living in the beautiful Sawtooth mountains of Idaho their pedigree I would expect as much.
Wow... Getting a bit emotional here! Damn this song is powerfull. This is music people! Not the generic kind, the kind that grips and moves you. Instant fan right here.
All of the Brauns, including Willie and Cody, are definitely from Stanley, Idaho. Actually, they were homeschooled and lived way up a long dirt road in the White Cloud mountains about 20 miles from Stanley. No kidding. They still go there quite often. I used to watch then play at the outdoor pavillion in Stanley. Their house is in one of the most remote locations you can imagine, in extremely beautiful country.Anyway, not wanting to be a dick, just trying to set the record straight.Cheers.
@KRassau We are gratful they came to Austin. First time i saw them was Pearl's before it burned '96 or so. A lot of people don't realize they came to Austin from Idaho. SXSW WEEK , i am about to turn 40 and and thank God i am far away from downtown . Reckless Kelly, etc made this town..tedious. When i them play , i knew they would be downtown very soon
@daleylaurel A bit rich to call Country diverse isn't it? I mean... if you're stretching for musical diversity maybe look for somewhere that has other genres AND country. Not just country

Still classic, but a classic is forever
I wish I had the ability to articulate my soul into words like these guys can.

First time I saw them was in Waco in '98
This song feels like is was ripped from my soul and turned into music - a language I cannot speak nearly as well as this man
Well said brother
Been a fan for years. Their latest work is their best ever.
Yes it is !
I grew up with Cody and Willy Braun. Along with Micky and Gary. They kicked ass even back then. That is real Idaho roots right there.
Wish I had written this myself, it moves me. Thanks for the job well done.
All three Braun brothers are awesome. Their dad was legit too!!
Jarrod Young 4, Cody and Willie, Micky and Gary.

been a fan since this came on my Pandora on a dark moon filled night driving from Johnson City back to Austin
Welcome to the club.
I from Austin, probably a little more life lived, found this introspective...a writer as well.
I just wish Reckless Kelly would come to the UK. At this rate I am going to have to come over to the US to see them! I think I will . . .
Man they are amazing live, i live in houston and your 100% correct we are blessed with the best music on earth..the red dirt country. I hope you get to experience that one day also man

Willie gets most of the attention but big brother Cody is an amazing musician. I bet he could make a kazoo sound great.
You know all the Braun brothers are great musicians and big Cody stands out but with their background growing up touring with dad being home schooled living in the beautiful Sawtooth mountains of Idaho their pedigree I would expect as much.
Jay ain’t no slouch either!
