I spent an efficient one day in London. If anyone wants to refer to: I arrived at the Kings Cross Station around 2pm and then walked to the tower bridge while checking the shops along my route. After tower bridge at 5pm i went to the borough market nearby for dinner. At night i went to SOHO (it was lit!), then the next morning i checked out of my hotel and went buckingham palace for the changing of the guards at 11am.
We will be there 5 full days but the tower bridge area, Borough market, and London Eye (yes, I know it’s touristy but I don’t care lol) are on my itinerary for one day. Yay! 😊
Before we left, I watched sooo many of your videos! THANK YOU! We stayed at Park Plaza Westminster and found we could walk almost everywhere. The Gong...EXCELLENT tip. Reviews said poor food and high prices. NOT our experience. It was amazing!!❤

This is the best most concise intro to London for tourists that I've ever seen! Very good. We've been before and are coming back next month, I had no idea I could use Apple Pay on the tube instead of an Oyster card, good to know. Thanks.
@@loveandlondon I like the idea that you can just tap your chipped credit card as well (sometimes I don't like fumbling with my phone or trusting technology). Before your video, I'd only heard about using your phone.

Your videos were so helpful my trip to London last week. The black cabs got my daughters to the Taylor Swift Concert on time! Traffic was brutal. You were right about not booking a rental.. Sadly, my daughter booked it before I could tell her not to. It was dirty, had "male bodily fluids" on the shade, the white fans were almost black from dust, blood on the shower wall, etc. The owner wouldn't give our money back and neither would the rental company. Expensive lesson to learn.
This is so helpful and funny. I've heard so much about paying for the tube with my phone. This is my first time learning that I can just use my chipped card, which is much easier imo. The info about crossing streets and tipping are useful as well. Thank you!

One correction: From 5:50. The "2" in postal district "WC2" is not related to how far the area is from the center. For example NW8 (Cricklewood) is further out than NW8 (St John's Wood). The allocation of these numbers (at least for the more central postal districts) was originally related to the alphabetic order of the place name.
And of course "mind the gap" lol, i got a kick out of it when i was there a couple of weeks ago, your videos were helpful, thanks. I can't wait to be back next yr.
i was actually considering airbnb until you reminded me how that affects the housing market with rich people turning properties into full time rentals that could be permanent housing for regular people and driving up prices. i live in a beach town in florida that just 2 years ago passed a charter banning airbnb rentals in the city and non primary residence owners in certain areas bc so many wealthy tourists were visiting and then buying up properties and turning them into rentals.
Just a correction on the point about postcodes. The first postcodes in a series are in Central London (like W1, W2) but then after that they are alphabetical based on the area name, not the distance from Central London. So W3 = Acton, W4 = Chiswick, W5 = Ealing, W6 = Hammersmith and so on.
I came to make a similar point. The Post Codes can seem to make no sense. I live in N4, which has the following post codes surrounding it: N16 / N5 / N19 / N8 / N7 / N15 (and in no logical pattern !) - Just saying LOL

EXCELLENT VIDEO! I'll be heading back in November, it's been two years waiting because of the pandemic. This will make my FIFTH trip to London. I can't wait!
I'm currently planning my solo trip to London in September and I'm so glad I've found your channel and especially this video, as I was only considering Airbnb. I've read your article on why you don't recommend it and I agree so much with it, I would very much prefer if my tourist dollars can help the economy as we're all recovering from the pandemic (: plus I was looking at a few Airbnbs and felt really unsafe on the ones that have a few rooms in a single building and having other people I don't know in the building just sounds, weird and questionable. Never know what could go wrong, I'm already worrying my family on insisting going alone and I think the idea of me staying in a hotel is much more better now (: Thank you so much for the effort on making this video, so many tips that would help make my trip awesome, I can't wait already!
We love hotels, hostels and apart-hotels, you'll find lots of options especially in this part of our website: loveandlondon.com/category/london-accommodations/ Thanks so much for watching and I'm glad we could help!
I'm going solo in September as well! I ended up choosing an Airbnb that is just a spare room in an older couple's home (as Airbnb was originally intended to be before people bought properties to specifically rent out which is the part that screws up the housing market) and I'm excited to stay with them because they have amazing reviews and already seem so kind. I hope you find the perfect place to stay and enjoy your time!
Thank you your videos are so informative and helpful, especially about tipping, not needing and Oyster card, and ATM machines availability. We are flying out 12/27.

Love your videos! We're planning a 24 hour excursion to London during our trip to Paris next summer, so arriving on a Tuesday around 10:40am and leaving the next day on the 18:01 Eurostar back to Gare du Nord. We're at the planning stage of what we want to see while we're in London. And since I'm a huge transit fan, the London Transport Museum is a must. But we have plenty of time on our hands and any suggestions are welcome. Salut!
Nice! Well we have tons of suggestions across this channel, on our IG and Tiktok accounts, on our website and in the guides in our shop. Enjoy and welcome to the fam :)
@Love and London I try and read up on everything I can, I have the London 101 guide book on my phone and in a folder on my pc for my transit photos I'll be taking during the trip. I'll watch as many of your videos as I can as well. Cheers! Salut!
Too many ideas for this short reply but you may want to consider: The Churchill War Rooms in Westminster: very atmospheric. Also a small museum at London Bridge: The Old Operating Theatre: truly fascinating. Try to catch a West End show too, the TKTS booth in Leicester Square will find you a bargain
Can you please direct me once more for your London Tips 101…you have great info and I would love to learn more since I am planning on coming to London in a couple of years.
@@loveandlondon Already did! I kept thinking - how is this free?! 😁 Coming from NYC myself, I’m used to paying and overpaying. Thanks again for your great work!
Hi Jess, i am visiting London the next week.. i was curious about the colourful red telephone boxes in your background. Could you tell me the location ?
Quick comment about point 2. Remeber the voltage int he UK is 230v as it is across most of Europe. This means a simple adaptor is all you need. However, the US and Canada for example use 120v, so make sure whatever you plug in from there can accept a 230v input. Most laptop chargers can but phone chargers often don't.
At least from my experience, all electronics will charge with a simple adapter. At least all of my Apple products (laptop, iPhone, iPad, etc.) have charged just fine.
Trying out an airbnb in north london in november. Stayed once in an airbnb near elephant&castle 2015. Hotels are usually better and more transport friendly
As mentioned we are a hard "no" on Airbnbs in London! Here are some fantastic apart-hotels to book instead: loveandlondon.com/18-london-apart-hotels-better-than-airbnb/
These apart-hotels are just maybe more affordable hotels with a kitchenette...they call them gits in France but more affordable in France and not in city centers. Several years ago i stayed in what was called B&B (bed and breakfast). A homeowner with an extra bedroom(s) would not necessarily advertise would rent the room per night(s) with the option of a continental breakfast .. they were nice and informative of the local areas and transport... "Youth" hostel were the cheapest..
Great advice for tourists. I never understand the 2 days London, then coach to Oxford or Stonehenge or the Cotswolds for 1 day etc. Great places, but you need time to explore.

Hi Jess, i am visiting London the next week.. i was curious about the colourful red telephone boxes in your background. Could you tell me the location ?
Near the Royal Opera House. Thanks for watching!
Your video’s are super helpful. Staying in Soho in November. Thank you xo

Most phone chargers from the US only need adapters at this point too!
@@loveandlondon ahh was looking for stuff like this two months ago, will save and use for next trip, thanks

Thanks for the tips🧚
You're so welcome! thanks for watching.

2:06 how is it optional if they are adding it to the bill?
You can ask them to take it off.
Great advice for tourists. I never understand the 2 days London, then coach to Oxford or Stonehenge or the Cotswolds for 1 day etc. Great places, but you need time to explore.
I'm in London for a short time but I'm doing a Stonehenge tour. I'm much more interested is seeing it than tourist sites like the London Eye, etc.
I am going to London and these videos have helped me plan a lot of fun stuff. The videos are great and very informative, has been helpful when trying to plan a trip. Her tips have helped me save money and find things I would have never know about, like the Sky Garden. Highly recommend
